Star Trek: Captain Worf - Information Revealed + CBS Has Shown Some Interest

3 Jun 2015

Sitting down with Cinema Source, Dorn revealed that his proposed Captain Worf series would take place after the events of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, but before those of Star Trek: Nemesis. So far, so intriguing.

He also suggested that Worf would have a tough Starfleet love interest, and that the character (Worf, not the love interest) would have no real allegiance to either the Klingon Empire or Starfleet, having moved on into a brand-new phase in his life. Dorn's idea for the show would have a somewhat different Klingon society, too, with humans and Starfleet officers having been integrated into the daily life of the Klingon homeworld, Qo'noS'.

Dorn mentioned that CBS and Paramount showed some interest in the idea, but not enough to financially back a pilot, which would need a lot of money for the extensive (and expensive) amount of FX needed for such a series. Dorn even puts the number at $3 million.

A campaign has launched and will run till the end of June to show CBS that fans are interested in the series. For more information on the campaign, check out Cinema Source.

  1. I thought they had another Star Trek show in the works. I had seen something up on IMDB listed for around 2017 or later. I don't have the link now. You have to go through all the upcoming tv projects for the next few years. There was something Trek in there.

Star Trek: Federation has been in the works for some time. Rumor is it'll be announced after the 3rd movie.

  3. I think I saw Federation listed, but there was something else. Lots of things get listed on IMDB, but sometimes they are just pilots that never fly.

  4. idk about new trek series because it would really seem odd after all this time or it just seems like a while since we had one, but im not a fan if the newer films much either really. Then enterprise was a bit iffy for me as well.

  6. I'd love a new trek show just not this one. Worf is one of my least favourite Trek characters.

  7. I really don't see them doing a trek show in original trek universe.

  8. I know reestablishing the movie franchise was a priority, but I'm surprised CBS hasn't pulled the trigger on a new series. Worf wouldn't have even come close to being a character from a previous series, I'd build a show around, though.

  9. Worf was always my least favorite character. This show doesn;t sound so great either.

  11. I'm worried if this project doesn't get much support CBS is going to spend the next ten years comfortably convinced Trek fans don't know what they're talking about and there really is no demand out there for a new show. I hope I'm wrong, because I could definitely see this thing not getting the support Mr. Dorn desires, but I'm also definitely convinced there are many of us who would like a new Star Trek show on the air in general.

  12. A Work mini-series I think would do well as long as there is a definite conclusion to the series.

I do think Its time to have a Star Trek TV series back on the air. The series has had 10 years to rest and rejuvenate itself, so a new series would be great. A new series to premiere September 2016 would be great (premiering 50 years after the franchise first started|) or announce it then.
