Madam Secretary - The Show Must Go On (Season Premiere) - Advance Preview and Teasers

Madam Secretary returns with its second season this Sunday. In the season premiere, Elizabeh is inaugurated as President of the United States when Air Force One goes missing.

The season kicks off when Russell informs Elizabeth that all communication was lost with Air Force One. The plane is declared missing somewhere over the Pacific Ocean. Various theories are discussed, but it's clear that nobody really knows what happened. However, the country needs an Acting President and Elizabeth is fourth in the presidential line of succession. There will be a good reason why the first three candidates can't take the oath of office, and obviously they were not all on the plane. After Elizabeth takes the oath of office, her first business is finding out what happened to Air Force One and if President Conrad is still alive.

Meanwhile, Henry's new teaching job overlaps with his new DIA job. While teaching military ethics, Henry is approached by his DIA handler Jane Fellows (Jill Hennessy), who wants him to recruit one of his students. Henry is reluctant as he thinks the student in question is not the best candidate for being an asset. It leads to quite some friction between Henry and Jane, but Henry might come with an alternative that saves the day.

Some other teasers from "The Show Must Go On":
-Morgan Freeman guest stars as Chief Justice Frawley, who is present to administer the oath of office to Elizabeth.
-The President's son, Harrison, reappears in this episode and the romance between him and Stevie will be brought up again. We also find out how he is doing with his addiction.
-Elizabeth is surprised to hear that the National Security Advisor is resigning. She is even more surprised when she learns that the President did not inform her of possible successors to the role.
-At least one cast member will be singing during the episode.
-There are hints that the storylines started in this episode will carry on through the season.

The season premiere airs this Sunday at 8/7c on CBS. Watch a promo for the episode below:
