Van Helsing 103

Last week it was teased that she had turned a vampire back to human so it’s no surprise this one heads back to the hospital .

One of her attackers who bit her in episode 101 is human again, in fact, we get a peek at how he became a vampire in a brutal start before even the title appears!

Not only are they uncertain about the recent turning but the power generator is knocked out during a scuffle. This leaves them a race against time before the UV lights all go out and the feeders try to get in. Vanessa and Axel go out to find a generator leaving the crew to fend for themselves. It's dangerous out there and the clock is ticking? Will they get back in time?

I felt this was a prime opportunity to open up some real dialogue between those who remain however it falls flat and the only saved by the interaction of the characters Sam (Christopher Heyerdahl) and Mohamad (Trezzo Mahoro).
The same can be said for Axel and Van’s walk into the world .Nothing makes you want to take the time to feel invested in these characters, why they are there and why is she so important.

When I first heard the premise of this show I was excited but by the third episode, it has fallen flat as their battery power.Do not get me wrong the potential is there but they still seemed bogged down with stilted dialog and lack of any real chemistry. The only characters we have seen a real bond with are the Doc (Rukiya Bernard) and Axel (Jonathan Scarfe) .
You, however, find yourself watching hoping for something and by the end, your interest is sparked enough to hopefully want you to tune in next week.

My view , the show has a lot of potential but needs to get on with it .

Van Helsing airs Friday 10/9c on SyFy

Is this series shaping up how you expected?

Do we need another post-apocalyptic show?
