Thanks to JC for the heads up.

    Someone's getting fired and/or sued...

  2. Just got back from voting in the marriage equality referendum, gonna try Supergirl now :) My expectation are pretty low for it though.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I just argued with someone a week ago or so that nothing is leaking unintentionally. The leaks can give them solid feedback.
And looking at last year The Flash's leak didn't affect the ratings at all. Probably even enhanced them cause it was low quality.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Thx for the news. Already found them, will watch them after the Roland Garrow draw. ^^ Will share opinion without spoiler out stuff.

I saw some people on 4chan mention that very same thing.

It seems too...coincidental that last year Flash and Constantine leaked, now Supergirl. Compared to Flash it looks like this is getting very mixed comments though. I wonder if things will change when filming resumes.

    ReplyDelete
  6. To me this is great marketing trick. Every time they introduce a new show they have to test it with the audience. but that audience is very limited. This way they can hear the opinion on the show of people from around the world without even trying to market it that hardly.

As for the Pilot of Supergirl, well it's AWESOME. The trailer made it look AWESOME and it didn't disappoint.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I'm not really happy with the promo, maybe the pilot can make me change my mind.

    ReplyDelete
  8. After The Flash leaked last year and then got best premiere ratings for CW, i expect many more 'leaks' this year.

I will watch both tonight, thanks GOD that quality is much better than Flash and especially Constantine last year

    ReplyDelete
  9. After last year's leaks of the flash and Constantine, this was very much expected. I wouldn't be surprised if they leak legends of tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  10. There is no pilot shot for "Legends of tomorrow" so it's not gonna happen!

    ReplyDelete
  11. BTW Supergirl is one of the most anticipated ones so there is no surprise, but Crowded is such a random leak

    ReplyDelete
  12. Adding to my other comment, I'm a little surprised that they leaked crowded, I don't think it's the most anticipated show or the big wow factor.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I hate idiots who leak the screeners, because of them networks are more cautious when sending them out to press.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I sometimes wonder if the networks leak the pilots themselves. Last year the Flash pilot leaked and it was so good that it made people more excited about the show.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I wish non-picked pilots would leak. I would like to see some of them/ why they were not picked up. For example i would like to see what was so terrible about Kingmakers

    ReplyDelete
  16. 'Crowded' is bad. I mean really bad. Carrie Preston deserves better.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ugh.I forgot they just filmed a 3 minute presentation.

    ReplyDelete
  18. So the trailer didn't do the show justice?

    ReplyDelete
  19. No it showed a small portion of how good the show is. To me the trailer is good, but the show is better.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Also, I am going to wait till we officially get the screeners for CBS, NBC (and other) networks to watch these.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Accoriding to EW Kingsmakers wasn't even tested. It imploded before screenings!

    ReplyDelete
  22. The "I can't do it - Yes you can, you just have to believe" cliché..

They already used that on The Flash and they used it again on Supergirl..

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yes, i know. That's the reason i would like to see what went wrong, because it had good producer, amazing cast, good looking storyline, so it really makes me wonder what happend

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeah it had a solid cast, but nothing more. Not really that appealing to me.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Christopher DeBono22 May 2015 at 11:01

I really want Cheerleader Death Squad to leak. Supposedly it was the worst received pilot in CW history and I want to know why XD

    ReplyDelete
  26. I don't mind at all. I hope we got Heroes: Reborn, Lucifer or Scream Queens as well. :D

    ReplyDelete
  27. do we have a source for that?

    ReplyDelete
  28. i watched Crowded and will watch SUpergirl tonight.

But crowded is really bad. I didn't even laugh once and normally i consider a lot of Comedies funny where other people say there are bad.

I won't watch this show, thats sure

    ReplyDelete
  29. Last year this worked very well for Flash. So I was expecting this for Supergirl. Just saw the pilot. Not bad at all. I liked Flash better. This feels a lot like a parody especially certain characters and situations. But otherwise solid pilot. Lot of great easter eggs for the future.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yes someone said it in the deadline comment section. Not really confirmed.

Meanwhile: Alan Van Sprang was cast in Shadowhunters.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Christopher DeBono22 May 2015 at 11:18

No proper source but it comes from comments on Deadline.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I sometimes think these "leaks" are done on purpose to garner hype around the fandoms lol I mean it worked for The Flash.

    ReplyDelete
  33. After watching the Pilot I understand why they didn't went for Claire Holt. They needed someone softer more fragile and chipper. Not a fan of Melissa Benoist, but she was fine a bit to nerdish and I disapprove of her hair color, but fine. She should call Laurel to loan her a wig.
The co-worker was sweet and quite enjoyable.
Chyler killed it in the Pilot. Really good casting. Calista and Mehcad were fine choices as well.

Liked the overall story, they build a solid groundwork for future episodes, the CGI was great really enjoyed them. There were a bunch of cliches I think were unnecessary but still worked for the vibe the show was sending out. And again to many people know her identity for my taste.

    Where do we find it?

  35. 'Accidents' happen

    ReplyDelete
  37. Supergirl leak does not look like a screener at all, leak is 1080p and HQ. Seems this was intentionally leaked(specially due to the quality) to gather some feedback.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Interesting how it leaked in 4 different qualities haha

    ReplyDelete
  39. Can we get Containment's pilot leaked? I just wanna know why they didn't premiere it in Fall. Was it that bad? Please no Crazy Ex-GF leak.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Eh, im good. Like the Flash, i'll wait til it premieres on tv. I hate leaks.

    ReplyDelete
  41. lmao!
They have to many shows in their fall schedule and moving Containment to spring was probably the right choice. Especially with the theme of Containment it's better to focus the story in 13 episodes.
I doubt the Pilot is bad, it got a lot of praise all over the place.

    ReplyDelete
  42. If it was that bad, they wouldn't order it

    ReplyDelete
  43. But they only promote 1 show during midseason and I know that's gonna be LOT. This might end up like The Messengers.

    ReplyDelete
  44. They did with the Messengers though. This show looks like a male skewing too so they should've tried this after the Flash since iZombie is unable to retain Flash's male viewers

    ReplyDelete
  45. We don't know yet. We will be smarter once they reveal episode orders for their shows.

    ReplyDelete
  46. If there are any upcoming leaks, I think Legends of Tomorrow, Minority Report and Limitless are the likely candidates to get leaked, maybe even Cordon.
Let's hope it doesn't happen, with each leak the networks become more wary of their content and it shouldn't be like that

    ReplyDelete
  47. Doesn't have to mean anything. 2 years ago they promoted both shows equally (The100 and Star-Crossed) had faith in both shows.

Containment seems strong they just need to give it a fitting slot. LOT on the other hand is probably a selfstarter and could do well on its own without a lead in.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I don't think LOT even filmed a pilot. I think they start filming in August.

    ReplyDelete
  49. It would only harm if the pilots were being revisited for next season, but if not, then let's bring them in! I have always wanted to watch many failed pilots, and the only one that has ever become available is Delirium. I'd love to see Kingmakers, for one

    ReplyDelete
  50. The extremely amazing HQ we got makes me think they did on purpose. Leak helped Flash last year so maybe networks want to try it again with their most potential hits.

    LOT doesn't have pilot yet

    ReplyDelete
  51. Yeah, but when the pilot gets filmed, it has high chances of being leaked

    ReplyDelete
  52. I know LoT doesn't have a pilot, I meant that once it does it is likely that it'll get leaked

    ReplyDelete
  53. Star-Crossed was dead after it was mocked during Comic-con. That's why they dump it on Mondays. I just find it dumb for CW not to try a male skewing show after Flash since iZombie is really incompatible with it. Last week Flash got 1.7 for M18-34 and 1.8 for M18-49 while iZombie got 0.5 for M18-34 and 0.6 M18-49. I just think its a waste to not use this lead-in to not try and launch a male skewing show. LOT is a self-starter so would not put it after the Flash.

    ReplyDelete
  54. No I meant they only filmed those clips for the upfronts otherwise pictures of its pilot filming would've been leaked on Canadagraphs by now.

    ReplyDelete
  55. One thing that I think they might do is LOT-Containment pairing but the only available slot that they could put it is Thursday assuming TVD ends. I doubt they'd put against the other 2 DC show on Mondays.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Yep. Remember when the Lost pilot was "leaked"? That never happened. Because it was done deliberately and Lost received phenomenal response with a pilot that was watched in huge numbers when it actually aired.

    ReplyDelete
  57. While this sucks for CBS, I have to go...

    ReplyDelete
  58. their midseason schedule will be interesting. If TVD continue to fall next year and Crazy ExGirlfriend fails, they could send TO back to Mondays, TVD to Fridays with Reign and premiere both new shows on Thursday. LoT will be HUGE and it could be already gread lead for Containment

    ReplyDelete
  59. What ? iZombie is probably one of CW's best shows.

This is coming from a male btw.

    ReplyDelete
  60. The show can certainly benefit from it. I certainly think more of SG after the leak. Didn't expect it to be this good.

    ReplyDelete
  61. The numbers don't lie though. Last week Flash got 1.7 for M18-34 and 1.8 for M18-49 while iZombie got 0.5 for M18-34 and 0.6 M18-49. See the difference? I don't blame iZombie for its incompatibility with the Flash but they should try a show that can retain Flash male viewers.

    ReplyDelete
  62. You didn't like it?

    ReplyDelete
  63. That ending is VERY confusing

    ReplyDelete
  64. I know the promo didn't, well it basically turned you off the show. But i think when you actually see the pilot, you'll change your mind.

    ReplyDelete
  65. You know who the "co-worker" is right?

    ReplyDelete
  66. So it was "leaked".

    ReplyDelete
  67. Do you know if you're going to get The Whispers and Heroes Reborn screeners?

    ReplyDelete
  68. You're kidding?! WOW

    ReplyDelete
  69. I meant it sucks it leaked. Still watching.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I saw it later on imdb when I searched for the actor. U will suffer if he goes like Caitlin will at one point.

    ReplyDelete
  71. It did? cool, so does it feel like an "even series" or an actual series?

    ReplyDelete
  72. He is not a regular though. I mean the actor is only a guest so he might turn evil early on.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Geez that's pretty mean of them

    ReplyDelete
  74. is it possible to put a Live Discussion?

    ReplyDelete
  75. ÃŽt's their network. If it didn't work for them U can't change it.
I'm always suspicious when they cast so many big names, somehow it always turns into failure-

    ReplyDelete
  76. I heard Crazy Ex-GF wasn't a flop during the LA screenings that some international buyers apparently liked it.

    ReplyDelete
  77. So it's going to be another Jane the Virgin?

    ReplyDelete
  78. Well for you maybe. The finale shows us the bad guy and at the same time, how will the bad guys trick Kara into helping them with their plan what ever that is.

Also let me remind you that many of us (including me) has never read the comics and at first certain scenes will be confusing, but with series like this, they will explain the ending within the season.

    ReplyDelete
  79. So (as not to spoil) the "tears" scene in the apartment is fake?

    ReplyDelete
  80. Maybe.
    From Silvio:
CBSSI is shopping shows including Limitless, Zoo and Crazy
Ex-Girlfriend to the international market this week at the LA
    Screenings.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend in particular has been a surprise winner, with one buyer calling it “the unexpected hit of the market

    ReplyDelete
  81. No it is not, it was real. Ok here is what i can tell you, everything in the episode will be explain within the series, how every scene is connected and how that person is there and there at the same time although it can't be possible to be there at the first place.

Right now i can only say to you what i have watched.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Well that's just insane, i guess it shows that you can't predict how a show will do. That even a show that looks COMPLETELY idiotic might last.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Crowded is such a random pilot to get leaked lol!

I won't watch any of them for now. I don't really like the experience of watching the pilot so far away from the rest of the episodes. It's fine if this happens in mid September or so, a few weeks before the actual launch, but 4 months in advance I don't appreciate it personally. But I am sure some people are happy about it anyway!

    ReplyDelete
  84. But I don't get why networks wouldn't admit they had released the pilot. That has been done before (Revolution, Emily Owens, Smash S2, Revenge, Red Band Society, among others), so why just hide behind an alleged leak?

    ReplyDelete
  85. Yeah I will also wait. I did it with the flash too and I don't regret it.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Ok now i don't have to be mad that they tainted her memory of you know. I'm actually surprised that they showed the Big Bad already, i thought it'd be in at least the third episode. The hate the you knows have reminds me of Smallville, not a bad thing, i obviously loved Smallville but it reminded me of it.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I actually have no idea who that girl was at the end. All I know is she's Kryptonian.

    ReplyDelete
  88. But you saw her at the beginning, what you should have no idea about is what she said

    ReplyDelete
  89. The original Super Clyde pilot was also made available at some point.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Is she like a twin? I'm confused.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Yeah I agree, so random!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Ok here is something, we know the big bad that is well known to everybody who has heard about Superman, Supergirl or even Crypton. But we don't know if they showed the big bad, or the people that are working for them.

As for Smallville and the hate, not matter if it's SmallVille, Man Of Steel or every single version that is connected to Superman will have that hate after all that is in the original story in the comics.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Emily Owens got leaked? It bombed though.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Anyone watch it yet ?

    ReplyDelete
  95. Not leaked, but released by the CW.

    ReplyDelete
  96. No i don't mean fans' hate, i mean the characters' hate towards you know. But the other person called the person THAT, the person who they were waiting for, but you're thinking we're being misled? Oh and it's spelled "Krypton"

    ReplyDelete
  97. Very VERY good, much better than the promo would have you believe.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Oh so Lucifer is next?

    ReplyDelete
  99. It's a midseason show right?

    ReplyDelete
  100. I'd give a 9.5, high 8

    ReplyDelete
  101. I know what you mean, that hate is in every version connected to Superman. As for what he called that person, well if you know Superman's story and Krypton's (yes i guess i spelled it wrong) history you will know that what he called the person is very common.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Yes, unscheduled so far.

    ReplyDelete
  103. From my expectation point it's a 9, but realistically more a 7,5.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Ok let me remind you that i don't know that this is completely right i mean this could be the big bad maybe it isn't just saying don't jump to conclusions just yet. We have a whole season to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Yeah they're getting close aren't they?

    ReplyDelete
  106. Legends of Tomorrow cannot leak as it has yet to film. The CW order was direct to series and they only did a short presentation so far.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Historical_Materialist22 May 2015 at 15:01

Regarding Supergirl. It is exactly what you would expect. For many if not most of the people that visit this site and comment, this means that they will enjoy it very much.

I will spoil only slightly to say that Superman is VERY much shown, interacted with and referenced both directly and indirectly. It is done however in such a way as to not directly show his face or use his name. But his existence is very much present. Think of a solar eclipse. The sun is there, you can look at it, its still daylight, its talked about but its covered. The problem with this is that you're left wanting to watch Superman and left with: oh yeah, this only Supergirl. It will have to do I guess.

This looks, smells and sounds like a CW show. It will be interesting to see if it can survive on CBS. I don't think it will.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I quite liked Crowded actually. I loved Patrick Warburton and Stacy Keach in it.

    ReplyDelete
  109. lol it got "leaked" in hd ...

    ReplyDelete
  110. The week of May 11th - 14th:
    iZombie was in 5th place.
    1.5 / 3.65 - The Flash
    1.0 / 2.83 Arrow
    0.7 / 1.75 - Supernatural
    0.7 / 1.44 - The Vampire Diaries
    0.6 / 1.70 - iZombie
    0.5 / 1.24 - Jane the Virgin
    0.5 / 1.19 - The Originals
    0.3 / 0.83 - Reign
    0.2 / 0.71 - The Messengers
    The week of May 19th:
    1.5 / 3.87 - The Flash
    0.7 / 1.73 - Supernatural
    0.6 / 1.50 - iZombie

    ReplyDelete
  111. What do you mean? I know those are A18-49 but Flash has higher M18-39 and M18-49 than its A18-49 so it can try those demo for advertisers. All those numbers show is iZombie's awful retention (40%) out of the Flash. Wasted lead-in that can potentially launch a male skewing show.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I don't watch The Flash, and hardly watch Arrow, but where was the footage from that was in the trailer?

    ReplyDelete
  113. Crowded is good?

    ReplyDelete
  114. Honestly I don't think the head of scheduling for CBS has much confidence in Supergirl based on what was said in an interview. Also, Season Zero sucks with their fake NBC schedule.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Supergirl-pilot is pretty good. The producers would be wise to change the opening voiceover, which is incredibly clunky/way too long.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Holy mother of God that was beyond awesome !!!

    ReplyDelete
  117. SPOILERS BELOW READ AT OWN RISK
Yes !! She was Kara's mother's (Alura Zor-El ) twin sister or her clone.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I liked Benoist. Never get the hair colour thing, so is Barry not being blond a huge deal too?

    ReplyDelete
  119. As I said on the comments below, it can leak once the pilot is filmed. That's what I meant; as soon as it is done, I expect the pilot to leak

    ReplyDelete
  120. *cough Speed Force flash forward.

    ReplyDelete
  121. I still can't grasp your view of The Flash.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Could you try to obtain rights to upload them here region-free? Maybe suggest it's free publicity or something and remind them it worked for Flash. Also some desperate fans grab it using not-very-legal tools so companies could generate hyper in a perfectly legal way - which in turn attracts more fans and generates more income for them.

    ReplyDelete
  123. What web site does one go to watch it?

    ReplyDelete
  124. Yeah I never had a thing for the Flash, for SG on the other hand. . . ;-)
Benoist did a good job with the material she got. I didn't thought they were going for such a quirky SG but I'm fine with it. Will give them a couple of more eps to really convince me.

    ReplyDelete
  125. 9 out of 10 for me.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Would not be surprised if the Supergirl leak was intentional

    ReplyDelete
  127. Well, the same thing happened with The flash, hmmm..

    ReplyDelete
  128. Lol, like I can't grasp yours, be glad I'm the minority and that it does very well!

    ReplyDelete
  129. am i surprise this show "leaked"? no. The Flash "leaked" last year and became a one CW most successful shows

    ReplyDelete
  130. Lol. Fair enough.

    ReplyDelete
  131. The Supergirl pilot was brilliant. Better than I expected, and I was one of the people who loved the trailer, and had zero complaints. Well, I'm not a Mehcad Brooks fan, but I wouldn't really complain. He's not that bad here. Hope it finds a good home in the UK. As in a channel that won't make me wait months after the US airings before they air it over here. I don't mind watching things online, but it'd be nice to watch something on my actual TV for once.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I watched SG earlier and I liked it. But I would have to see a few more episodes in the fall to decide if I stick with it or not

    ReplyDelete
  133. I really enjoyed the promos, but Supergirl is a real mixed bag for me....

At times it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed the overall style despite the lighter tone. Some of the jokes and inside gags were fun. I'm not familiar with the comic book story, but the set up in the TV series was interesting to me and could provide a lot of great episodes!

At other times it was just a mess. ..
The VFX were very hit and miss and just atrocious in the opening scene on Krypton and during the first fight scene. Also, while the epic orchestral music was a nice homage to the classic superhero movies, for the most part it was overpowering to me. I've always felt that a scene has to deliver its own emotion and power and that the music should highlight it - Not overpower it. Maybe just me.

I would grade it a "B-" overall. I'm hoping that the VFX in the pilot might be placeholder VFX that get upgraded now that the series is picked up, or at least that the rest of the series has better VFX. I also hope the musical score gets toned down as the series progresses since as it stands for me it is the equivalent of a loud laugh track for many people - It makes a series unwatchable.

I guess the second and third episodes will make or break the series for me, but it's not quite as strong as the previous DC offerings from CW and no where near Marvel's Daredevil from Netflix!

    ReplyDelete
  134. Well Thats good news i am watching Supergirl right now so far so good.

    ReplyDelete
  135. The Pilot was great. what a twist at the end of the episode. CBS has a hit on it's hands

    ReplyDelete
  136. I think the only real leak was GoT. lol This is just Warner hiping everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Legends have not even shot the pilot yet, So it can not be leaked.

    ReplyDelete
  138. I just finished SuperGirl and .... it was AWESOME. I loved trailer, but the pilot was even better. I was afraid CBS would turn it into some kind of procedural cop show, but they did amazing job with this. It is completely different from everything else on CBS and i really hope this can find success there.

I can't wait to see Episode 2 in November

    ReplyDelete
  139. seems like they leaked them on purpose, especially with the quality of the videos. Usually they are crap.

    ReplyDelete
  140. No interest in Crowded. I'll be watching the 1080p Supergirl pilot after I'm done watching a baseball game later tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Can someone please tell me who the big bad is?? Won't watch it until it comes out legally but still wanna know spoilers. And also does it look like there might be a love triangle?

    ReplyDelete
  142. I would give it a 9.8

    ReplyDelete
  143. I don't think that voiceover will be used in every episode. It's the pilot, so for non-comic fans unfamiliar with Supergirl's origins, they needed to explain her backstory. There will likely be a shortened version to open further episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Why was Crowded even ordered to series? It's not even remotely funny.
Supergirl was okay, still not getting all the hype though.

    ReplyDelete
  145. What baseball team you are fan of?

    ReplyDelete
  146. There's a bit of confusion over the big bad. At least on my end and with those I've spoken to. The Big Bad is Kara's aunt. Who is played by Laura Benanti, who also plays Kara's mother. But given previous comic stories, I'm not sure if it's Alura's sister or her clone. As for the love triangle, I don't think so. I think Kara x Jimmy is the obvious endgame, and there is a co-worker of Kara's who has a blatant crush on her, but she seems to have an interest in being friends only. But I don't think it will end up in love triangle territory.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Thankfully, there's no love triangles showcased in the pilot!
Little romance highlighted at all honestly.

  148. I guess you don't know how these things work.

HD versions are sent out to many outlets. It's not surprising that things like this don't leak more oftent

    ReplyDelete
  149. In addition to that there is the mention of "The General" arriving soon...
He could end up being the big bad for the season or future seasons depending on how they handle it...

    ReplyDelete
  150. oh ... better for us i suppose

    ReplyDelete
  151. I liked Supergirl. Just hope they would have left Superman out of it. Make Kara the only survivor, Kal-El didn't reach Earth in this universe.
But the girl was likeable, her "Felicity" was likeable, Jimmy was a cool dude, her boss is interesting(wonder if she's gonna be her Lex/Brainiac)...
Idk, i don't like that there's a SUpes there and we won't be able to see him...

  152. I watched it a second time and liked the lead a lot more. I still think there'll be a sharp drop in quality as the season goes on though, they went too "all-out" in the pilot. From what I'm seeing the pilot is getting very mixed opinions.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I have not read any reviews other than comments here, but my own opinion was very mixed.

It just feels like it has enough "bad" or conflicting qualities to alienate a lot of people across various demographics depending on their personal viewpoint. Is it not dark enough or is it refreshingly light in tone? Is too much like a comic book or not enough like the comics? Thankfully it looks like no love triangles or is that a bad thing?

Each of the traits above play differently to different demographics and that raises questions to me.... Will the usual CBS demographic enjoy it or find it too comic-book-like? Will the die hard genre fans find it too light or cheesy? Will enough genre fans enjoy it enough to pick up any of the typical CBS viewers lost?

    ReplyDelete
  154. It definitely was NOT leaked on purpose

    ReplyDelete
  155. I agree with everything, it seemed to have bits of both ends of every spectrum. Personally I'd prefer dark and more serious with no love triangles like Daredevil which I loved. Or it could go the opposite direction and do light and cheesy like The Flash which I really didn't like. Or a third option is to keep both, like AOS which I find only ok and confusing at times. Like you said it depends on the person.

There's certainly the makings of a love triangle but it doesn't look like they're going to go the angsty, jealous, longing looks route with it. As for it being on CBS it's generating enough buzz not to rely on the usual CBS audience but instead develop an audience of it's own.

  156. Exactly! Now if they go with any romance, it could be organic, seeing how everything shapes as the show goes on. Hope it stays that way.

I just finished watching Supergirl and it was cute, but I'm not sure it's going to cut it in that network, it felt too much like a CW show to me. I do understand now why they didn't go with Claire Holt. I was initially angry about that, and that's why I wasn't going to watch this, but now I can see she wouldn't have worked, not for THIS Kara. I liked the guy that played Jimmy and I loved Chyler Leigh, I'm not sure what to make of Calista though, only time will tell. Now I'll be watching this in the fall, hopefully it won't bomb, although I wish it was at the CW, it could've made a nice home there...

  158. Krytonian mythology, so going with clone

    ReplyDelete
  159. darn you! she could be a HERO that character

    ReplyDelete
  160. Her boss her arch-enemy? i would call Henshaw her arch-enemy, he already hates aliens.

Overall, it was ok. Worth a few episodes to see if it does well.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Na, he's the typical character that ends up growing on the hero. Her boss, on the other hand, is someone she admires, someone she could grow really close. Someone that likes power and could love to know how this girl controls hers. I could totally see her as a "Lex Luthor" kinda villain.
At least it could be more interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Yep, Claire Holt would been great for a comic version of Kara(Much more on the line of Smallville): A Kara that comes to Earth and doesn't understand anything. She doesn't like humans. Clark helps her understand and trains her, with an amazonian ;)

This Kara was a female Clark... Wich brings me back to the "Why did they need Superman, then?" rant i had all day.

    ReplyDelete
  164. Did you vote yes? I would have voted yes.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Of course :) I hope it passes, if not they'll probably just keep bringing it back in until it passes, they've done that before.

  166. Just watched the Supergirl pilot and I just changed my "test" for it from one episode to multiple. It wasn't actually that bad, considering this is the first "non-realistic" show that I have watched ever. I'm not even a superhero person but the pilot really impressed me. What interested me the most were the different plot lines that were presented. Most of the characters are likable. I liked Winn and Jimmy Olson the most, and Kara didn't do a bad job at all for a lead. Overall, I'd give it a 8.6/10. Looking forward to more in the fall.

  167. The co-worker is like Caitlin Snow character I believe. He is destined to be a villain in the future.

    ReplyDelete
  168. I had an issue with music and VFX. Maybe by the time pilot airs they will smooth it out a bit more.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Considering Arrow and Flash's history of starting the show with "My name is" every episode my guess is the voice over is here to stay. But they will change the narrative.

    ReplyDelete
  170. I really liked it. The comparisons to Flash pilot is inevitable. The lead is likable. The supporting characters are good. If Jimmy Olsen is the main romantic interest I am not impressed by the casting. He looks old for her. I liked the villain of the episode and Hank Henshaw very much. Liked it much better than the promo but imo Flash had much more stronger pilot.

    ReplyDelete
  171. I see the reviews are very mixed for Supergirl, which makes me very curious as to what side I'll fall on. I'll have to watch it to see for myself.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Well, they invented a new Kara for this show. They can make Toyman a good guy, i guess LOL
I didn't notice it was him,,, for very obvious reasons... it was a hilarious casting choice xD

    ReplyDelete
  173. Well i guess but i don't know Grant doesn't feel like she'll fit into the mythology part of the show, just the human part

    ReplyDelete
  174. Well, her character wasn't an important one. I wouldn't mind seeing her as a baddie. After what they did to Kara and Toyman(yeah, he's the pretty boy LMFAO). I could see her becoming an enemy of her.

Obviously this is just talk, it probably won't happen and she will end up as a mother figure of sorts... cause i think this show will be cliché AF Jajaja

That's what I kept thinking when I was watching it, I can't picture Claire Holt pulling a "Felicity" like this. I mean, I'm not sure she can pull off cute and geeky. I wanted her in the role because I kept thinking of Smallville's Kara, she would've been great in that role.
Regarding Superman, I kinda liked that he was this omnipresent figure. I'm looking forward to see them juggling his existence without actually bringing him into the story, I don't think it will be an easy task, specially if they keep bringing him up as much as they did in the pilot.

  176. Mehcad is 34 and Melissa is 26.

Kara was 12/13 when she left Krypton/arrived on earth and she slept for 24 years in space so is she suppose to be 36/37 but look 24 or how old is she suppose to be in present day ?
Also how old is Superman suppose to be in this ?

    ReplyDelete
  177. Yep, agree about the casting.

About Superman, people keep telling me i'm crazy but they can't tell me one reason about how Superman's existence moved the story forward. Just one.
If they would have made a more comicbook-y Kara and Superman helped her adapt, i would be ok. But she landed, she was raised by a family and she became a normal girl until her sister was in danger and she was having an identity crisis.
Every Superman mention was an easter egg and a way to brag about the fact that they can use him. It just ties the story to him and that's not a good thing: they put an important character in the story frame, one that they can't actually use.

  178. Kara was in the Phantom zone for those 24 years though and time is different/ non-existant there. I thought when she arrived on Earth she was still a tweenager... She' be 12/13 plus however long she has been on Earth.

    ReplyDelete
  179. That is not a huge age difference between the actors. But for me Jimmy looked very mature and Kara a bit on the younger side. I guess as the show moves forward and Kara gains more confidence this awkwardness will go away.

I am not sure how old Kara is? Only thing I got was she slept 24 years in space. Alex looked a at least 15 or 16 when Kara was brought to Danvers. SInce she looks like she is in her late 20's Kara must be around 25 if we avoid the space years. So by my brilliant calculation Superman should be around 39 or 40.

    ReplyDelete
  180. Kara arrived when she was 13.

    ReplyDelete
  181. It is. I liked all the characters. But I didn't fell in love with anyone like Cisco, Caitlin, Joe or Wells. They were all love at first sight for me.

    ReplyDelete
  182. Yeah i think every Smallville fan was picturing Smallville's Kara than anything else, and you're right Claire would've KILLED it if she played more in the vein the Kara we saw in Smallville. So when we got this more Earth raised Kara it was a big surprise. A welcome surprise in my opinion, even if Laura will always be Kara Kent to me.

    ReplyDelete
  183. I'd say Superman is 34 ( 24 sleep space years + Kara's 11 years on earth ) years old.

    ReplyDelete
  184. She was trapped in the Phantom Zone, which is basically hell for aliens, and they don't age or have their powers. So she was 13 for 24 years and came back to Earth as a 13 year old girl. Kryptonians are virtually immortal, the still age but at a certain point they live longer than humans.
