American Crime is bringing back another key cast member from Season 1. SARAH SILVERMAN RETURNS TO MASTERS OF SEX FOR MULTI-EPISODE ARC

Third Season Premieres July 12 At 10 PM ET/PT On SHOWTIME®

LOS ANGELES, CA June 24, 2015 --- Emmy®-winning comedian and actress Sarah Silverman will reprise her role as “Helen” on the third season of MASTERS OF SEX premiering July 12 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME. Starring Emmy and Golden Globe® nominee Michael Sheen and Emmy nominee Lizzy Caplan as real-life pioneers of human sexuality, William Masters and Virginia Johnson, MASTERS OF SEX chronicles their unusual lives, romance and pop-culture trajectory. Masters and Johnson’s research touched off the sexual revolution and took them from a mid-western teaching hospital in St. Louis to the cover of Time magazine. In the third season, the reunited Helen and Betty (Tony® Award winner Annaleigh Ashford) are trying to have a baby, which unquestionably proves quite a challenge for a lesbian couple in 1966.

Season three of the series is set when the famed duo Masters and Johnson are dealing with the glare of the national spotlight as their sex study is finally unveiled. Masters and Johnson’s work will have a profound impact on contemporary relationships, especially their own evolving three-way “marriage” with Masters’ wife Libby (Caitlin FitzGerald). The series is an adaptation of Thomas Maier's book Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, The Couple Who Taught America How To Love. MASTERS OF SEX was developed for television by Michelle Ashford (The Pacific) who also serves as an executive producer. In addition, the series is executive produced by Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Amy Lippman, Dave Flebotte, and Judith Verno. Michael Sheen, Tammy Rosen and Thomas Maier serve as producers. MASTERS OF SEX is produced by Sony Pictures Television.

Two-time Emmy winner Sarah Silverman is a versatile performer with a repertoire that includes everything from television and film to stand-up comedy and iconic online videos. She added author to this list when she released The New York Times Bestseller, The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption, and Pee. She was awarded a 2014 Primetime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special category for her comedy special We Are Miracles, which was also nominated for Outstanding Variety Special, and she received a WGA nomination as well. An album of the special was released in September 2014 which earned her a 2015 Grammy® nomination for Best Comedy Album. Silverman will next be seen in the lead role of the drama feature I Smile Back which debuted at Sundance earlier this year and in the feature film Ashby opposite Mickey Rourke and Emma Roberts.

She recently wrapped production on a comedy pilot for HBO which she will executive produce and star in. Sarah Silverman received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Leading Actress in a Comedy Series for The Sarah Silverman Program, and was also nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for Monk. She won an Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics as a writer of a song for "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Silverman’s feature film credits include A Million Ways to Die in the West, Wreck-It Ralph, Take This Waltz, and Sarah Silverman: Jesus Is Magic. Additionally, Silverman is a part of JASH, a comedy collective on YouTube featuring original content by Silverman (and friends Michael Cera, Tim & Eric and Reggie Watts).

  5. Ugh those Mr Robot synopsis/titles please don't try to be down with the youth and use netspeak. I know its a hacker show but just no.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yep, they want to be "hip" but these titles and synopses just come off annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Completely, stop trying so hard show.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Wow that Paranormal Activity movie actually looks really good! I haven't really enjoyed one since the first and maybe second one.

    Love Reign cover

  10. Toby is back :D
Let's hope that they finally wrap up their storyline in The Ghost Dimension. They've been dingle-dangeling this plot in front of our noses for 4 movies now and only revealed bits and parts (plus: the spin-off didn't show much either).

That 100 cover doesn't look final to me, usually WB box sets have a colored frame containing the "Complete [] Season" Text.

  11. Is he even still a main character? Haven't watched since episode 4 but from all I gathered that triangle is done

    ReplyDelete
  12. Praying Falling Water gets a pickup, it sounds so interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I liked all of them but to be fair this one finally introduces something new to the fold with the ghosting camera. The problem with the Paranormal Activity franchise is that it has way more storyline than it should have. The storyline is actually petty excellent but just confusing to the average viewer (Part 3 is a prequel, 1/2 play at the same time and lead into another while 4 is an actual continuation).

4 could have added the webcam angle to show the demons but they missed that opportunity

    ReplyDelete
  14. I think it was the 3rd one I got bored because it was more of the same thing. I like the story though, I always find it difficult to find an actual scary horror movie with a good story. I still haven't watched the 4th one or The Marked Ones but I'll probably watch them now since Ghost Dimension looks good, plus it's the last one as well.

  15. I hate that the gramma is the one that started it all, the end of that movie wrecked me.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Not exactly the right place to ask but have you heard anything about the episode orders?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I really like titles for TV shows that are a little bit off center or obscure. My favorite Homeland episode title is "New Car Smell" for example. I think the titles of the episodes are clever.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Agreed about Falling Water. Also hoping for Paradise Pictures from USA as well.

    ReplyDelete
  19. So when a love triangle ends,a character who gets dumped isn't a main character anymore?Good to know.

  20. Brandy Danforth24 June 2015 at 16:40

Unfortunately no.Maybe when production starts in a week, one if the cast /crew will tweet bout or maybe CW will confirm it at July Summer TCAs

    ReplyDelete
  21. I think it's actually clever to title the episodes like a video file, if only they didn't substitute certain letters with numbers. But I agree on the synopses, they were awful.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The episode titles I could deal with but the descriptions are too much.

    ReplyDelete
  23. That caught me so of guard in 3. I mean, I LOVED how creepy it was seeing the dad walking in on these old hags during their ritual and it became apparent that the grandmother was in fact part of that cult that offered the girls to Toby.

The franchise is brutally underrated IMO.
Sure there're many sequels but in this franchises case it actually makes sense

    ReplyDelete
  24. 3 was the one that played in the early 80s. With all the old video equipment.

True, there're not too many horror flicks out there that still follow through with a storyline. Most are just reboots that do their jobs way worse than the originals did (for example: NIghtmare on Elm Street, Poltergeist).

The only really well made horror flicks of the past few years were: Silent Hill (based on a video game true but still good), As Above So Below, Conjouring and Insidious (not part 2).

    ReplyDelete
  25. Many people said it's stupid but i quite like them, tho i think im missing one moviee i havent seen yet. I still wonder if they will do one with the girl that survived the second movie.
Have you seen the latest Insidious movie ?, I like those too, they are not that scary but they make for a great time.

    ReplyDelete
  26. On a show like Reign it does, from what I remember the show was very romance heavy in its early episodes. So the idea that a ship dictates someones importance isn't that far fetched.

Hell, when Delena became the main ship of TVD in season 4 Stefan fell into the background more and more. Same for Tyler when Klaroline started.

    ReplyDelete
  27. That's because when something becomes a franchise people automatically complain. Wich one? 4 or The Marked Ones?
They did, the woman that survives 2 is possesed by Toby and hunts down her son (the baby in 4).

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yeah that one. Thanks for telling me. I will for a link to download it.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Agreed. Insidous part two lacked that "effect" that had the first part. The monsters in p2 looked mre like people playing in a hounted house that everything else. This part on the frst one alwasy gets me.

  33. Us: I really like Katims, and he does well with interpersonal relationship stuff, but boy is that description vague...

The Brink: Kinda liking the way the show is funny yes, but also somewhat serious...

Hey! Haven't seen Julian McMahon in anything in ages!
