  1. Loved it. The Synths are definitely giving me the creeps. What is different about Anita, Fred and the rest? They can feel and think like Humans? Does Leo really think they're capable of love? I certainly wouldn't like Anita in my house! It'll be interesting to see how this develops.

A fabulous start. Really curious to see what happens next. And Colin Morgan - another really different role for him. Shame they don't give him a lot of opportunity to smile.

  3. gave it a good... decent set up of a very familiar plot, but the characters with a few exceptions for me felt a bit flat/uninteresting and the pacing felt a bit on the slow side. I am curious enough to keep sampling a few more eps to see how things develop further and if I will be keeping this on my summer watch list..

  4. According to Deadline, episode 1 set a ratings records for Channel 4 in the UK. Well deserved, I thought the episode was excellent.

  5. Loved the opening episode, lots of different plots all of which are interesting. Like Leo with the Synths who can feel real emotions, or the old guy with the Synth he treats like a son. Anita has the most interesting and potentially creepy storyline.

Really lived up to my expectations and can't wait to see more.

Disappointing. I'm a great fan of the Swedish original (**** you very much SVT for not finishing the series) and really had my hopes up for the remake, but the pilot (which is actually ok, if taken in isolation) fell really flat in comparison with the much superior Äkta
människor s01e01. I honestly don't understand why the original opening sequence wasn't kept and that whole storyline was changed, half the characters involved cut and very likely some of my favourite plot points as well, all apparently in favour of some much overdone government persecution subplot... I'll give it a few more episodes, sincerely hoping I'm made to swallow my words because I would really love to see the end of that story I grew so fond of, but assuming my frustration will only mount with each passing episode...

  7. So you wanted a frame by frame remake? This is an adaptation and a completely different show. You shouldn't be comparing it with the "original show".

I normally would agree with you, but not in this case. Äkta människor is one of my favourite sci-fi shows ever, and it was left unfinished. I only approached this show with the view of getting some closure on the original, as I normally don't even bother with remakes unless they're at least a couple of decades apart from the original. Now, with so much having been changed right from episode 1 I feel that by the point this show catches up with Äkta it will indeed be a totally different story, so that I will not be getting what I wanted from it. Anyway, like I said before, I hope I'm wrong and that at some point I start enjoying this show in its own right, but really, being such a big fan of Äkta människor it's impossible not to compare, particularly when I thought the pilot episode to be far inferior to its Swedish counterpart.

  11. it is indeed disappointing when there's a script, but tv network doesn't have or want to put money to finish the show. Instead of needed ending you get second unnecessary beginning.
