What a creepy episode!

The episode centres around an identical killing to the Zodiac, the victim being Matty’s goddaughter. The team has to find out who this guy is, and is it the real zodiac killer.

I loved the storyline and the creepiness behind it, however, i didn’t like it involving Matty. It was too
soon to involve her/her family in this. If this was an episode later down the line, maybe ep.17 or 18 I would have said this was my favourite episode. I loved how involved Bozer was and how they finally use him for something other than comedy. The case isn’t a normal case the Phoenix Foundation would take as it is a normal killing, however, because it involves Matty she gets first dibs to investigate it. Once again, Merediths acting throughout this episode was flawless and really showed the emotion of the character Matty while keeping her walls up.

I wasn’t really sure what the opening scene was and I would've preferred if they didn’t start the episode with some weird robot. To me, it didn’t make sense and felt like some kind of filler. The editing in this episode was quite different but I liked it, I like to quick shots and cut scene, especially when the killing of Vanessa and her boyfriend was happening.

Once they start investigating Vanessa’s room, they find that there is a perfect view of her room from an abandoned building over the road. Mac and Jack go check it out and find a homeless guy in. After talking about what he saw in the room, the team head to a too perfect house. Jack figures out most of it has been staged and is secretly hiding something. Mac makes a thing to ‘see’ through walls using waves. Matty finds a book for a secret wall and they find either a shrine to the original zodiac killer or his investigating notes/photos. They also find his laptop with emails in the original code that the zodiac used to communicate. They get a copy to Riley and she starts working on it, however, that didn’t last long as the Zodiac found her and kidnapped her. He takes Riley to an old abandoned movie theatre, and the team figure this out when they find Riley missing leaving her laptop. Bozer knows Riley’s password and they find multiple properties owned by the same man, Mac and Matty use their knowledge to find that he’s taken her to a movie theatre.

Riley is getting into his head that he can’t kill her because the original never did, this gives mac enough time to make a bomb and get the zodiac killer's attention away from Riley for a moment. After a little run, Riley knocks him out, it turns out to be the homeless man from earlier. The ending ties in nicely with the Hawaii Five-0 crossover next month when Jack mentions he has a phone call to make to someone in Hawaii.

The ending was a little boring as it was very anti-climatic but I cannot wait for the cross over!
