12 Monkeys - Blood Washed Away - Advance Preview

12 Monkeys “Blood Washed Away” was written by Sean Tretta and was directed by David Grossman. This wasn’t my favorite episode of the season. There are some cool time payoffs, but in general, this episode really goes in directions I wasn’t expecting. I’m waiting to make any final judgement until the last episode airs though because I love this show, and I trust the writers. Having said that, this isn’t the episode to miss – but prepare yourself…

The action is split between 1957 and 2044 – I was really expecting to get one episode cover each time period to end off the season, but as always with 12 Monkeys, time is both in short supply and abundantly available.

In 1957, Cole (Aaron Stanford) makes a friend with Charlie, and he gives Cole some interesting advice. Cassie (Amanda Schull) also seems to have a lot of friends. Eventually, Cassie gets back to her roots. Morris Morrison gets a new address.

In 2044, there is an amazingly choreographed and bloody gun battle. Ramse (Kirk Acevedo) shows no mercy – but Jennifer (Emily Hampshire) does. However, we also see Jennifer lose control. Hannah (Brooke Williams) has some bad news for Ramse. Hannah and Cole both volunteer for shit details. Whitley (Demore Barnes), Dr Adler (Andrew Gillies), Deacon (Todd Stashwick), and the daughters find themselves at Titan…

As always, here are a few tidbits of dialogue – the names redacted to protect the spoilers!

Like a memory of tomorrow.
We do what we can. We do what we have to.
Your smile is a treasure of all who know you.
Why would you walk toward the weird music?
There’s never enough time.
Get your hand off me.
When it comes down to it, the only thing you’ll be wishing for is more time.
Maybe, you’ve been enjoying your job a little too much.
This is our last chance.
We haven’t been very good to each other.
Most of the blood is washed away.
Get the bodies down and burn them before we go.
It’s time. I’m ready.
Not everything the witness said was true.
Does that make me stupid or a liar?

Don’t forget to tune in on Monday, July 11 at 9/8c on Syfy. You will not want to miss a second of the shocking conclusion to this episode.
