Stitchers - For Love And Money - Advance Preview: “Relationships”

Stitchers follows up its exceptional season premiere with a heavily character-driven episode. There is a case of the week, but it sort of plays second fiddle to what is going on in the personal lives of the characters. They spend a fair amount of time outside of the lab to the result of some intriguing and fun moments. This is a very Camille heavy episode, so expect a ton of hilarious snark and some top-notch acting by Allison Scagliotti. She gets a ton to do and the performances she delivers hit right on point with her usual impeccable timing and immense talent. Don't worry though, while Camille is a dominant force in this episode, all of the characters experience some sort of big moment in their personal lives that are likely to drive them going forward this season.

This episode also serves up the introduction of Anna Akana’s new Medical Examiner character, Amanda. She’s not exactly what one would expect from an M.E. and she certainly catches Camille off guard. This has the potential to be a really fun dynamic and the chemistry between Akana and Allison Scagliotti is incredible. The casting of Akana as Amanda couldn’t have been any more perfect than this. She and Scagliotti have a very similar high energy that allows them to volley lines around with great ease. The casting team nailed Amanda's casting and allowed for the coming together of two very gifted performers who will surely do some terrific things together as the season progresses.

There is also the complicated duo of Cameron and Kirsten. They do work together a considerable amount which will allow fans to see if anything has changed after the kiss that ended the prior episode. These two have a bit of a tough task this week that leaves them in some really awkward situations in order to pursue answers regarding the case the team is working on. There is tension between them, but it’s probably not quite what some are expecting. Their interactions are a really fun follow-up to the season premiere.

Also, something that needed to be dealt with as carryover from the last episode, is how the team is now going to be structured since Maggie was promoted. She is looking to fill her position and while it’s not an easy choice she does make one. The ultimate winner is a bit surprising, and this promotion will almost certainly complicate things for this character. The choice causes a direct and immediate response from several characters with each of them taking the news very differently. It'll be very interesting to see the repricussions of this decision.

This is a short preview simply because there isn’t much that can be said about certain situations without giving away anything important. You don’t want to be spoiled too much on this episode because the fun comes from the moments that unexpectedly happen. But, here are a few tiny teaser tidbits to tide you over until Monday. Someone makes a bold move in the wake of another situation. Another character breaks the rules to try and solve a part of the case. There are shots fired. The episode ends on a pretty huge revelatory moment that has the potential to change a few things going forward. It’s a big episode that should leave everyone with jaws slightly agape by the time it cuts to the end credits.

Don’t miss this episode when it airs on Freeform at 9/8c on Monday.

Here are some quotes to tide you over:
“We make it look good.”
“Did I hear the sounds of telephonic flirtation?”
“I told you this was a bad idea.”
“Oh, this is why I’m here. So, seriously, no one else knows how to use a tablet?”
“Good talk.”

Hit the comments with your hopes for this episode. What do you hope will happen between Camille and Amanda or Kirsten and Cameron? Who do you think will get promoted?
