  3. At 10, at 10 at night! no ABC Family shows has ever been on at that time, that's NOT good news, sorry.

  4. Probably not but I'm still happy to get to see what happens earlier. Its a good show I really hope this is just part of the revamp for the network.

  5. I don't think it was ever going past S2 with the ratings for the last few episodes of S1. I hope at least it gets a proper ending.

  6. It was pretty steady. It averaged .5 pretty much its entire run. And I know its not great but people reallt like it. Im not hopeful for a 3rd season but I hope it gets a full 2nd one. 21 episodes would make me happy.

  7. The last few episodes had 0.2 (except the finale that had a 0.4)and S2 is going to have 13 episodes, at least that I know of.

  8. Ya sp far it has 13, but I'm hoping if they cancel it ot gets a full season.

  9. With ABC Family expanding their brand and goal to have additional shows (reality, scripted) it is no longer clear to me if all of their dramas are going to be doing 20 episode seasons. Even PLL got cut from 24-25 a season to 20. I think it is possible that Chasing Life has a 13 episode second season and gets renewed for a 13 episode third season.

  10. I'd take a 13 episode 3rd season too. I just want enough episodes to give the story a proper ending. I've really grown to care about these characters. Are you a fan of the show?

  11. If this were main season I'd agree with you, but I think it has a shot during the summer. Will it be easy to forge a new time slot? No, it will not be. Could this cause the end of the show prematurely? Sure, as much as that would suck it's a possibility. However, there is another side to this. ABC Family is in the middle of a revamp, as I saw someone else here mention as well, and I don't think the network would try and forge into a new time slot with a show they didn't have faith in. If the network wants to start programming at 10pm then they need to build a solid foundation out of the gate. This is, without a doubt, an experiment for this network, so like with any experiment it'll either be an outstanding success or blow up in the faces of the fans and the network. Whichever way this goes I'll be anxiously watching. Now to figure out how to watch both UnReal and Chasing Life when they start overlapping in July. Not a fan of that scheduling conflict as I love both shows and am scheduled to review both. I have the longer history with Chasing Life though. Glad I have a month to figure that scheduling issue out.

  12. Yes. Italia Ricci is terrific in the lead role and the show is very good. Perhaps the final 8 episodes where not as strong or as effective as the first 13 episodes but there should be some very interesting story lines to start the second season.

  13. Oh crap I didn't even realize those two would overlap. I watch both shows too, but I will definitely watch CL live and watch Unreal the next day. So does anyone know how the schedule will go for mondays now? Becoming us at 8, The Fosters at 9 and CL at 10.

  14. Ya she really is a great actress. And I'm really looking forward to the new season. I think a lot of why the ratings decreased was the move, and the excessive work storylines. They were pretty boring, but I thought overall it was a great season. And the network seems to back it pretty good so lets hope this works out in the fans favor.

  15. I think it's The Fosters at 8, Becoming Us at 9, and now Chasing Life at 10.

I may have to switch to Chasing Life live and put UnReal off until 11 and watch it on DVR. I want to support both casts, but I've been a loyal viewer of Chasing Life since the very beginning, so it is likely to win this live viewing conflict. I wish they would have put Chasing Life on at 10 on Tuesdays after Stitchers instead of on Monday. That would have worked better for my TV viewing schedule.

  16. Mine yoo. I thought it did well on Tuesdays. I wonder what it will be competeing against on Mondays at 10. Well probably not muxh since its summer. I don't watch The Fosters gave up halfway through season 1. To much drama.

  17. The Mysteries of Bob6 June 2015 at 02:58

This loks like buyer's remorse. They renewed a show with poor retention and low ratings and now are burning it off.

  18. Make It or Break It spent Season 2A at 10pm.

  19. Tuesday would be a really good fit for Chasing Life and I think it would be a better 10 pm slot for ABC Family to start with, but apparently the network doesn't agree. The fate of Chasing Life is bound to how well The Fosters returns and how well Becoming Us does. If the leadins falter it could negatively impact this experiment. I see what the network is doing though, they are trying to schedule on compatibility which is a smart scheduling plan. Chasing Life would have a good chance on Tuesday but in terms of genre it may not be able to hold or gain audience from Stitchers. At least it has that opportunity with its Monday leads. I am truly interested to watch how this plays out.

  20. Yeah the first 13 had the strong narrative drive of April dealing with cancer that was not as present in the final 8. That should change in season 2 because of how the season ended.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It will be interesting to see if they move Chasing Life to 9pm in August when Becoming Us is done airing or if they are going to slot one of their newer reality shows in that slot.

  22. It could go either way really. .. they seem to have faith in the show. They gave it the additional episodes in season 1 before the premier aired. And gave it a season 2 before the show finished its 1st season run. Plus its a good show.

  23. Yeah she really nails the heavy stuff, she's really good at the comedy too though. And I like the Brenna storyline too.. only cause they way I think they are going about it is clever and different. It will be fun to watch. I bet season 2 is really good. The way they ended things just seems like they have great plans.

  24. A lot will depend on how Chasing Life does in this 10 pm slot. I think 9 is a better slot for it, but we shall see.

    ReplyDelete
  25. And what happened?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Didn't it get a 3rd season? So there's hope? It was a short season 8 or 10 episodes I think.

    ReplyDelete
  27. They have experimented with that hour before. They put Greek there.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Monica the Medium was supposed to air on that timeslot, is it changing to the 9pm timeslot?

    ReplyDelete
  29. No its on Tuesdays at 10 after Stitchers and Pretty Little Liars.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Oh I didn't know that.. and they put Make it or Break it therre too. Both got another season so I guess there's hope.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Where did you read that?

In FutonCritic it says this: Monday, July 13th, 10:00 - 11:00 p.m. ET/PT - Series premiere of "Monica The Medium"

    ReplyDelete
  32. I could of sworn I read it yesterday but I don't remember where. Ill check and get back to you.

  33. Ratings were steady throughout the season but was noticeably lower than it's higher rated freshman year. Its renewal chances at the time were boosted when Season 2B was moved to Tuesdays and was placed besides PLL.

When Season 3 came around, it was paired again with Secret Life. However, that show was already on a downward decline between Season 4B and Season 5A. Back on MIOBI, a gaping hole is still felt after a major core character left midway the previous season and the season itself had an abbreviated order of 8 episodes.

The show's executive producer already had a sense of the show no longer continuing past those 8 episode so she penned the last episode as an actual finale, even though there was obviously so much to tell.

The show premiered on the years leading up to the most recent Summer Olympics and that event was supposedly the end game of the series itself.
