Lucifer - Homewrecker - Advance Preview: “Home Is Where The Devil Is”

Lucifer delivers another terrific episode full of surprises and an unexpected cliffhanger that will leave viewers nervously awaiting the next episode. As the title of this episode suggests, this is an episode about home. The celestial characters all ponder the meaning of home and what they’ll do to be some place they feel they belong. As such, “Charlotte” finally puts her plan in motion in order to get back to the place she considers home. She has a one track mind and as such the only people that matter to her are her children. In order to reunite her family, she’s willing to do just about anything and hurt anyone in the process. This episode definitely provides some prime examples of why her ex-husband deemed Hell the safest place to put her. With her running around in her current vengeful mindset no one is safe.

With “Charlotte” acting as a bit of a wild card both Amenadiel and Maze take interest in keeping an eye on her, but for very different reasons. Their joint venture leads them to work together to ensure that “Charlotte” doesn’t cross any lines. In the process, they discover quite an interesting little something about some of her extracurricular activities that even surprises Maze. Through all of this, Amenadiel just wants to look after his mom, but when it comes to her, he discovers that he may have bitten off more than he can handle in trying to keep her on the straight and narrow. Given how things end up going, Amenadiel may need the services of Dr. Linda after this little adventure.

The case of the week centers around LUX and heavily involves Lucifer. It’s a case that really causes Lucifer to have to do some soul searching as he faces the possibility of losing his home. As is usual when he is soul searching he turns to Linda for advice. With her brain back in full working order look for her to provide some very insightful help to him, though, there is no guarantee he’ll actually listen to her. She has earned such a place of importance in his life that he does take a big leap and introduces her to his mom. Their first meeting is quite interesting.

Throughout the episode, Chloe will play a pivotal part in helping Lucifer. Their interactions are everything we’ve come to expect from this team, but there are several twists that challenge them both in unexpected ways. For those wondering about the promo picture showing them at LUX, I will confirm that the picture is everything it looks like. Chloe does open up a bit and has some fun thanks to a little nudge from Lucifer. They have a lot of great scenes together that should make fans happy.

The last five minutes will have viewers cheering, jeering, and screaming at their screens as the episode rushes towards its dangerous cliffhanger. Much like with my last preview I won’t ruin it by telling you who is in the scene or what the full context of the moment is, but I will confirm that it is a cliffhanger that leaves at least one character in a very precarious position. This ending is not quite as shocking as the big reveal to Linda, but it is nonetheless intense. From start to finish this is an engaging episode with heartwarming moments, fun quips, moments of hilarity, and a couple doses of heartbreak. If you have plans for Monday I suggest you cancel them, because this is a must watch episode.

Do not miss this episode when it airs this Monday, November 21st at 9/8C on FOX.

Here are some quotes to tide you over until Monday:

“Just to be clear, that wasn’t me.”
“I understand your confusion. You’re very attractive and I’ve found that can also mean that you’re not very intelligent."
“I did not see that coming.”
“But it is so much fun to torture you.”
“Come on, Detective, friends help each other out.”

Hit the comments with your hopes about what will happen in this episode. What do you think Charlotte will do?
