Stitchers is about to deliver one of its most powerful and heartbreaking episodes to date. By the end of the hour, the mass majority of relationships will be in some sort of turmoil and some may be irreconcilably damaged. The case is directly linked to Cameron, and while he plays a prominent part in the episode thanks to his father, the ripple effect caused by the nature of the case cascades through the team. Romantic relationships, friendships, and familial relationships will be tested like never before. Unfortunately, it is a test that many will fail. Some relationships take a step in the right direction, but many others may never ever be the same again after this episode.

Never before has the show done an episode more heartbreaking than this one. It’s no secret that all of these characters have deep trauma in their pasts mostly thanks to their families and that plays a big part in everything that happens. The nature of this case involving Cameron's father, brings out a lot of that trauma and things that we’ve heard about, but never seen, are shown in flashbacks. The only way to describe this episode is heartbreaking. If you’re hoping for happy cheerful loving moments then be warned, because this isn’t the episode for that. Every season of a show has to have an episode that shatters the lives of the characters and this is that one for Stitchers.

The events that occur during the hour touch all of them. Betrayals, heartbreak, and lies accentuate what happens throughout the episode. The characters have the best of intentions in mind, but their executions fall short. Attempts to mend the damage done is too little too late. Thankfully, for Cameron at least, Maggie is back which takes that pressure off of him only to be replaced by a whole new slew of pressures. Maggie’s return comes at both the best possible time and the worst.

There is no happily ever after at the end of this episode. By the end of the hour one character ends up sobbing in the arms of someone unexpected and others are left to confront their demons alone. This is your warning, this episode aims to knock the air out of the characters and fans alike and it succeeds. It is a poignant hour and the performances are so raw that it almost feels wrong to be watching them. The episode is stunningly written and the performances bring it to life in raw and realistic ways that allow all the heartache the characters experience to translate through the screen in incredibly powerful ways. Shield your hearts, invest in a box of Kleenex and emotionally prepare yourselves.

Don’t miss this heartbreaking episode when it airs on Monday, July 10th at 9/8c on Freeform.

Here are some quotes to tide you over:

“Let’s find out what really happened and why.”
“Good, then get your head out of your ass and just be the person you are on the inside.”
“Don’t make me regret it.”
“Girl, you’re so far away I need a passport to reach you.”
“Not everything’s about you princess.”
