I do interviews and write articles for the site in addition to reviewing a number of shows, including Supernatural, Arrow, Agents of Shield, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Forever, Defiance, Bitten, Glee, and a few others! Highlights of this past year include covering San Diego Comic Con as press and a set visit to Bitten. When I'm not writing about television shows, I'm often writing about entertainment and media law in my capacity as a legal scholar. I also work in theatre when the opportunity arises. Jon Snow fight that white walker was EPIC!

ReplyDeleteThis was an episode filled with absolute greatness. And frankly as awesome as the battle was i must say the second scene between Daenerys and Tyrion was my favorite
ReplyDeleteA ton of great scenes tonight, but the clear standouts for me was the banter between Dany and Tyrion, and all of the Hardhomme scenes especially that epic battle.....WoW!

The Hardhome battle was the EPIC payoff we've all been wanting since that opening scene of the pilot episode! Hee! White Walkers!

ReplyDeleteHonestly though... every scene was awesome in this episode except for the new female Wildling chieftain freeze up when she saw child wights. It irked me a little.
Everything about that Hardhome battle sequence with the White Walkers of course! My jaw dropped so far when Jon used his Valyrian steel sword to kill that White Walker and the Night's King raised up his arms to resurrect the dead Wilding's to become White Walkers. Honorable mention to Dany and Tyrion having a chat!! Been a long time coming and it was just wonderful. This episode will definitely go down as one of the best of the series. Can't wait to see what D&D have in store for us in episode 9.

ReplyDeleteI know- it had been set up with her saying goodbye to what I guess was her own family- but I wanted to yell at her when she just let them attack her. I really liked her characterization and wanted her to stick around - just not as a wight.
ReplyDeleteLoved the tiny flicker of reaction on the Whitewalker Commander on the cliff when he saw Jon take out his lieutenant.

ReplyDeleteShe wasn't snarky like Ygritte, she just did her job and was efficient. You could see why her people chose her as a leader, she was strong and did what needed to be done.... Until her last scene alive.
I know some think child monsters are just that much more terrifying, but to me they were just more monsters. Maybe even easier to kill being smaller.I wish they would have not used the child wights as a tool, or at least had her pause very briefly instead of freezing up altogether. I didn't take is as some sexist trope so much as it just felt heavy-handed to me...
Honestly though it was a fairly small complaint in an overwhelmingly awesome episode.

The lack of hype over the episode was a sneaky ploy ....... making it all the better
Seeing the WW's commanding, and raising the wight's was amazingly creepy . . . . . .

ReplyDeleteI voted other . My favorite was the ending scene when the white walker raises the dead and looks at John like saying to him i'm coming for you . Perfect ending ! Also loved the changes from the book made it more interesting imo

ReplyDeleteThanks for adding here. I think I wanted an option that was just "Hardhome" to include the whole thing! But definitely seeing that that last moment should have been an option!
