Thanks to RD for the heads up.
Shadowhunters looks like True Blood
At least that’s what author Cassandra Clare thinks after seeing the sizzle reel recently. The author added that this adaptation of her books looks to be ‘a little edgier’.

  1. That's not necessarily a good thing.

  2. I keep trying to finish True Blood, and I left off at season 5 but by the time I'm a couple episodes in and then and just so not motivated that by the time I think to do it again I have to start over ha

Nope, no incest. Her father leads them to believe that for a while, but once her mom wakes up, she clears the situation up.

  7. We learn that in book 3, City of Glass.

  8. I think she just means that in how its much darker, edgier. I think it'll be a good thing.

Probably PLL due to Ezra/Aria, since Aria was (or still is) under 18 its both pedophilia and rape.

  10. Well, it's not supposed to. They totally missed the tone of the books. And when this trainwreck airs, don't you dare compare it to True Blood, Cassandra. You're not that talented. Obviously, neither is the crew of the show.

  11. Phew okay, then i'll try it, also what kind of sick person leads someone to believe that?

  12. Doubt it is like TB. I assume they will heat up a bit on the sexy time but nothing more.

TB was gross and explicit at times, doubt SH will go even near those extremes. I assume she said it regarding the darker tone they'll probably go for.

  13. Someone who wants to cause pain because he obviously sees a weakness?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Ya,right.That'll help the show for sure!LOL!

  15. You just can't let it go,right?

  16. So when she found out did she leave him?

  17. Never and no one should ship or be an advocate for it, come on even you have to admitit. For a channel that's supposedly for families, they're basically saying "it's okay to violate a minor if you're in love" ugh, makes me sick!

  18. I don't condone it but The thing is i loved Ezria in Season 1 & 2 very much but then they lost their appeal.I,for one, don't try to apply this type of real world rules to a fictional show like PLL.Otherwise it would be impossible to enjoy anything with so nitpicking.I get where you're coming from but you talking about it isn't gonna make the showrunners drop the idea.In fact,i have some news for you.As per spoilers,Ezria will be married after the time leap with a child.Good luck with that.My friendly suggestion-Let it go,you'll feel much better.

  19. I've been thinking of doing that actually, but it's still disgusting that they created this storyline. The time-jump would make it okay because she'd be legal but noooo, they had them be in a so-called relationship when she was a minor. Thanks for the advice but it's pet peeve of mine that i don't think will go anywhere, thank you though, i mean it.

  20. I dunno if she says it in a good way or ina bad way, in recent tweets she had said that the series is different from the books but she liked some of teh changes and in others appears that she hates what they are doing completely. Get a grip woman!
I'll wait for teh trailer or soemthing to really see if i like it or not, I believe they will air one by the PLL Summer Finale.

Valentine is completely deranged, besides there are some circumstancies that make it seem plausible. I can't say without spoiling you, sorry!

  22. Okay, pedophilia is engaging in sexual acts with a prepubescent minor. aka children. Aria's almost 18, it's not pedophilia in the slightest. Furthermore, the age of consent in the state of Pennsylvania is 16, so she's past it.

The only thing wrong with the relationship is was the teacher/student aspect of it, which admittedly a pretty big no.

However it's neither pedophilia nor rape.

Well, I wouldn't be surprise if she hated it, after all is her vision they're twiking. I wasn't a True Blood fan, so to me, even if she meant it in a good way, it's a bad thing.

  24. The subject of incest does exist in this book series, but it's not between Jace and Clary even though they believe they are siblings for a period of time. It depends if this show is successful enough to make it past the third book to see if this subject and the character(s) involved is faithful to the books or not.

Having "Shadowhunters" be a little edgier than the books and/or the movie isn't really a bad thing. The first book could've used a bit more of an edge IMO. What I don't understand is the casting of Hodge. The actor that was cast does not match the description of the books' character at all.

  25. You should really Google what pedophilia is, it's not what you think it is.

I never said I agree with it, but that whole Aria/Ezra thing comes up fairly often with 'pedophilia' and 'rape' being the common complaints (even though they aren't exactly accurate).

Personally I don't mind them. Spencer/Toby are the couple that annoy me (mainly because of how they've been writing Toby ever since he became a cop).

"The age of consent in Pennsylvania is 16"
Technically, but the law is much deeper then that. The law also states that corruption of a minor is illegal ( http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/legis/LI/consCheck.cfm?txtType=HTM&ttl=18&div=0&chpt=63 ), meaning that while the age of consent is 16 they cannot have sex with someone over the age of 18.

The first time they had sex and even began dating, Aria was 16, meaning anyone over the age of 18 who she has sex with or dates (Ezra) is classified as 'Corruption of a minor' which falls under rape (Statutory rape in particular).

Furthermore the state does still consider 16 as a minor, despite being legal for sex with other 16-17 year old. Which makes the statutory rape also fall under pedophilia through the Ephebophilia classification (a minor who is above the age of 15).

  28. It's razy how she thinks at first she loved teh movie and was happy with it and then she started bashing the movie when they said they were gonna do the stv show and yesterday she said the girl dressed like sluts when she knows and she wrote Clary wore one of Isabelle's shirts as a dress for Magnus' party.
That's why im not gonna say no till iw atch the trailer or something, clearly she doesnt know if she likes it or hates it.

  29. I WANT to be spoiled though LOL, that's why i asked.

  30. Thanks and yeah i understand that.

I don't know how to use spoiler tags here, otherwise I would. But google it, write something along the lines of "Valentine's relationship with/to Jace", or just wiki it, I'm jure TMI has a wikia. Sorry!

  32. Kind of. They both agreed not to pursue anything.. but you can see how torn they are and that they can't quite believe it..
