The Goldbergs - A Chorus Lie - Review

Review:
Tonight's episode proves why this critically-acclaimed sitcom continues to be awesome. As we saw in last week's episode, we saw a voice change in him because of puberty. This week could not get any worse for him as he not only deals with sweating frequently, but also his singing voice is not very pleasant. To hopefully avoid humiliation in the choir concert, Adam sees on TV that 1980s infamous band "Milli Vanilli" was accused of lip syncing. This causes Adam to consider mimicking that idea. Will it work or will he do the right thing to sing his crackling voice in front of the audience?

The music teacher and Beverly agree to Adam’s idea. Later on, however, Pops doesn’t feel comfortable Adam pulling this stunt. At the end, Miss Cinoman , Beverly and Adam agree that the guys sing their real voices. Although (not shockingly) their voices kept creaking, Beverly and Pops enjoyed the performance.

Meanwhile, Barry and his buddies are over at the Goldbergs' house. Because Erica struggles to find a date for the homecoming dance, Murray (the dad) suggests her go to with Geoff due to his strong enthusiasm towards her. However, she accepts Johnny Atkins (the band geek)’s invitation to go the dance, but Murray already hates him. Will she stay with Johnny or realize that Murray was right about him?

It turns out that Johnny has 2 dates, which makes Erica mad. Geoff stands up for her, but she decides to not go to the dance at all. After a touching moment with her father, she goes to Geoff’s house. She ends up having slushies with him and enjoying his wild personality.

Overall, another strong episode for season 3. I enjoyed the scene where Adam was not the only one that was going through puberty. He has a strong support of friends that has his back. I’m glad that Beverly decided to back out Adam’s support of lip syncing. What matters the most is the true voice no matter how bad it is. It’s better to take the long route than the shortcut. Bev may micromanage school events so much, but in the end, she does what’s best for her kids. I hope Erica and Geoff get to know each other more. They were so cute tonight! I know many may not agree, but they would make a great couple like Barry and Lainey. I can't wait for next week's episode!! :)
