Secrets and Lies - Season 2 - Michael Ealy Cast in Leading Role + New Case Revealed

Michael Ealy is Secrets & Lies‘ new leading man. Coming off a villainous turn on Fox’s The Following, Ealy has signed on to star opposite Juliette Lewis on the second season of ABC’s anthology crime drama series Secrets & Lies. Lewis is the only cast member from Season 1, which starred Ryan Philippe, to return, with her’ unflappable Detective Andrea Cornell taking on a brand new case, this time involving Eric Warner (Ealy) and the investigation into his wife’s murder.

Smart, well-educated and hard working, Warner is at the top of his game — he’s the heir apparent to his family’s private equity firm in Charlotte, NC, newly married to “the one” and walking on air. Eric is attending a party to honor dad passing over the reins when suddenly tragedy strikes — his wife Kate is murdered, and life, as he knows it, is over.

Sleeper Cell and Almost Human alum Ealy has signed a one-year deal as the Secrets & Lies cases are self-contained.

  5. Ealy is a very good actor who deserves to be in shows better than the Following. I thought ABC would be able to get a film actor to do the series though based on the single season/10 episode format.

  6. I liked him in Almost Human and The Following so I am good with this but I was actually hoping they would get a film actor to sign since it is just 10 episodes. I think the show could use a bigger name draw.

  7. I love him and it's based in my backyard! I love this. I still miss Almost Human.

  11. I didn't like this season but if the next one is a new story alltogether AND with Michael Ealy as the lead I might just give it a try.

  12. Sorry, wish I was a fan of hia but I don't think he's strong enough to lead the show, certainly not as good as Ryan. Not sure I'll be turning in next season.

  15. He is fine. I liked him in TF, but sometimes he missed the emotional mark and was a bit pushing it to hard.
But we shall see, the story sounds neat. Should be good.

  18. That storyline sounds great! And at least it won't be a remake anymore. Haven't seen much if Ealy but I'm sure he can take the role.

  19. Finally, I can judge how the series works without knowing everything already. Also, this sounds intriguing enough for me to check out.
