This Is Us - Season 3 - Lyric Ross Promoted to Series Regular

The NBC hit has promoted Lyric Ross to a full-time member of the cast for season three. Ross had a recurring part in 2017-18 as Deja, the teenage girl Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) took in from the foster system.

MOVIES: Little Women - Emma Watson in Talks to Start in Greta Gerwig Remake

Emma Watson is in talks to star in Greta Gerwig's Little Women. Watson is in negotiations for a role that Emma Stone was previously circling. Stone was no longer able to participate in the film due to scheduling conflicts.

The adaptation of the Louisa May Alcott classic has Meryl Streep, Laura Dern, Saoirse Ronan, Timothee Chalamet and Florence Pugh in talks to star.  




NCIS: New Orleans - Season 5 - Necar Zadegan Joins Cast as Series Regular

EW has exclusively revealed that Necar Zadegan has been added as a series regular to NCIS: New Orleans. Zadegan will play Special Agent Hannah Khoury, who takes a leadership spot on the team after last season’s assassination attempt on Pride (Scott Bakula).

“We were looking to bring someone new into the world of New Orleans so that we get to experience the city again through her eyes,” executive producer Christopher Silber tells EW. “She is someone with a much different skill set from the rest of our team. Hannah has an international flavor. She’s of Persian descent. And while she did grow up in the states, she’s traveled all over the world, working internationally for NCIS. She’s done more intelligence work.”




Hawaii Five-0 - Season 9 - Louis Gossett Jr. to Guest

TVLine has exclusively revealed that Louis Gossett Jr. is set to guest-star in a Season 9 episode that is set around the November holiday, playing the father of Chi McBride’s Lou Grover.

Shameless - Season 9 - Katey Sagal to Recur; Courteney Cox to Guest

Katey Sagal (Sons of Anarchy, Superior Donuts) will recur as Ingrid Jones, a crazed psych patient that Frank (William H. Macy) encounters in the E.R., and with whom he is immediately smitten. 

Courteney Cox (Friends, Cougar Town) will guest star as Jen Wagner, a famous actress who’s had a problem in the past with booze. Lip (Jeremy Allen White) is hired as her sober companion when she’s in town, and she takes him on a wild ride in search of a cocktail.

Foundation - Sci-Fi Drama Based on Isaac Asimov's Trilogy Receives Series Order at Apple

EXCLUSIVE: Three months after Apple landed for development a TV series based on Foundation, the seminal Isaac Asimov science fiction novel trilogy, the project has received a 10-episode straight-to-series order.

Foundation, from Skydance Television, David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman, chronicles the thousand year saga of The Foundation, a band of exiles who discover that the only way to save the Galactic Empire from destruction is to defy it.

The Goldbergs - Season 6 - Rick Springfield to Guest

EW has revealed that rocker Rick Springfield — the singer behind hits such as “Jessie’s Girl” — will guest-star in the third episode of the ABC comedy’s upcoming sixth season. He will play Erica’s new boss, the owner of a karaoke bar called Gary-oke’s. “At last I get to play a guy from the 80s,” Springfield says. “I’m excited to guest star on The Goldbergs and return back to 1980-something!”




Snowpiercer - Timothy V. Murphy, Happy Anderson & Jonathan Lloyd Walker to Recur in TNT Futuristic Thriller

Timothy V. Murphy (Sons of Anarchy) is Commander Grey, a former Special Forces, British SAS who commanded men before the Freeze, his specialty is keeping things in order. A brilliant tactician, this hardened leader also relishes getting his hands dirty and being in combat. Happy Anderson (Bright) portrays Klimpt, a research scientist turned doctor, who oversees those unfortunate enough to be sentenced to the coffin-like Drawers Jonathan Lloyd Walker (Van Helsing) will play Big John, a poor passenger from the back of the train forced to perform harsh slave-like labor.

Sherlock’s Andrew Scott is joining the cast of season two of BBC and Amazon comedy Fleabag as filming gets under way.

Will & Grace - Season 10 - Adam Rippon, Matt Bomer & Minnie Driver to Guest

Adam Rippon is dipping his ice skate into the world of scripted TV. E! News has learned the Olympic bronze medalist will appear in an upcoming episode of Will & Grace—and he's not the only special guest.

In addition to Rippon, Matt Bomer is coming to play as McCoy Whitman, a "smooth-talking, self-satisfied TV news anchor" who dates Will (Eric McCormack). But wait, there's more: Minnie Driver is returning as Lorraine Finster, Karen's nemesis and stepdaughter. Look for Karen (Megan Mullally) to seek her out at a strip club to try and get more money in her divorce settlement.

MOVIES: Death Note - Sequel in Development at Netflix

Among properties it already owns, Netflix is developing a sequel to 2017's horror-thriller Death Note, which Sarandos has called a "sizable" success, with Greg Russo writing the script. Director David Ayer and Smith also are planning a follow-up to Bright, which was panned by critics but watched by 11 million viewers in its first three days, according to Nielsen.

Queen Fur - Kim Dickens to Star in Showtime Drama Pilot; Michael Mosley, Jon Foster, Joshua Mikel, Keith Machekanyanga & Spencer Howell Also Join Cast

Created, written and executive produced by Myers, Queen Fur is set in a small town in Central Florida – a place where beauty pageants, gun culture, Cuban revolutionaries and Southern hospitality co-exist and collide. And at the center of it all is Macy Dunleavy (Harrington) – a curvy, sexy, unapologetic high school dropout who is finding her womanhood and is ready to seize a big opportunity.

Dickens will play Macy’s mom, a former local beauty queen.

Mosley will play Todd, a local gun salesman. Mikel is Ryan, an associate of Todd. Foster will play Rob, Macy’s older brother, an ex-Marine plagued with anxieties. Machekanyanga will play Ralph, a small time criminal who fancies himself an entrepreneur. Howell is 9-year-old Jim, the youngest member of Rita and Macy’s family.

MOVIES: Crazy Rich Asians Sequel - China Rich Girlfriend in Development at Warner Bros

The Crazy Rich Asians gang is getting back together. Jon M. Chu, who helmed the groundbreaking film that ruled the box office with a $35.3 million five-day opening, is planning to return for the sequel. Warner Bros.' is moving forward with development on the follow-up, with plans to reunite the first movie's original team, including producers Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson of Color Force and John Penotti of Ivanhoe.

Chu, whose past credits include 2016's Now You See Me 2 and 2013's G.I. Joe: Retaliation, does have a packed schedule, but sources say he'd likely helm the follow-up to Crazy Rich Asians after shooting the long-awaited adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s first musical, In the Heights, which Warners has scheduled for a June 26, 2020, release.

The plan is to also bring back screenwriters Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim (who penned Crazy Rich Asians), although the deals have not yet been set.




The Sanchez Way - Mexican Family Comedy from Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos in Development at ABC

Writer Isaac Gonzalez (Legends of Chamberlain Heights, Mr. Iglesias) joins Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, and Albert Bianchini as the show’s executive producers from Milojo.

The Sanchez Way is an irreverent comedy about a loud, proud, Mexican-American family that lives by a very strict working class code. Show centers on Pedro Sanchez, the patriarch of the family, whose code is threatened when his “fresa” brother-in-law (a Mexican yuppie) moves to town and wants to be part of the family.

MOVIES: Top Gun: Maverick - Monica Barbaro, Jay Ellis, Danny Ramirez & More Join Cast

Monica Barbaro was one of several actresses that tested with Miles Teller last week before the studio finally made the decision over the weekend. Barbaro is said to be a pilot who is also Teller’s love interest in the pic.

This latest project will be set in a world of drone technology and will explore the end of the era of dogfighting, with Cruise portraying a flight instructor. In late May, Cruise posted a photo of himself in front of what appeared to be a Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet.

Additionally Deadline has revealed the following castings for Top Gun: Maverick.

Thomasin McKenzie (Jojo Rabbit), Charles Parnell (A Million Little Pieces), Jay Ellis (Insecure), Bashir Salahuddin (GLOW) and Danny Ramirez (Assassination Nation) have joined the cast.

McKenzie will play the daughter of Jennifer Connelly’s character. Parnell will play an admiral. Ellis will play a pilot. Salahuddin plays an engineer and Ramirez also plays a pilot

The Fix - Chasten Harmon & Vannessa Vasquez to Recur

The ABC legal drama co-written by O.J. Simpson prosecutor Marcia Clark centers on Maya Travis (Robin Tunney), an L.A. district attorney who suffers a devastating defeat when prosecuting an A-list actor for double murder. With her high-profile career derailed, she flees for a quieter life in Washington. When the same celebrity is under suspicion for another murder eight years later, Maya is lured back to the DA’s office for another chance at justice.

Harmon will play Star, daughter of Sevvy (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). Vasquez will portray Dia. Details of her character are under wraps.

iZombie - Season 5 - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to Guest

The Hollywood Reporter have revealed NBA Legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will guest star in the upcoming final season. Abdul-Jabbar will play Zed, one of just two Seattle City Council members who didn't flee the city before the wall went up. Zed is a zombie, and his fellow council member is a human, thus creating a unique form of gridlock at city hall.

ABC has put in development The Thread, a half-hour comedy from Search Party feature scribes Michael Gagerman and Andrew Waller, Will Gluck’s Olive Bridge Entertainment and ABC Studios.

Written by Gagerman and Waller, The Thread is a modern ensemble comedy about a group of longtime friends, leading diverse, chaotic lives, who stay connected through a long running daily text thread. Freddie Highmore Signs Production Deal with Sony Pictures TV

The Good Doctor star Freddie Highmore has signed an overall production deal with the leading studio behind the hit ABC medical drama, Sony Pictures TV. Under the two-year deal, Highmore will develop scripted series for broadcast, cable, streaming services and international co-productions through his Alfresco Pictures.

“Freddie is an outstanding actor and we are incredibly proud of his work on The Good Doctor,” said Jeff Frost, Chris Parnell and Jason Clodfelter, President and Co-Presidents of Sony Pictures Television. “We recognize his passion, creativity and are thrilled to expand our relationship with him and his production company Alfresco Pictures.”

MOVIES: Dora The Explorer - Eva Longoria Joins Cast

Per the studio, the movie will tell the story of Dora, a girl who has spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, but now must navigate her most dangerous adventure yet: high school. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego, and a rag tag group of teens on a Goonies-esque adventure to save her parents and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost Inca civilization.

Eva Longoria is playing Eva, Dora's mother in Paramount’s live-action feature based on the character from the popular Nickelodeon TV series.




NCIS: New Orleans - Season 5 - Reggie Lee to Recur

Reggie Lee (Grimm) will play Assistant Special Agent in Charge Steven Thompson. Thompson will often butt heads with Pride (Bakula) as each have a very different process to approaching and prioritizing their workload.

Last Man Standing - Season 7 - Krista Marie Yu to Recur

Last Man Standing has cast former Dr. Ken star Krista Marie Yu in the recurring role of Jen, a foreign exchange student, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Jen will first be introduced in Episode 4 of the ABC-turned-Fox sitcom. Vanessa takes the young scholar under her wing and convinces Mike to let her stay with them while she completes her schooling in the States. “Vanessa feels particularly tied to [Jen] because she’s interested in geology,” exec producer Kevin Abbott tells TVLine. “Vanessa’s always wanted to encourage [young women] to go into the sciences.”
