Thanks to Millie for the heads up.
The CW has acquired Sky adventure series Hooten & the Lady for the U.S.

Sky Vision, the international production and distribution arm of Sky, unveiled the agreement Monday, saying that it marks its first deal with the U.S. network.

It wasn't immediately clear when the CW would air the action-packed Indiana Jones-style series.

Produced by Red Planet Productions and written by such U.K. writers as Jeff Povey (Silent Witness) and Sarah Phelps (The Casual Vacancy), the show has had one season consisting of eight hourlong episodes.

It follows the escapades of American maverick adventurer and treasure hunter Hooten, played by Michael Landes (CSI, Love Soup), and a British historical expert, Lady Alexandra, portrayed by Ophelia Lovibond (Elementary). Jane Seymour has a recurring role as her mother.

Leona Connell, director of sales at Sky Vision, said: "Here at Sky Vision we're delighted that The CW will be the home of Hooten & the Lady in the U.S., we believe this high-octane adventure drama is a perfect fit for the network. The series was a huge hit with the Sky 1 audience in the U.K., and we hope viewers of The CW will love it just as much."
