Dare Me - Willa Fitzgerald, Herizen Guardiola & Marlo Kelly to Star in USA Network Pilot

EXCLUSIVE: Willa Fitzgerald (Scream: The TV Series), Herizen Guardiola (The Get Down) and Marlo Kelly (Home and Away) will lead the cast of the USA Network pilot Dare Me, from Universal Cable Productions and Film 44.

Fitzgerald plays Colette French. Once a star cheerleader herself, she is now a rising-star high school cheerleading coach with a reputation for building winning squads. Young, beautiful and charismatic, she exudes a deep, enigmatic movie-star cool, but she can’t stop herself from taking risks, with the squad and in her personal life.

Guardiola will play Addy Hanlon, a yearning, ambitious high school student who dreams of using cheer to secure a college scholarship and a ticket out of her Midwestern town. When Coach Colette French arrives, Addy is both inspired and tantalized, finding herself increasingly drawn into Colette’s complicated world.

Magnum P.I. - Amy Hill to Recur

Amy Hill has signed on for a recurring role with a series regular option in Magnum P.I, CBS’ reboot of the classic 1980s show, from Peter Lenkov, Davis Entertainment, CBS TV Studios and Universal TV Studios,

Co-written by Lenkov and Eric Guggenheim, the reboot follows Thomas Magnum (Jay Hernandez), a decorated ex-Navy SEAL who, upon returning home from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator. With help from fellow vets Theodore “TC” Calvin and Orville “Rick” Wright, as well as that of disavowed former MI:6 agent Juliet Higgins, Magnum takes on the cases no one else will, helping those who have no one else to turn to.

Hill will play the charming and irreverent Kumu, the cultural curator and de facto “house mom” of Robin’s Nest. (Like Doris Duke’s famous Shangri-La mansion near Honolulu, Robin’s Nest employs a cultural curator to preserve and share Hawaiian knowledge.) Whip-smart, she makes sure neither Magnum nor Higgins get away with anything on “her” property. But if they’re ever in need, Kumu is the first person to offer help from herself and her dozens of cousins, “tutus” (aunties) and neighbors all over Oahu. She’s the funny and tart voice of the islands.

The Chi - Season 2 - Shamon Brown Jr., Barton Fitzpatrick & Michael Epps Promoted to Series Regulars

SHOWTIME(R) HIT DRAMA "THE CHI" UPS THREE TO SERIES REGULARS

NEW YORK - July 23, 2018 - Fan favorites Shamon Brown Jr. (Papa), Barton Fitzpatrick (Reg) and Michael Epps (Jake) have been upped from guest stars to series regulars for the highly anticipated second season of THE CHI. The hit SHOWTIME drama series is currently in production in Chicago and will return to the network in 2019. THE CHI averaged 4.5 million weekly viewers across platforms and ranks as the highest-rated SHOWTIME freshman season since BILLIONS in 2016.

In season one, viewers watched as best friends Kevin (series regular Alex Hibbert), Papa (Brown Jr.) and Jake (Epps) navigated the rocky terrain of teen life on the South Side in their journey to become young men. In addition to normal adolescent pitfalls (girls, school hierarchies, bullies), they were also exposed to some of the darker elements of inner-city life, at times by Jake's older brother and guardian, Reg (Fitzpatrick). Kevin and Papa battled Reg's influence over Jake, praying that their friend would maintain his innocence and avoid temptations. But whether the boys are able to shield Jake from Reg's twisted lessons in street survival remains to be seen.

Created and executive produced by Emmy(R) winner Lena Waithe (Master of None) and executive produced by Academy Award(R), Emmy and Golden Globe(R) winner Common (Selma), THE CHI explores the humanity behind the headlines sensationalizing the South Side of Chicago. Ayanna Floyd Davis (Empire, Hannibal) serves as executive producer and showrunner for season two.

Giri/Haji - Kelly Macdonald to Star in BBC/Netflix Thriller

EXCLUSIVE: Puzzle and Boardwalk Empire star Kelly Macdonald has lined up a leading role in BBC One/Netflix’s upcoming thriller Giri/Haji, Deadline understands. First announced in May 2017, Giri/Haji (Duty/Shame) hails from Humans writer Joe Barton, and Jane Featherstone’s Sister Pictures. BBC One will air in the UK with Netflix handling globally.

The eight-part series follows middle-aged Tokyo detective Kenzo who travels to London in search of his wayward younger brother Yuto. Once thought dead, Yuto is now believed to be posing as a Yakuza gangster in London and wanted for the murder of a Japanese businessman there.

It is described as a dark, character-driven crime story which cuts between London and Tokyo, exploring the butterfly effect between the two cities, and asking: How do we live with our actions when the prisms they’re viewed through can seem to change so drastically depending on where we are or who we talk to?
