CBS Orders 4 Dramas and 2 Comedies to Series

I hear MacGyver will undergo some retooling with all actors except star Lucas Till and co-star George Eads recast. The project faced numerous challenges, including writer and director changes. (the final pilot script was written by Paul Downs Colaizzo and Brett Mahoney, with David Von Ancken stepping in for James Wan to direct). Still, CBS brass continued to like the title, leading to the pickup, possibly for midseason.

The Office's Jenna Fischer was slated to co-star in Man with a Plan but has exited the project as it undergoes a different creative direction. Sources say the split was amicable.
