NBC is developing a drama that hails from Maria Bello and Jessica Goldberg.
Titled “Relief,” the potential series would follow a successful female doctor in L.A. who delivers supplies to her estranged brother on a remote island devastated by an earthquake. A series of dramatic events propel her decision to stay on and become part of a group of volunteers from around the world who are saving lives and healing themselves in the process.
Bello and Goldberg came up with the story, with Goldberg writing the teleplay. The pair will also executive produce along with Scott Mednick of Mednick Productions. Skyler Mednick will be a supervising producer. Bello will produce under her Aurora Entertainment banner. Universal Television will produce. Goldberg is currently under an overall deal at UTV.
