EAnarky is coming to "Arrow" in the show's upcoming fourth season, and CBR has the exclusive first word on who will be playing the role: Alexander Calvert, who has previously been seen in "Bates Motel" and "The Returned." It's a recurring role for Calvert, who will debut in the role in the second episode of "Arrow" season four.

ReplyDeleteI don't panic! I love those characters and their relationships, romantic and familial, so I feel bad for them. Their pain hurts me. Also I'm emotionally invested in those relationships so of course it hurts when I see them not getting along. Like Oliver and Diggle. I'm not panicking that they won't be as close as they were. I'm sad to see that beautiful relationship broken because I love them both, and I know how important they are for each other.

Since this show likes to introduce a character at a early stage it makes sense to start Anarky earlier stages but won't be surprise by season end he will be on his own

But they refuse to apologize because their prideful as hell. Aren't they in the wrong? Isn't it their responsibility as the "good close friend" to take the prideful behavior out their ass and just apologize, even though they don't want to? I mean I KNOW that if I upset my friend, i'd let a few days go by, let them and myself cool down, THEN i'd apologize for upsetting them in the first place. ReplyDeleteThey also repel each other. This show really doesn't seem to go for the dating catwoman/ draco in leather pants trope (which only works if done very carefully and with law-breaking villains not killers) . So unless she doesn't know he's Anarky. Their relationship will be more violent.

But right now I'm particularly looking forward to the animated Killing Joke adaptation. I just hope they cast Mark Hamill (he really wants to voice for it) and Kevin Conroy. Since they're the definitive actors for the characters to me.

ReplyDeleteIt's not bad. But it really does go to Heath. Like Hamill said, (and i totally agree) what he did was very original. This cartoon video, it's not bad, but its just too...clean. That's the only way i can put it. THIS...this is it.
What he did was iconic and original (if very inspired by the Killing Joke and the darker versions of comic Jokers). And he nailed that take on the character and obsession with Batman. But Hamill can do something that even Ledger's Joker couldn't that was a key element to who the Joker is and his persona. He could be both a harmless jokester, yet also a violent, unpredictable psychopath. A man who knows what a virulent monster he is yet doesn't care seeing life as one big joke. At once the harmless silver age Joker (as seen in BTAS episode: Joker Fish), yet also the brutal Bronze/dark age one who could murder teens with a crowbar and bomb all with a smile on his face (as in Batman Beyond, all Arkham games(. And that is why despite the phenomenal work of Ledger, all just prefer and think that Hamill is the definitive Joker. His voice can do any kind of Joker, at once or at a time. ReplyDeleteI agree actually. I think Hamill can pull off what Heath couldn't. but i also feel (and this is just me) that Heath could pull off what Hamill couldn't. But the laugh...that will always DEFINITELY go to Hamill. (and I just had a Batman Marathon for the fun of it that same day so everything you just said is clear in my mind) I would say the closest person to do that laugh, would be Nicholson's. And believe me i was totally biased. I was one of those fans that were all, "Wtf Heath Leger??" I hateddddd when the picture came out. I couldn't stand it. And i did love Heath Ledger, but as the joker i couldn't see it. BUT when the trailer came out, i was curious. Then it kept showing on tv, more and more, and just his little flashes in the commercials, did it for me. I was very excited for TDK. I have to disagree a little on the joking part. I think Heath held his own with that. Sure he could've done more, (harmless jokster) but this was a darker movie, (different time) and he wanted to make it completely different from Nicholson's, from Hamill's, from Romero's, and dammit man he did!! He owned that. And when you can make, millions of people, laugh hysterically, just by saying, "HI" that's....that's GOLD!!! No one's touching that. Ya know and i can't tell you how many men, i saw dressed in a Nurse's uniform for Halloween, after that movie was released. I mean Holy Shit!! And out of all the adaptations, as much as i love Hamill and Nicholson, for me, they couldn't pull off the "chilling delivery". Ya got, the psychotic, ya got the joking, ya got the maniacal laugh, etc etc. For me, i always got, from both of them, especially Hamill, the "omg this guy is so sick. He's totally demented but he's hilarious. But man he's a wack job." But i never felt the "okay he means business let's GTFOH. Hurry up!!" When he spoke. His facial expressions, sure, but when watching i could never raise my eyebrows and say, "Ohh crap!" And that's what i get from Ledger. He took it to a completely different level. And i respect him so much for it. This has to be my favorite line of his........

t was also related as it was about Anarky (who's a Batman villain and will be on Arrow) then got into Joker stuff. Okay, but that feels really gratuitous in this situation.
