The Vampire Diaries - Kat Graham Is Unsure If She Would Stay For An 8th Season

Can you see yourself doing Vampire Diaries for much longer?
I think I was really excited about the idea of doing a season seven, based on the fact that I feel like my character, who was basically in the other dimension for about two years, finally got out, and I knew that the fans felt that the character’s story wasn’t completed. There are storylines with other characters, whether it’s Damon, or other people that the character has scenes with, that they just felt that the character’s relationships had not come full circle or had not fully developed, and wanted to explore that also, I felt the same way. I didn’t feel like the character’s story was done, I felt that there was more that they could do, but I won’t say I would do a Season eight, it really depends on whether I’m fulfilled, and whether we’re like ‘Okay, this story’s been told, and we’re good to go.’

  1. Without Bonnie,it wouldn't be the same.I loved Kat's portrayal of the character since the very beginning. After Nina's shocking exit, this is hardly surprising.I think most of the actors are ready to move on,especially Paul.

  2. I think she is playing a bit hard to get and expects a raise for S08 ;-) JK, mostly at least.
The silly thing is that she thinks she will be more featured in S07 and her story will get focus. Hilarious!!!!

I think it is realistic that VD will last another 8th season and maybe a shortened S09.

  3. In translation "Give me MOOOAAARRR money"

  4. LOL! Knowing the writers,Bonnie will most definitely get sidelined again after initial couple of episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Honestly I don't think Paul is the one who wants to move on. He and Phoebe playing family in Atlanta. He is in the age when he wants to settle down groom the house, make swingers parties and stuff, the usual stuff U know.
But there is the thing that I don't see TO go pass S04

    ReplyDelete
  6. Probably! Maybe she if she turns gay/bi and hooks up with one of the Lezretics she'll get a bit more screen time.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Maybe she kills that one of the chick-Nora or Mary Louise in a confrontation somehow(Let the writers figure out that part) and then develops a romantic feeling over the other one and they become a couple.LOL!

  8. When TVD ends for good,TO will last one more season max.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I think even VD could surpass it but they will most likely end at the same time. TO could eventually do 1 more summer season.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Paul is completely over the show. He's like-Whatever! It's actually hilarious. He opened said Delena sounds like a disease and Steroline sounds like the name of a sanitizer.LMAO! Whatever i could muster from his various interviews off late is that he is very passionate towards directing and TVD gives him that opportunity and a steady pay check. And his GF currently is in Atlanta-Win-win scenario.

  11. Yeah something like that would be reasonable. But the thing is Bonnie was never with a Vamp.
We'll see, maybe she goes for the Asian guy yet to cast. Oliver or what his name is.

    ReplyDelete
  12. His name is Julian, set to appear in Episode 3.

    ReplyDelete
  13. No no. Besides Julia. Another character has to be cast with Asian heritage.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Ya,i thought so.Good for her.

  15. Seeing as how i won't be watching TO this season,i will need your help on keeping me updated from time to time.

    ReplyDelete
  16. All the things Ur listed are and I think he is fine atm and will stick around for S08 at least. After that he can try to be the artistic guy he wants to be. (puked in my mouth a bit)

  17. Way to negotiate ( telling the world ... and ... Julie your willing to leave) a new contract and ensure you get a major front burner storyline next season as well as a raise. You go Ms., Graham. See you in season eight.

  18. U have nothing to worry. I'll keep U posted.
TO is the show I worry the most currently, from creative standpoint. TO, Scandal and Scorpion. All possible droppers for me.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I knew i could count on you :D
Funny thing i tried all these 2 shows you mentioned-Dropped them both.Scandal is too melodramatic & Scorpion is too make-believe for my taste.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Or give me important storylines that make sense...

    ReplyDelete
  21. I started to watch Scandal the summer before its 3rs season. And after a slowish start they really improved in all departments. And S2 and S3 were oustanding just like S4A. My biggest issue with Scandal is Olitz. I really hope a shooter takes him out for good this season.
Scorpion I enjoy cause of the funny dynamic but already towards the end of the season it felt to repetitive.

  22. I just could've take Olivia's melodrama every episode. She behaves and talks like it's the end of the world, the apocalypse has arrived on our doorsteps.GTFO!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ohh yes Olivia is aggressive. She really steals the show. I like it but I see where is gets annoying for other people.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Actually it makes less sense than you think.Hahaha.

    ReplyDelete
  25. With these mid 0 ratings there may not even be a S8

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ya,it's like her soap opera mode is always on.As for Olitz,i liked their chemistry even though i knew it is never going to happen for them.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Their chemistry is fine but he just can't handle her. Jake, the other beau introduced in S02 don't know if you watched so far, is a much better match for her. But Shonda dropped him and apparently they are sailing into Olitz land for S05.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I don't like the actor personally, the one who played Jake.As much as i know, everyone hated Jake(like 99%) and wanted to see him dead every episode. The amount of hatred is crazy if you think about it.I don't much about the character so i'm curious. What was so bad/annoying about him?

    ReplyDelete
  29. He dared to mess with people's OTP aka Olitz and that put him on the To Die ASAP list. But he survives and survies, even I wanted him dead last season cause he was shot and should've died. But Shonda saved him and I think he is to Shonda what Ian is to Julie, she really really likesadores him him.
Tonight I'll watch the last 4 eps of Grey's S11. Not sure if I'm ready for it.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Best of luck.I still couldn't drop the show.I have so many characters i've grown fond of.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Season 7 numbers will be scary without Delena fandom tuning in.If by miracle they get another season, that will be it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. They are currently rerunning S09 on tv and I've got nostalgic. I'm so torn, don't know if I should really drop it or continue to watch on fall.
    Probably will know after tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Let me know how it goes.BTW,which shows did you binge watch this hiatus so far?

    ReplyDelete
  34. CW won't drop the franchise for sure. I even think they will maybe try with another spin off when Julie feels the ground beneath her feet shaking and extend the franchise in a new direction, with a wolf pack, witches or a "new species". She'll find a way to stay close.
Overall it will be interesting to see how both shows will perform number wise.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Will TVD ever get syndicated?

    ReplyDelete
  36. The numbers will be interesting, but I think they will keep over 0,6 till midseason. Everything after that will be really O.o

    ReplyDelete
  37. There won't even be an eighth season, cause the ratings will be too low....yep I can see into the future.

Nina Dobrev leaving was the last straw.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I sure will.
Currently I'm watching Nip/Tuck already at S05, before that I was studying a lot. I intend to watch American Crime and Heroes till Fall season. I wanted to watxh Orphan Black but with Heroes Reborn coming up I decided to give Heroes the chance this summer. OB will get midseason.
Btw just caught a movie with Yusuf Gatewood and Nicole Kidman. O.o

  39. I used to LOVE TVD to the death in the early seasons mostly for the storyline, the characters an then the ships. But yeah since S3 it's sad but I just watch for the ships (first Delena then Bamon) and a few other things there and there (Caroline, Katerine, Caroline/Liz and Katerine/Nadia). So yeah now, I just love Bonnie and Damon and I watch just for those two characters. So yeah if Kat leave too, bye bye TVD....

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm a big fan of tvd but I think it's time to end it. No show should have more than 6 seasons because writers usually screw it up. They run out of ideas and you have to watch how a show that was great once turns into a soap opera with ridiculous storylines. I know the CW likes to exploit the shows but I don't want tvd to turn into another Supernatural or Smallville.

Well, hopefully the rest of the actors will fall in line, and son, so they can pen this season a last season and tie most of the storylines in a pretty bow.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I am almost about to drop TVD. I hated Elena since the beggining, but I loved Katherine, Tatia and I found Amara really freaky, but I have never, ever cared about Elena. Tyler and Jeremy are the same for me: Two characters that could've had a great storyline but no one really explored it. Right now, I'm only watching for Bonnie, Caroline and Stefan, but for the sake of the show, if Kat Graham exists the show, I hope Caroline moves to The Originals and they end the story with a shorter season with only the Salvatore Brothers, once again just the two alone, searching for something to complete them, just like the show started and maybe, just maybe, they can bump up with another Petrova Doppelgänger.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I hated her, since the pilot......and now(season 6), when she just became bearable, and I actually want so see her - she's dropping out.....lucky f'n me)

    ReplyDelete
  44. RickyForeverDelena25 July 2015 at 17:23

I think she´s just saying that to get some attention, it´s hard to get jobs and Caroline said she has job insurance for like 3 more seasons, why would she leave? It´s so obvious the actors stay for the money now, the series is a disaster now

    ReplyDelete
  45. I hope she does leave tbh, I never really had any opinion on Bonnie until season 6 when I started to hate her.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'M not so sure if I'm back for an 8th season
    There's just no need
It will eventually become Supernatural, you know.
Too much seasons and too many (interesting) storylines.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm going to be watching the originals this season with a possibility of dropping it, last season just was a mess IMO. and I dropped Scandal this season after the kidnapping SL ended and never watched scorpion. On another note I'm gunna start POI today :D

    ReplyDelete
  48. Lol Julie Plec says she doesn't see it ending after season 7 so I'm sure even if it has low ratings a season 8 will happen

    ReplyDelete
  49. If Bonnie is out for season 8 (if there is one) I'm not to sure what I'll do. She's been my favorite character since season 1 and TVD will really not be the same without her

    ReplyDelete
  50. See! I'm pretty sure that Paul will be leaving in S7 because he said that TVD has to come to an end and he is a 32 year old playing a 17 year old. In short, he's tired and ready to move on just like Nina and Steven.
Julie needs to stop dragging the show on like this. Everyone is getting to old to keep playing these characters and the show needs to be wrapped up because to me, the show has lost it's appeal.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Let me know if you like it.I'm planning to watch it soon, your feedback might help.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Smallville did reclaim and become good in the last two seasons. (Through the finale total let down Darkseid wise- he's a God for fuck's sake and not even a fight or no omega beams come on) Supernatursal through, I'm just gonna say it should've ended at five.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I doubt that, with the counting expansion and popularity of the Arrowverse I could see the need for TVD ending. It probably will get a eighth season though.

    ReplyDelete
  54. If they can move on without Elena(remains to be seen), they can do it without Bonnie as well. Hell, Bonnie was non existent for most of the series. They could've cut her a long time ago, I even expected it at one point.

Now, if Ian or Paul announces their departure, then I think we can rightfully call for an end to the series.

    ReplyDelete
  55. keep in mind that the Arrowverse is ONE franchise, a network needs more than one franchises to stay relevant.

And I wouldn't count on Arrow/Flash always being a sure hit, at some point the ratings will decline. I hope the decline will be minor but it will come eventually and that's the point the franchise will prove its significance for theCW

    ReplyDelete
  56. Julie wants to do a season 8 but most of trhecast wants to leave. Im haoppy if they end up things in two more seasons even if it's short but i guess it will all depend on the ratings

    ReplyDelete
  57. Of course it can't rely on one thing, but that one thing for now is a ratings hit for the CW. It'll decline but Mac that decline isn't happening anytime soon (and given it's a franchise as long as heroes are popular it can continue to exist). But in the mean time they continue to try to create better programming each year. But it is currently the most successful thing on the CW. Unlike TVD, which is becoming a older less important success wise show.

    ReplyDelete
  58. yeh, TO does mostly repeat the same plot over and over and brings nothing new to the table worth keeping it, so i dropped it.
