Fish-Out-Of-Water Themed Comedy Pilot Ordered by FOX

Fox has given a pilot order to The Mick (working title), a single-camera comedy from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia co-executive producers John Chernin and Dave Chernin. The project was taken out directly to the networks by the Chernin brothers and 3 Arts in August. It landed at Fox with a script commitment plus penalty and was laid off at 20th Century Fox TV. The Chernins’ script was in contention for a pilot order, which was sealed when former Sunny producer-director Randall Einhorn came on board to direct and executive produce the pilot a few days ago.

Written by the Chernins, the untitled comedy has a fish-out-of-water theme. It centers on a hard-living, foul mouthed woman who moves to affluent Greenwich, CT to raise the spoiled kids of her wealthy sister who has fled the country to avoid a federal indictment. She quickly learns what the rest of us already know — other people’s children are awful. John Chernin and Dave Chernin executive produce with 3 Arts’ Oly Obst and Nicholas Frenkel as well as Einhorn (pilot only).
