  1. Awesome season finale

  2. That was FANTASTIC!

MVP of the episode was hands down Mr. Major Lilywhite! That whole sequence of him going all Rick Grimes on us after he escaped and go back to his car, grab a shotgun and just kill every single zombie he saw inside Meat Cute was utterly one of the most badass scenes I have ever seen. Including THAT soundtrack with a version of After the Fire's Der Kommissar just made it all the more epic. THIS is what I wanted to come out of Major's character, not seeing him just pine over Liv's relationship for almost the entire season and be boring. Seeing him just be a total badass just like Liv. Rob Thomas answered my prayers! All that buildup was definitely worth it. I can't wait to see what he has in store for him next season.

I knew that Liv wasn't going to kill Blaine since David Anders is just too great to kill off in the first season but seeing Liv inject him with Ravi's zombie vaccine was awesome!! Neat plot twist. "Let me know if you survive. You're our guinea pig now." Oh hell yes!! but I'm fully expecting Blaine to come back next season bigger and better than he was before. And Major completely rejecting Liv after everything she's put him through was definitely understandable.

Suzuki blowing himself up at Meat Cute was definitely surprising! Guess he did it because he thought his food source was gone and that he would rage easily and get his cover blown. At least he gave the SPD a lead on Blaine. And hey! Clive is Lieutenant now! But oh no looks like he will be going after Major next season. Evan being blown up as well! I knew things weren't going to end well concerning Liv's brother and now that Liv is rejecting giving her blood to him, it's going to raise a lot of suspicions and she's going to have a good reason as to why she's against it... I have a feeling that we are inching closer and closer to her family finding out about her zombiism.

Looks like Max Rager/Vaughan will be the big bad next season considering now they want to kill all zombies. Wonder if Liv/Blaine will team up against the big company...that would be cool.

Overall, this finale had it all! It was bloody, exhilarating, and emotional all packed in one. What a crazy ride it was. There are going to be some big changes in season 2 for this show and I can't wait to see it! Bring on the fall.

  3. - Not happy that Bex Taylor-Klaus died.
    - Boy, Major really gave it to them.
    - I expected the Max Rager corp. to wipe out Meat Cute.
    - Looks like the lt. didn't want to become a zombie zombie.
    - I hope Liv's brother is going to die. That kid was an asshat creeper.
    - I wish we had seen Peyton pop up again before the end.

  4. How long do we wait for the second season??

  5. Excellent finale that gave us some great action with Major going terminator on the Meat Cute staff, some good reveal/conflict/new realtionship direction between Major/Liv, some good set up for next season big bad with the Max Rager angle/newly cured Blaine(?). Really curious to see what will happen with Liv's brother and her refusal to help/turn him to save him...... Excellent season that has me looking forward to next.

  6. S2 should premiere around October :)

  7. OMG, I can't believe we have to wait and see what happens now. Great finale. Alittle too convenient if the cure really works on Major and Blaine, though. I'm hoping the effects are temporary. I doubt Liv will turn her brother, but you never know.

Great scenes with Major shooting up the place. I wasn't expecting that. Can't wait for season 2.

  8. Yeah Rob Thomas has said that Major and Blaine will experience some significant side effects and repercussions to taking the zombie cure since it's not perfected as of yet. Should be interesting to see!

  9. It's The CW so definitely October

  10. AWESOME SEASON FINALE!!!!!!!!! Major is one of the most badass humans i've seen in a while, kind of disappointed that he got stabbed after such a heroic scene but for something like that to have an impact it had to be Blaine and not some thug. Liv mentioning Lowell to Blaine proved that she DID love him, her stabbing him with the cure surprised the HELL out of me, the same with Suzuki killing himself. I was really surprised when Thomas said that he was just a good man sick and tired of working for the bad guys. Now one on CW give us Season 2 already!!!! So Max Rager is our new Big Bad, interesting.

  11. Not bad of a season finale. Voted Awesome but it was probably just Good.

I didn't like that there was a bit too much focus on the case of the week for the last episode. And the fact that Peyton was missing, no aftermath of the reaction. I guess the writers want to make the reaction phase last more then 1 episode and so they will do it next season.

But other then that it was good in terms of context.
Major went Zombie hunter mode but failed to see the consequences. Where did you think Blaine was at all this time? Well he was gonna die but Liv made him a Zombie, after thinking about killed Blaine and like he said if she did she would of started the apocalypse. Then she cured both Blaine and Major, and there goes the cure. I'm sure it wont be the last of it with Max Rager now in play. And they will probably the ones who kill all the excess zombies that are out right now without food.

Liv brother got caught in the explosion, ouch. Then after what happened to with turning Major, she's not gonna go thru that again, so she say no to the blood. Well that's good. But let see if he really dies or there is some other blood supply and this will cause her mom to distance herself more from Liv.

Takeaway, I'm glad there is no cure left atm, because I want them to remain Zombie. Of Course she would have anyways for a long time.

  12. It was also because Aly Michalka was filming her failed pilot

  13. The ending stunk but the show was okay. Liv left with no true ally or room mate. Blaine left with no way to keep in business. Clive left with no boss. And Ravi left wondering where his lab rats are.

  14. Blaine's world, Blaine's world, its zombie time, most excellent. Sorry had that tune in my head ever since the finale title was announced.

Anyway this was an awesome season finale to a show which stepped up its game and had a very fun and great first season. In just 13 episodes it moved on from just being another quirky procedural to developing the supporting characters and interconnecting the various stories.

Onto the finale itself. Earlier in the season I commented how I wanted the show to find a way to keep Blaine around because David Anders is such a delight and I'm glad they found a way to keep the character but still acknowledge he is a threat. Liv either had to kill him and the show loses him or cure him and now we get to keep the fun and see where we go from there.

With the cure, I figured Liv would give it to Major after Blaine turned him but oh boy it was way more messed up with Liv turning him into the monster he spent the last few months chasing and what sent him mad. I'm really glad Major told Liv how messed up her lies were and whilst I don't want him hating her forever it does add an interesting element to their relationship.

  15. I would go as far as to say Major is the MVP of the season, well at least the second half of it. What a great character arc he had, from bland ex to zombie hunter. Not bad.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Exactly! The character has made a complete 180 since the pilot it's insane. How people still find ways to hate him just boggles my mind. He's so much more awesome now!

    ReplyDelete
  17. He really is, I can't wait to see where his story goes in S2 now that he knows the truth about Liv and survived being dead.

    ReplyDelete
  18. OMG ! that was sooooo sad :( :'(

    ReplyDelete
  19. Not so long, I was afraid it would be May 2016!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Damn. Liv's "No." was heartbreaking.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It was brilliant; I was pleased that Blaine wasn't killed off! I was worried but had faith that Rob wouldn't let a gem like Anders go that easily! (unlike previous show writers, ahem. Looking at you OuaT) I am a bit disappointed that Blaine got the cure but we don't even know if it will work 100%, so I trust Rob to give David Anders good material to work with! Seeing human Blaine trying to fake his way as still being a zombie could be interesting! We only got a glimpse of his hair changing colour in the clip at the Vet's, so I'm excited to find out

I'm glad Major didn't stay a zombie; I like his character as the human and I hope he remains human. I was so afraid that his character would stay the naive ex who'd have nothing to do with the storyline and I was so happy to see him come into his own and attack Meat Cute like that. Those scenes combined with the song choice of 'Der Kommissar' was pure genius. I've had it stuck in my head on and off all day. "Walk away from this!" Ahaha!

Liv's brother (I totally blanked on his name, oops) getting caught in the crossfire was unexpected! She is going to have some explaining to do with saying no to giving him her blood.

All in all, I can't wait for Season 2 and I really hope it gets a full 22 episodes!

  22. i believe ur right... iZombie was a mid-season replacement show so it will start again in 2016, about the same date it started this year ...☺...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh yeah no it's never that long LOL, it's not like the ABC Family scheduling.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh so so we DID see him turn human, i wasn't sure because we saw him eating but we didn't see if it had brains or not, i thought he would say something about the food. So his pigment's coming back?

    ReplyDelete
  25. This was the first episode that failed to exceed the last, and in fact, it lacked quite a bit. Don't get me wrong, if you're one likes action and doesn't care about a tight plot, this episode was very good indeed - plenty of suspense and carnage, but all of the trauma to the good guys could have been avoided if the characters merely behaved sensibly.

And this as also the first time that Ms. McIver couldn't have fun with the character whose brain she ate. He personality scarcely changed at those moments when she might have been channeling the sarcastic drummer.

As Siskel and Ebert used to say, the idiot plot is when it all falls apart if a character did what a normal person would do. For example, wo in her right mind would turn over the brains to Blaine without seeing Major first, and for that matter, what woman would meet Blaine on a lonely road much less when she knew he'd likely have a menacing entourage in tow?

And Major... he killed all the bad guys but one... the important one, yet he takes a moment to reflect and regroup? While in Blaine's own shop? Not only was Blaine unaccounted for, but he had no idea if he'd taken out all the rest.

Then there's Evan. He approaches his new place of employment, finds it utterly destroyed, yet has to have a closer look? OK, I can excuse that one as the act of an idiot kid, but he is terminally stupid... so he probably won't die.

This episode also lacked humor, as in virtually none at all. The previous installments were hilarious, but I can't remember a single funny line or happening in this one.

One more thing... Liv's a liar. It can be excused, but she is. She'd said that the next time she had the chance to pull the trigger on Blaine, she'd do it. Well... ? I guess it was just easier for the writers to keep Blaine than to try to figure out where the show would go without him, but if he's continues to be the main villain, at some point we'll realize the show has nowhere to go, and we'll simply be tuning in to see Rose do her Character of the Week.

If it sounds lie I'm down on the show, I'm not. Not every episode can be stellar, and I've absolutely loved the show up to now. But I won't let the writers substitute irrational behavior for normal human reactions simply because the former makes it easier to advance the story. Of course, you may disagree all or parts of what I've said if you're not the discriminating type. I'm just irritated that they stopped writing for me, and I hope it's just this once.

  26. Yes, but an intelligent one. Nonsense about Blaine. He's making zombies to enrich himself. In other words, the population would be much smaller but for Blaine, and in his absence, there might be some initial mayhem, though not nearly as much as liberals cause everyday. You like mindless action movies, don't you?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Nope mostly sci-fi dramas, no there would ALL chaos, Zombies could feed or turn innocent civilians and then there WOULD be a Zombie Apocalypse.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Ah, Sci-fi... same thing. Most of it's mindless. So here's where we are. You didn't give much thought to what I wrote, and instead, chose to ask if I was really a fan. Then you counter with an argument that isn't even yours, but the one Blaine voiced, and you think that made perfect sense. Except that all the zombies you know of were created by Blaine or Liv.

You (especially) have no idea how many are out there, and so far, it's self limiting in the sense that they need brains, but have no steady source. Moreover (look it up), Blaine is killing the people whose brains he needs, and you don't give that a thought.

The bottom line is that however many zombies are out there, if they start killing, the situation will become public and can be handled. When iZombie rewrote the myth, they elected not to make it a virus that everyone is carrying, but rather one that is transferred by contact. So when a zombie kills someone for a brain, that person is dead... DEAD, unless someone is consciously or accidentally creating more. And why would those in need of brains create more competition? and risk? The bigger questions is, why do I have to do your thinking for you??

And as for my fan status, look my early review of iZombie on IMDB under the username, tedphx, and stop bothering me with this nonsense.

  29. I re-watched the scene to double check and his hair had clear streaks of a more dirty-blond colour and not solid white, so I think he was beginning to revert back to human!

    ReplyDelete
  30. The episode was great, and moved the story along nicely, but Liv really bothered me.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I have to agree with most of what you said.
First off, the one I can't forgive; Liv giving the brains without checking it's really Major first. seriously ? That was idiotic, and there's no excuse for this one.

The brother, 2nd stupid move. It actually made my eye roll. But like you said, we can admit he is simply an idiot and have him in the hospital.

As for Liv's choice concerning Blaine, I can accept it for now. LIv couldn't take the risk to have a zombie outbreak nor have killer zombie on the loose, even she does not really know how many zombie there is out there. Fine with me. There's some loose point but I can accept that explanation. From Liv point of view, it's fairly acceptable.

Blaine is a good character. Anders is great actor, Better find a reason for him to stick around. But, I have seen shows that stubornly hang on to a character 'til this end and it turned absurd and really bad. They stubornly try to attach this character to the rest, no matter how absurd it gets.

It does matter how good the character is (at least in the beggining) or how great the actor his, for the sake of the story, it's not always possible to keep this character.

I honestly don't this they can keep Blaine forever, I don't even think they can keep him more than two season without make his part in the story unbelievable. But hey you never know.

  32. Suzana, I was hoping for a comment like yours, but it's even better - I got yours! IZombie is a big deal in my house. We can hardly wait for each week's installment because it's so darn great - unique, funny, suspenseful, remarkable twists, and at the center is a woman who is simply as good as they get.

But I'm a real stickler for coherence and cohesion, and I frequently turn off shows when something irredeemably absurd happens. So perhaps the greatest achievement of all for iZombie is that it's written for thinking adults, yet it seems to play equally well for those who are less discriminating (and I don't say that to disparage anyone).

I've watched the finale three times now, and we''ll be watching it again as soon as tonight because I'm desperately trying to give this episode the benefit of the doubt. Still, I know that will be impossible, Liv meeting Blaine all alone and without telling anyone is too much, as is Major letting his guard down with Blaine likely somewhere nearby. And I've found more irritations since I wrote my initial comment, some minor, some not so much.

For example, Liv proudly blurted out to Steven Weber that she killed Sebastian and how she did it. I realize that was Teresa's attitude kicking in, but Clive should have told Vaughn, "Hey, we'll ask the questions." However, I was wrong in saying there was no humor. Vaughn's line following Liv's disclosure was very pithy and subtly hilarious, and the entire office scene was laugh out loud funny. Unfortunately, it was Weber, not Rose doing the generating.

More serious was Liv walking away from Blaine when Major called out. For any number of seconds, she had no idea what he might be up to and he could have easily returned with a gun and iZombie would be history. Besides, when she did go to Major, I thought it would be riotously funny if she took a moment to shoot Blaine again just for fun.

After repeated watchings, I've mellowed a bit because there's no show better than iZombie even when it's significantly flawed, and as you said, I, too, can accept Liv not terminating Blaine. Sorry to see Suzuki go though, and we're already speculating about what Liv tells mom. After all, she and Clive are the only ones who don't know, and it seems that has to end now... although maybe not for Clive, but that would be wrong, and up to know, even though she wants to be, Liv really hasn't been a very nice person.

Thanks for writing, hope I didn't overwhelm you.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I am not sure what's so great about my comment but thank you anyway.^^

I get that. The more you care, the more it is upsetting when something doesn't sit right with you.

"Liv proudly blurted out to Steven Weber that she killed Sebastian and how she did it." That one bothered me a little too and so did Clive lack of reaction for that matter. Actually I was even suprise he took her with him in the first place so...

This episode lacked the usual LivBrainOfTheWeek humor that is normally present through the episodes, indeed, witch is a shame because Theresa's personnality could have made for really funny situations.

Ah Suzuki, I really appreciated his end, not the fact that he is dead (I would have liked to see him collaborate with Liv), but it was glorious in a way, he both freed himself from Blaine and warned the authorities about him.

That the thing I like about this show, we really can't judge Liv and the others nor the decisions they make. Whether it's the broke off engagment (the girl became a zombie... not the best morning of her life), I am not blaming her either for wanting Major to stay out of it all. Or Major's violent journey (freaking zombies that eat brains!!), or Lowell that decided to ignore the provenance of the brains Blaine gave him. If he doesn't eat brains, all Hell breaks loose. Same for Suzuki.

About Clive, in one hand, it's kind of weird if he doesn't see something isn't right, although you can easily put that on the psychic thing.

On the other hand to even consider zombies, you'd have to be, well... Ravi. Even Major who've seen human brains and a guy coming alive again only understood when the word "zombie" was thrown at him. So, I doubt it will easily cross Clive's mind.
