Stitchers - Fire In The Hole - Preview: “Heated Emotions”

Every show must have a defining episode that changes dynamics and delivers major story reveals. For Stitchers this is that episode and it delivers on everything you’d hope for. The entire episode takes place within the lab and that helps drive the tension the characters are experiencing as their lives are put at risk by a deadly virus. The actors deliver one stunning performance after another accented by the occasional sarcastic moment to help break up the tension. Character relationships are at the heart of Stitchers and the closeness of these relationships are a primary focus as multiple characters take hefty risks in the name of those they care about. These people aren’t just co-workers or even friends, they are family and family will go to extreme lengths for one another, as this episode proves.

Kirsten has her biggest emotional breakthrough this week in an intense and important scene with Maggie. Emma Istha has mastered her control over Kirsten’s emotional barriers and this week she walks such a fine line of emotional connection and disconnect that you can’t help but feel Kirsten’s emotions screaming to be free. The acting choices Emma makes in this episode are nothing short of exemplary as she guides Kirsten through a tough and emotionally intense day. While all their lives are on the line this week, there is one moment where Kirsten has to find a way to connect with Camille and guide her through a particularly traumatic moment. Both Emma and Allison deserve props for this moment as they both delivered on the tension and levity the scene demanded. The show has been building all these personal bonds for Kirsten and this week is a big payoff as she realizes how much each of these people means to her and what she is willing to do for them.

Camille takes a big risk for the team and faces down a major fear. We learn a bit about her past and yet we still really know nothing about where she comes from. What little information we do get leads to a whole new set of questions. Camille is, without question, the one Kirsten has the strongest bond with, don’t hate me shippers but Cameron still has a ways to go to catch up to Camille, and this week we get to see what these two women mean to each other. It’s not just Kirsten that matters to her, because when she needs motivation to keep fighting it is one other special name that strikes up her will to not give up.

Cameron finally tells Kirsten about the scar she saw on his chest. I won’t spoil it because Kyle Harris delivers the explanation in such a raw and truthful way that I don’t want anyone hindered when they watch the scene. There is a tough story to his past and it has most certainly helped shape him into the man we have come to know. When the odds begin to stack against the team he pushes Kirsten to connect with her emotions in a way we haven't seen him do yet.

Linus has it rough this week as the virus hits him the hardest. We get a brief introduction to his parents and I cannot wait to see more of them in the future. I’ll say this, Linus definitely got his personality from his parents and the actors playing them make an outstanding duo. Ritesh Rajan is great at playing the comedic moments, but he also packs a powerful emotional punch that will hit viewers right in the emotional gut.

Maggie, in the heat of the danger, drops her veil and we get to see the humanity hidden under her tough government exterior. We gets hint of someone from her past and that should be interesting to see unfold if the show chooses to continue with that story. She seems to have quite a complicated past that will surely lend itself to some interesting stories in the future. As I mentioned above, Maggie and Kirsten have a heart-to-heart moment and both actresses absolutely nail the moment.

You cannot miss this episode, so clear your schedules and tune into ABC Family at 9/8C on Tuesday then be sure to return to SpoilerTV for Prpleight J's detailed review.

I like to play a little game on my other previews, so here is your chance to earn a couple extra tidbits about Tuesday’s episode. If you guess all the speakers right that is worth one spoiler and if you can guess the recipients of those quotes that is also worth an extra spoiler. Someone has the potential to earn two spoilers for the character(s) of their choice. Drop your guesses in the comments and have fun.

“I love it when you talk science to me.”
“Everyone I care about is in here with me.”
“You know you are carrying a deadly virus in your system that could wipe out the entire human species, so…so listen, if you want to play the who is more disgusting to whom game, I think you actually win."
“You’re not the only one around here who has trouble showing their emotions.”
“Well, considering the only thing this lab is able to do about a biohazard is ring alarm bells…not great.”

  4. The spoiler is earned by guessing all 5 right, but I do provide hints if you want to take a go at all 5. If you get all 5 speakers right that's good for a spoiler and same if you get all 5 recipients right. You seem to be pretty in tune with the show, so give it a go! It's a fun way for spoilers to be earned.

  7. Quote 4 is DEFINITELY Cameron talking to Kirsten, so it's safe to say that ALL character have beautiful moments? Cameron and Kirsten included? Okay here are my other guesses (i love that you're doing for Stitchers too, no just for Dark Matter) quote 1: Linus to Camille, quote 2: Kirsten to Baptiste, quote 3: Cameron to Kirsten, quote: 4 Cameron to Kirsten, quote 5: Linus to Camille

  8. I have a great Liam spoiler for you if you can guess all 5 quote speakers or recipients right.

  9. I'm glad to see you giving this a go! You did really good on the last round of this game for Dark Matter.

None of the speakers are right.
    1 recipient is right.

Hint: 2 of these quotes are spoken by the same character.

Hint: Cameron only speaks one of these quotes.
Hint 2: Every quote is said to a different character, meaning none of the recipients repeat.

  17. I don't think I've seen Vixx posting on Stitchers posts, so I think you're on your own here. I have faith in you. How about this, I'll give you a list of all the speakers and all you have to do is match them with the right quotes!

On this guess you have 2 speakers right and 1 recipient right.

Epic Hint: All the speakers (just match them with the right quotes!)
    Cameron
    Camille
    KIrsten
    Kirsten
    Maggie

  18. Vixx would probably guess them all right without even seeing the show LOL, quote 1: Cameron, quote 2: Camille, quote 3: Kirsten, quote 4: Baptiste, quote 5: Kirsten

    ReplyDelete
  19. You have 3 speakers with the right quotes and the two you have wrong just need to be switched. You're very close to at least one spoiler!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hey i'l at least ONE spoiler LOL, quote 1: Cameron, quote 2: Camille, quote 3: Kirsten, quote 4: Baptiste, quote 5; Kirsten.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  23. You only have one right. Ironically it was one you had wrong in your last guess.

Hint: The list I gave you are the exact speakers. Kirsten speaks 2 of these quotes.

    ReplyDelete
  24. ARGH!!! quote 1: Cameron, quote 2: Kirsten, quote 3: Camille, quote 4: Baptiste, quote 5 Kirsten

    ReplyDelete
  25. You have 1 of the speakers matched up right.

    Here are quote specific hints:
    1) Said at the start of a stitch sequence.
    2) I kind of hinted at who the speaker of this in the above character previews.
    3) Also hinted at this in 2 of the above character previews for the episode.
    4) Said during an emotional moment.
    5) One of the more tech oriented folks.

  26. Quote 1: Cameron, quote 2: Baptiste, quote 3: Kirsten, quote 4: Kirsten, quote 5: Camille.

    ReplyDelete
  27. You have 1 right.

Hint: Kirsten's 2 quotes are not said in adjacent quotes.
Epic Hint: Quotes 2 and 5 are said by characters whose first name starts with a C.

  28. Quote 1: Kirsten, quote 2: Camille, quote 3: Baptiste, quote 4: Kirsten, quote 5: Cameron.

    ReplyDelete
  29. You have 3 right now. The two you have wrong are in the middle and just need to be reversed.

Hint:Kirsten's 2 quotes are both odd numbered one.

  30. Speakers: Q1: Cameron, Q2: Kristen, Q3: Camille, Q4: Maggie, Q5: Kristen

    ReplyDelete
  31. You have 1 speaker right.

I was helping someone else that is guessing and gave them the 5 speakers. See if you can put them in the right order:

    Cameron
    Camille
    Kirsten
    Kirsten
    Maggie

    ReplyDelete
  32. Quote 1: Kirsten, quote 2: Camille, quote 3: Kirsten, quote 4: Baptiste, quote 5: Cameron.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I think I'm as excited to type this as you will be to read it, but you got them all right!

    ReplyDelete
  34. WHOA AWESOME!!!!!!! You're right, so what do i ask now?

    ReplyDelete
  35. All of the speakers have been guessed right. They are in order:

    Kirsten
    Camille
    Kirsten
    Maggie
    Cameron

Knowing the speakers does anyone want to tackle the recipients for 1 more extra spoiler?

    ReplyDelete
  36. You tell me which character you want the spoiler for or, since you know the speakers, you try and guess who they are speaking to for another spoilers. Your choice!

    ReplyDelete
  37. 1: Cameron, 2: Maggie, 3: Kristen, 4: Kristen, 5: Camille

    ReplyDelete
  38. Someone actually guessed all the speakers right already, but there is still one more spoiler up for grabs if you can take the speakers and figure out who they were speaking to. Guessing all the recipients right is also worth a spoiler.

    They are in order:

    Kirsten
    Camille
    Kirsten
    Maggie
    Cameron

    ReplyDelete
  39. My head would blow up if i start guessing the recipients LOL, i'll take Cameron since he might lose his chance with Kirsten because of that foreigner.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Recipients: 1: Cameron, 2: Kristen, 3: Cameron 4: Kristen, 5: Linus

    ReplyDelete
  41. Cameron intentionally pushes Kirsten closer to Liam, but granted it all happens when they are near death and his intentions are noble. I think this whole incident actually brings the core group closer together as they fight for their lives. Since I think you're a Camsten shipper here's an extra little something that you should be happy with: Liam technically doesn't appear in this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  42. You got two of the recipients right.

Hint: No quote is said to the same character meaning all 5 main characters are the recipient of one of these quotes.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Why would Cameron do that? Thank you for that liam news, but unfortunately he's in the next one right?

    ReplyDelete
  44. 1: Cameron, 2: Linus, 3: Camille, 4: Kristen, 5: Maggie

    ReplyDelete
  45. Once you see it in the context of the episode you will understand. Yeah, I think Liam sticks around a bit longer. I personally don't trust the guy, so I hope whatever his intentions are they are revealed soon.

    ReplyDelete
  46. That was fast! You've just earned yourself extra info about any character of your choice.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'll go with Camille. I loved that actress in Warehouse 13.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Ok i hope so, and now the big question: will seeing it make me lose hope on them getting together? I think this time i'm right LOL, the guy in the picture IS Kirsten's dad.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Camille is a great choice. I'm a big Allison fan dating back to her Warehouse 13 days too.

When two of the people who mean the most to her become the first two to show symptoms she kicks into high gear and volunteers for a tricky mission to give them, and the group, a fighting chance. She will try and nurse one of them while also struggling against the virus herself. It shows a truly vulnerable side to her that we've not yet gotten to see. When another attempt to save themselves begins to fail we get to see Camille angrier then we ever have before.

    ReplyDelete
  50. It's not addressed in this episode, so I can join you in agreeing on that speculation. I think he is Kirsten's dad and after something we learn in this episode I'm convinced we're in store for quite an interesting storyline involving him.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Cool and will i start losing hope in Kirsten and Cameron getting together because of what he does in the episode? It seems pretty final because of what he does?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Would you say this episode is a tearjerker? Is there any levity before all hell breaks loose, i saw the sneak peeks and they have some levity to them but after that is there any more?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Are the Camsten scenes breath-stopping like in when she saw him shirtless?

    ReplyDelete

This show is really great. I would hope that we will find out Maggie's connection to Kirsten besides Ed Clark. I did read the season finale will be a lot of action and I hope we find out why kirsten dad's left and what he has been doing and liam's purpose.
