Scene Of The Week - May 17, 2015 - POLL

17 May 2015

A weekly feature in which we're trying to find the most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great, memorable scenes that we've seen in past seven days on TV.

ARROW, "My Name Is Oliver Queen", May 13, 2015, Actors: Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards, The Scene: Oliver and Felicity leave Starling City
Diana Mack:
Oliver and Felicity driving into the sunset was so romantic. Finally those two will have the time of their lives. Also picked by Jamie Coudeville
Ben L: Olicity together again. After what Oliver has been through this season, he deserved a happy ending.

BATES MOTEL, "Unconscious", May 11, 2015, Actors: Freddie Highmore, Nicola Peltz
The Scene: Norman as Norma kills Bradley (picked by DarkUFO and Geo N)

BATTLE CREEK, "Stockholm", May 10, 2015, Actors: Josh Duhamel, Dean Winters, The Scene: Milt rescues Russ and they hug
Laura Markus:
Oh man, I am so gutted they cancelled this show. This episode was honestly one of the best out there. Milt and Russ have always butted heads, but when Russ saw Milt approach him in the basement and they hugged, that solidified their relationship, and ultimately made for very compelling television. I cannot wait for the remaining episodes, and I will forever be angry that this show is ending.

CASTLE, "Hollander's Woods", May 11, 2015, Actors: Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic and more, The Scenes: Castle's speech at the end & Kate in her performance review
Diana Mack:
Castle's speech at the end of the episode while he thanks all the people who has been important to him - including of course his wife Beckett. That was a sweet scene and it felt like a series finale. Thanks God, as we know it, Castle has been renewed, but it would have fit well as a series finale as well.
Tonya Papanikolas: This scene made me cry. It was so touching. I thought it was a great way to end the season, to have Castle acknowledge everyone important in his life and how they help make him who he is. It made you really feel like they're a family. I loved the scene.
Klutzy girl: His speech at the end of the episode was perfect, as was the look of love on Kate's face.
Jimmy Ryan: Kate in her performance review, getting stood on by the two panelists, but turning around and knocking them out of the park. The scene was set beautifully, very well written and directed, and featured excellent acting by Stana Katic and the guest stars.

GREY'S ANATOMY, "You're My Home", May 14, 2015, Actors: Ellen Pompeo and more
The Scene: Meredith, Amelia and Maggie dance it out with everyone else
Klutzy girl:
For once, a finale ends happily with Meredith, Amelia, and Maggie - sisters now - dancing it out with everyone else. The fact that they get one last happy memory in the house is so sweet.

LOUIE, "Sleepover", May 14, 2015, Actors: Louis C.K. and more
The Scene: Louie tries to have phone sex with Pamela
Max Conte:
Louie tries to have phone sex with Pamela while his daughter has friends over. This remains the most ridiculous and hilarious show on TV.

MAD MEN, "The Milk and Honey Route", May 10, 2015, Actors: January Jones, Kiernan Shipka, The Scene: Betty struggles up the steps at school as Sally reads the letter she left
Max Conte:
Betty struggling up the steps at school as Sally read the letter she left, describing her wishes for after her death. January Jones and Kiernan Shipka were incredible in all of their scenes, and this one was terribly sad and amazingly put together. Betty ended up one of the wisest and bravest characters on the show, and her final words to Sally capped off their relationship beautifully (and tragically).

MARVEL'S AGENTS OF SHIELD, "S.O.S.", May 12, 2015, Actors: Clark Gregg, Kyle MacLachlan, The Scene: Coulson gets through to Cal
Justyna K:
It was such a fantastic finale! With so many shocking, action-packed, brutal, hilarious and heartbreaking scenes. The one I wanted to include the most in the article ended up being the last confrontation between Coulson and Cal when Phil manages to get through to Skye's dad and everything changes. Kyle MacLachlan did such a spectacular job this season, in the finale especially in this moment and when Cal says goodbye to his daughter. Sometimes it seems impossible to feel sorry for the villain, but in a scene like this one, with such a great actor, I found it hard not to. It's still absolutely the worst thing to imagine, whenever someone mentions what Whitehall did to Jiaying and how Cal stitched her back together. It's horrifying and painful, and it clearly destroyed two good people who never really found their way back after this tragedy. And even though it seems like at least one of them got a second chance, it will never erase everything they've done or bring back the people who died because of their actions. But still, when it mattered, Cal listened to Coulson and for once, made a good choice. No wonder Phil's the person Fury always sent to help the Avengers and the people with powers, he does an amazing job with guiding those in need. Looks like SHIELD has found its one right Director and I can't wait for everything that's going to happen in season three. Kudos to cast & crew for this year! Sidenote, you have got to stop hurting FitzSimmons like that!

NCIS, "Neverland", May 12, 2015, Actors: Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly and more, The Scene: Gibbs is shot
Daniel van der Veer:
I kind of saw the cliffhanger coming and of course Gibbs will not die. Still, thinking about this moment makes me realize more and more how shocking it actually was. The unbeatable Gibbs, who has fought many enemies and put down most of them, is shot by a young boy he previously trusted. I am sure Gibbs wil survive, but I am curious to see how Gibbs reacts to this.

ONCE UPON A TIME, "Operation Mongoose", May 10, 2015, Actors: Jennifer Morrison and more, The Scene: Emma becomes the Dark One
Pablozky21:
An amazing ending to an amazing season. The best thing about OUAT is its ability to open up new possibilities for storylines, it's incredibly resourceful and when it wants to it can be pretty inspired. This season finale was pretty much fun, and it ended with a great cliffhanger: Emma has become the dark one. This is an amazing turn for the character, which will allow us to peek to her darkest sides which is something the show hasn't been able to do, it will bring more interesting layers to her, and it'll pose very interesting new dynamics as she is essentially the new villain and everyone will have to work together in order to figure out how to save her. OUAT had its most consistent season as it constantly grounded the heroes character to be more complex while allowing the villains to be more human as well. It had it misses along the way, but as a whole this season was a big win, and this development left me incredibly excited about what's to come. Bring it in season 5! We're ready!

REIGN, "Burn", May 14, 2015, Actors: Megan Follows, Toby Regbo, Adelaide Kane, The Scene: Francis banishes his mother
Tonya Papanikolas:
Wow. This was a bold move that really changed everything. I thought it was a fantastic scene. Francis has always given his mother the benefit of the doubt because she loved him and tried to protect him. But she crossed the line by putting his son in danger and he had no shred of empathy or forgiveness for her. I thought Francis was brutal, saying she means nothing to him, stripping her of her title and income and home, saying she'd never be welcome at court again. He took everything he could away from her. She was left with nothing except her rage and the blame she places on Mary. When you take all that away from someone like Catherine, you better believe she is going to fight back with everything she has. That one decision changed their relationships and futures forever.

REVENGE, "Two Graves", May 10, 2015, Actors: Emily VanCamp, Gabriel Mann and more, The Scene: Emily gives Nolan a new revenge job
Pablozky21: The best way to end up a show, in my books, is by closing up your storylines and open up the door just a little bit to the new ones, giving the characters a new beginning. And the best new beginning the show gave is to Nolan, as someone approaches him asking to help clear someone's name who has been framed. Helping Emily clear her father's name was Nolan's purpose and Emily gave him a new one, it's almost impossible to ask for a better send off to one of the best characters on the show, and it's an amazing way to end the series. While Emily goes off to her happy ending, Nolan has a renewed sense of purpose as he readies himself to help someone else who needs him, and honestly, that's probably one of the best ways to end the series. It felt truly right, and it left me smiling, and that's all that counts. Thanks Revenge for 4 amazing seasons; this may have had many downs, but the ups were incredible, and I'm happy you got to tell this amazing story. Also picked by Ben L

THE BLACKLIST, "Tom Connolly", May 14, 2015, Actors: Megan Boone, James Spader and more, The Scenes: Liz tells Red she knows what happened to her dad & Liz murders Connolly & Red briefs a group of investigative journalists on the Cabal & The final scene
Tonya Papanikolas:
Liz tells Red she knows what happened to her dad. After the wonderfully produced scene where Liz shoots Connolly and flashes back to her childhood, I was really happy to see this scene between Liz and Red. It was so well acted and full of emotion. His care for her shines through, and so does her shock and hurt. James Spader was just spectacular as he listened to her. You could see everything he was feeling in his eyes. You could tell how much he felt Liz's pain and cared about what she was going through. Liz's eyes were brimming with tears. After not trusting Red for so long, she finally knows he was trying to take care of her, and it was nice to see her acknowledge it. I loved the line about him being her sin-eater. The way she looks at him in the end shows she realizes all he did for her and appreciates it. I loved how he grabbed her hand like a tepid father. Even though he is not her father, he has become one in many ways.
Daniel van der Veer: The Blacklist managed to shake up its formula as we know it by having Liz murder Connolly. I wasn't sure she was going to do it until Cooper's voice dimmed and Liz became totally focussed. The scene also triggered interesting flashbacks to the night of the fire. What a way to end the season!
Jimmy Ryan: Red captures a group of investigative journalists and briefs them on the Cabal. Great wee scene, and an interesting avenue for Reddington to look to break the story.
Diana Mack: The final scene brought Liz to be on the FBI's Most Wanted list. Also Liz tells Red she remembers what happened the night of the fire when she was a child, as the two of them escape together while on the background "Rocket man" is playing. So beautiful!
Geo N: Liz's confrontation with Connolly was a great scene along with her being on the FBI's Most Wanted List right next to Red's photo on the same list.

THE FLASH, "Rogue Air", May 12, 2015, Actors: Grant Gustin, Tom Cavanagh and more, The Scene: Barry, Oliver and Ronnie fight Eobard
Justyna K:
Now, that's what I call an awesome fight scene! Taking down Eobard could have easily been the end of the season but there's still one hour to go. What a brilliant show The Flash has turned out to be! Kudos. I absolutely loved the guest appearances from Firestorm and The Arrow Oliver. Barry and his friends worked so well together, that for once, even Eobard didn't see it coming. Go team! Great special effects, the setting, direction and music made it such a memorable moment. And let's not forget the fantastic cast and stunt doubles who did their best to make it all work the way it did. This scene felt like a true gift for the fans, so thank you. It worked out beautifully. Can't wait for the season finale!

THE MIDDLE, "The Graduate", May 13, 2015, Actors: Eden Sher and more, The Scene: Sue graduates
Pablozky21:
One of the most beautiful scenes all season long. After feeling invisible through high school and feeling she was graduating without a trace or a legacy left there, Sue gets her year book, signed by all of her classmates, telling her how her positivity and upbeat energy always made them feel better. Even if she didn't know it, she touched the lives of everyone around them, and as her best bits of high schools are shown via flashback with the song "Make your own kind of music" I just simply couldn't take it, I started to tear up, because it was simply just too beautiful. Sue Heck is a wonderful character, she always gets up after being knocked down, she is an inspiration to both the audience and the people around her, and now she knows it. And as she graduates it's just so heartwarming to see her so happy and upbeat. All of this makes for The Middle's best season finale yet. The show has grabbed me in a way no other comedy has, it has created an emotional bond with me so strong that it is almost impossible for me not to feel for the show, so I may be a bit biased when I say this is the best TV comedy there is, but at the same time, the way it has forged this bond speaks about the show's ability to reach you, and to make you happily root for fictional people. For me, that's great TV, and The Middle is by far one of the best show's on TV, comedy and otherwise. 6 seasons, and the show is still going strong. Here's for yet another amazing season! Also picked by Klutzy girl and Ben L

THE ORIGINALS, "Ashes to Ashes", May 11, 2015, Actors: Claudia Black and more
The Scene: The final confrontation with Dahlia
Jamie Coudeville:
I found it very fitting that Esther sacrificed herself to save her children, after trying to kill them for so long. This is what the entire season has been leading up to and I was not disappointed.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, "I'm Thinking of You All the While", May 14, 2015, Actors: Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, The Scene: Damon and Elena say goodbye
Jamie Coudeville:
The dance was beautiful. I loved everything about this scene. Especially the parallels to previous moments. It's going to be a weird show without Elena.

  2. My biggest impression of this week was Elena's goodbye to Bonnie, followed by the ones to Stefan, Matt and Jeremy. They were heartbreaking.
    Arrow: The airplane scene! Mighty!
    The Following: Marc shots Mike
    iZombie: Blaine kills Lowell.

I still have to watch a couple of finales.

    Honorable mentions:

Agents of SHIELD - Bobbi saves Hunter's life & all the FitzSimmons moments & Skye says goodbye to Cal & all Mack scenes, Cal saves Skye, etc. ;)

Arrow - Lovely shot there at the end, with a happy ending for Oliver and Felicity

Castle - Both the speech & the performance review!

The Vampire Diaries - Damon saves Bonnie (nice character moment!) & All the goodbyes

Revenge - David takes down Victoria - It was a good finale, I'm glad Amanda got her happy ending and Nolan found a new purpose, but to be honest, something was missing there. The show had so many brilliant scenes this season but nothing really stood out for me in the finale. The final confrontation was close, though. I'm going to miss the show, it had its ups and downs but I'll remember it fondly, Emily, Nolan and Aiden the most.

  7. Outlander - Jamie's torture

  8. OUAT: Emma sacrificed herself
    Revenge: Emily and Jacks wedding

  9. I voted Blacklist - Liz shoots Connolly; I actually wish she hadn't but it was still a good scene. However I'm sad you missed off Revenge's Victoria shoots Emily and David Shoot's Victoria and Emily's night mare that she has Victoria's heart. For me those were my favourite scenes.
However the scene of the week for me was when Bobbi took a bullet for Hunter. I adore those two. Made me sad what went down. Wish they had more screen time but Agent's of Shield has such an awesome ensemble cast that it's hard to cater to all that awesomeness.

  10. All the scene in The Blacklist : what a great finale! And what a great James Spader!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Certainly AoS, think the moment that Cal kills Jiaying to save Skye and to prevent her having to carry the burden of killing her own Mother.

    ReplyDelete
  12. This week my favourite scene was Coulson getting through to Cal. Knowing I wasn't looking forward to the final all that much, but it blow my mind. At the end of it I just could not wait for season 3 ! I found the writing with Cal and Jiaying really amazing.

And also, of course amongst several great scenes, Skye and Jiaying's confrontation that ends with Cal killing Jiaying. All the Skye and Cal scenes.

    Oh and Fitzsimmons was adorable.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Stana Katic acting Kate Beckett's speech - pure awesomeness.

    ReplyDelete
  14. 5 picks from me this week and its been very busy!

AOS Lots to choose from but Cal killing Jiaying so Skye didn't was emotionally draining and has shown just how far Chloe has come as an actress this past season. For shock factor then Simmons being dragged into the Kree stone, damnnnn.

Game of Thrones: Tyrion and Jorah get distracted and then get attacked by the Stone Men, chilling.

The Middle:Sue's graduation, yeah I cried.

iZombie: Lowell does the right thing and breaks the audience and Liv's heart.

Veep: Amy lets Selina knows how she really feels about her.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Lowell! That one hurt. :(

    ReplyDelete
  16. Grimm: Nick and Kenneth's fight to the death ; Grimm : Wu joining the Grimm team assault on the Royals' King 's hideout mansion ; iZombie: Blaine kills Lowell ; OUAT: Henry breaks the pen ; Penny Dreadful: Ethan and Lyle ; Revenge: Nolan at the end ; The Blacklist: Cooper and Lizzie talking in the car ; The Blacklist : Red's face as he heard Lizzie remembering the night

  17. Sometimes i do not understand people's Obsession with arrow. I thought this season was terrible

    ReplyDelete
  18. Rheinmeister09 .17 May 2015 at 19:31

The iZombie ending with Lowell was really good.

    ReplyDelete
  19. AOS: All Skye's scene (Chloe became so badass and became a really good actress), Coulson confronts Cal (that showed how much they both love Skye) so emotional and of course when Cal killed his wife.

The Blacklist: Liz remembering everything, run away with Red and became one of the most wanted right next to Reddignton.

Revenge: Jack and Amanda's wedding, Amanda's father kills Victoria and Victoria shoot Amanda

  20. I can't I just can't vote for the Olicity scene, even if I am happy they are together, but this was way cheesy. I have been so torn with the Olicity relationship this season. I love every scene of them but imo they were not executed well. My favortie scene of the week is when Oliver says "My name is Oliver Queen!. Favorite Olicity scene of the season, the jet, this week: start fighting to live.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Battle Creek.
I also forgot Stalker, Jack and Beth's kiss, damn it!

    ReplyDelete
  22. You have to understand it's the same way a lot of people felt about fans love of Revenge. Different tastes is all that it is.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm not over Lowell. I will not get over him. Not even when Damien starts to air.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It really didn't, even though we only knew the character a few episodes he was instantly likable.

    ReplyDelete
  25. It really hit me and I wasn't even a Bradley James fan before this, never got into Merlin but he instantly won me over as Lowell and then this happened. So painful!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Totally agree with you in regards to how Chloe has grown, and how bad ass Skye is now. And yeah Coulson reaching Cal (and the fact that he wasn't willing to allow Cal to die for Skye), and yeah that entire scene of Skye/Cal/Jiaying...

God I just loved the finale

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yeah the AoS scenes, just brilliant all round. Now we have to wait for Season 3...

    ReplyDelete
  28. Supernatural - Dean's massacre of the Stynes. Every one. Thank you writers.
    Flash - Barry/Ronnie/Arrow vs Eobard
    Arrow - Nyssa/Oliver vs Ra's - Oliver kills Ra's

    ReplyDelete
  29. Pretty much sums up the whole episode for me. I love the fact that they took Cal from just a "monster" to an actually engaging character that was still human even after he had actually turned into a "monster".

Loved it, and now the break is going to be awful, though we do seem to have the new shipper arguments to keep us going I guess...

    ReplyDelete
  30. It was! IMO, he was a better actor here than on Merlin. I can't wait to see what he does with Damien.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Revenge is not very high in These polls or so on. I was referring to that. I just cannot understand. Oh well, not that it matters anyway

    ReplyDelete
  32. He really was, and he went out in a way that made him even better. I really wish we could've kept him. Still hoping there's some sort of loophole somehow.

    ReplyDelete
  33. As much as I liked the scene you picked for AoS, there are so many other scenes from the double-episode finale that I think were more deserving:
    Skye vs. May
    Raina's death
    Bobbi vs. Ward and Kara
Coulson, Fitz and Mack vs. Gordon + Mack cuts off Coulson's hand to save him ("I'm the guy who kills Gordon" and "Science, biatch" are two lines that should go down as all-time classics)
Cal kills Jiaying and saves his daughter
Skye says goodbye to Cal and hugs him + the reveal that Cal's memories were erased at the vet clinic
The WTF ending with the Kree stone swallowing Simmons

    ReplyDelete
  34. Honestly I think you could just chalk up the whole double episode to be honest.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Indeed...

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yeah and I'm still shocked and surprised about it, everything was just perfect, I just want to be September 23rd.

    Both Castle scenes for me!:)

  38. NCIS had a pretty shocking ending even though everyone knows Gibbs will live. The Blacklist had an excellent finale, and it's the best May finale I've seen so far. I chose Liz kills Connolley but could easily choose all other scenes too.

    ReplyDelete
  39. In general, I have been a bit disappointed in the may finales. What about you?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Where is SUPERNATURAL ??? most of all Dean and the Stynes ??

    ReplyDelete
  41. I know, I thought it was so well balanced. Enjoyed everything from the start to finish. The months are going to crawl. Think I might binge on the two seasons and Agent Carter to make up for some of the gap. As I've said elsewhere I'm enjoying the easter eggs hidden in Season 1 that played out in 2

    ReplyDelete
  42. I agree, I am not content with what I've seen. Various finales left me disappointed, e.g. Arrow. I'm not happy they ended with Olicity riding off into the sunset. Besides that, most of my finales have been cliffhanger-free. So far, there is none that left me incredibly shocked because of what happened or frustrated because we have to wait till September for the next episode. NCIS and The Blacklist are the only shows so far that ended on a cliffhanger. The Blacklist is the best of them, and in general the best May finale so far.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think it's a fair view, it was such a good end to the season and sets up plenty for next season.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I agree. I hated thr arrow a lot! IMO it was just a terrible end to a terrible season. Scandal was a set-up to an awesome season but the finale was boring and felt like a series finale. Revenge did not end on a cliffhanger of course. It was a great series finale though. Only OUAT was amazing so far. It ended on many huge cliffhangers

    ReplyDelete
  45. Grimm: Juliette's death
    Revenge: Jack and Emily's wedding
    Flash; The final showdown
Vampire Diaries: Stefan talks to Caroline about Elena. Damon beheads Kai and saves Bonnie.

    ReplyDelete
  46. "Science biatch" killed me LMAO and "I'm the guy who's kill Gordon"

    ReplyDelete
  47. Arrow also felt like a series finale. I can safely drop the show if I want to, but I'll be giving it another chance next season. Even though, as you say, it was a terrible season, I still believe the show can return to the quality of seasons 1-2.

At least it's great that Revenge didn't end on a cliffhanger.

Of course we still have the finales before May, most notably The 100 and HTGAWM. Can't wait for both shows to return!

The Blacklist end scene, finally after all this time we can lay it to rest, just don't think he is any way her father inure at all. She had one named Sam, he is a lot of things but that. Imo if there is a father inure present in her life [why would she want one or need one in her thirties is beyond me] is Harold Cooper. Red is exactly like he called it...her sin-eater, her protector, her dark knight and now their relationship has changed...where it will go we'll have to wait in say how it starts of in season 03.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yeah, I love the fact that Cal wasn't in fact the biggest "monster" in the story, but Jiaying was, It's oh so clear when she go as far as attacking her own daughter.

Wait, "new shipper arguments", the WardSkyedelusion is not the only subject of the World War S ?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Arrow - Felicity in the Atom suit gave me giggles, as did Barry and the hot tub comment. I also like the ending - kinda cheesy, but seeing Oliver happy was really nice, and a good portent for a lighter season next year. Not the most epic finale though - they really could have done more with the LoA, and the Ra's/Oliver fight was kinda "eh."

AoS - I like the scene with Cal and Coulson, but there were so many great moments. I loved the fight between the SHIELD men and Gordon, Bobbi taking on Ward, the Johnson family confrontation, and of course, Jemma getting swallowed by a giant rock. That was interesting.

The Flash - The hero vs. Reverse Flash fight. That was awesome. And kinda highlighted why the Oliver/Ra's fight was so disappointing. Because look how COOL they can make these showdowns when they make the effort

iZombie - LOWELL! That really hurt a lot; I loved Bradley James on Merlin, and I think I may love him even more now. But it was a damn good exit.

Jane the Virgin - They took Matteo! Also, Petra stole Rafael's sperm, which, of course she did. I look forward to more crazy next season.

Castle - The speech was awesome. Beckett doesn't take no flack.

Finals kept me from catching up on everything, but from what I did watch, those are the highlights.

  51. What new shipper arguments?

  52. Agree with REVENGE. Nothing else matters in when you have such an episode that could've filled the entire poll only with scenes from it.

  53. Seems to be braoding to include the writers completely taking Ward OOC, or just screwing up the finale, or being racist due to so many "POC's" dying in the last couple of episodes.

Think they are related to the whole SkyeWard delusion just seems to be getting nastier now that Ward clearly isn't getting redeemed

    ReplyDelete
  54. As I said:

Seems to be broadening to include the writers completely taking Ward OOC (along with everyone else seemingly), or just screwing up the finale, or being racist due to so many "POC's" dying in the last couple of episodes.

Think they are related to the whole SkyeWard delusion just seems to be getting nastier now that Ward clearly isn't getting redeemed.

  55. Ah, yes "that".

It's way worse than the SkyeWard delusions in my opinion.

Vampire Diaries: Damon and Elena's dance was my favorite scene (I cried) but both the scenes you mentioned were great too. I got choked up during both of them. No, that's not quite accurate. I got choked up and then I cried. Delena's last dance, Stefan's love for his brother and Damon being a freakin' hero. Thank you writers! Also liked the end scene - so dark, menacing and mysterious.

  58. Considering some of the highly charged comments that are being thrown around at the writers and showrunners I think it's VASTLY worse than the SkyeWard delusions post Season 1.

As soon as Elena asked Bonnie for a favor I just knew it would be the feathers! All of the goodbyes were especially sad because she may never see any of them again, except for Stefan, Caroline and of course Damon, depending on how long Bonnie lives. The goodbye to Ty was a bit strange though; I really can't see him embracing his inner werewolf!

  61. Wish Aiden had not died, especially the way it went down.

  63. Arrow always Arrow and Olicity scene but I'm very disappointing final fight between Ras and Oliver. Also last scene in Flasha with Oliver, Barry, Firestorm and RF was awsome !!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. The Agents of SHIELD, The Flash, Once Upon A Time, Arrow, and The Originals scenes mentioned.

Arrow: Arrow team fights the league

Vampire Diaries: Everyone's scenes saying goodbye to Elena. It was better than I thought I could hope for.

Chicago Fire: Serveride and Gabby are saved by Biden

Nashville: Deacon asks Reyna to marry him

Girl Meets World: Girl Meets Pluto - Digging up the time capsule in Feeny's backyard, Maya puts the photo in the time capsule box

My two favorite quotes of the finale! :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. Oliver/Felicity fans. Though I didn't hate the events in the finale. It wasn't that bad.

The majority of my shows this year had me disappointed in at least one or two areas, so when you're dealing with that kind of issue it makes Arrow's season not as bad looking.

  68. I actually had tears in my eyes by the time we reached Bonnie and Jeremy.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Well we needed them, the 2 final episodes of s2 was so heavy emotionally.

    ReplyDelete
  70. SHIELD: The whole episode really, but my favourite scene was Skye going to see Cal post-TAHITI. It was quite sad as I realised what had happened to him, and this is a character that has been a villain all year. Kudos, SHIELD writers.

The Flash: Flash/Firestorm/Oliver (or whatever he wants to be called) v Reverse Flash

Arrow: Barry turns up in Nanda Parbat and Malcolm takes over the League. Literally the only two scenes I actually liked in an absolute train-wreck of a finale.

  71. The real scene of the week for me was Sue graduating.
I know not many people here watch The Middle, but that scene alone is THE SCENE OF THE SEASON, for me, comedy and otherwise. It's been a long time since I have been that moved by a fictional character being happy.

Seriously guys, if you haven't checked out The Middle, do it. It's worth it.

I also pointed out OUAT (which had an extremely satisfying finale to end a stellar season) and Revenge (which ended the series on a good note), but there were plenty of great scenes, many mentioned above. I knew The Middle had to be chosen, and by choosing Revenge and OUAT, I had to take out great scenes on Game of Thrones, The Flash and AoS, but all in all, it was a great week for TV

Arrow-Ra's defeat and malcolm the real winner of the season......Ra's al Ghul I don't know why season 3 is terrible when it a great seaosn....

Ra's and Oliver could be longer instead of Oliver falling off it should ra's who is presumed to have drowned.....or Arrow version of Sherlock vs Moriarty fall scene where they both fall into the dam!

  78. I'm SURE everyone who never trusted Lowell is feeling pretty crappy after the episode

  79. Definitely, it didn't help that it was Bradley James

    ReplyDelete
  80. Well on Merlin he started out as a D-Bag and here we liked him immediately

    ReplyDelete
  81. I loved Arthur from the start, even though he could be an asshole. Knowing the King Arthur history, you knew he wouldn't always be. Bradley was great on the show but I loved his acting style on iZombie more. He was different, more mature and it shows.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Yeah i guess but i think i went more fresh because it was an origin story, like with Morgana, it broke my heart when she turned evil because i shipped her and Merlin.

The Vampire Diaries: A great character moment for sure! Damon saving Bonnie was really a complete 360 for him - and for her. Bonnie hated vampires, most particularly Damon. She told Stefan in the Season 1 finale that if Damon took just one more innocent life she would take him down. Damon tried to kill Bonnie when she destroyed the crystal he thought he needed to open the tomb. Bonnie tried to kill Damon by burning him to death. Then the 1994 prison world changed everything between them. As Damon said, "If you spends months alone and you don't kill each other you become friends". Bonnie willingly accepted healing from Damon by drinking his blood.

"Evil, selfish" Damon Salvatore saved Bonnie even though it meant sacrificing his life with Elena for many years to come. That act was, I think, the completion of Damon's evolution, an evolution which Julie Plec insisted had to happen. But Damon still has his witty snark: "You didn't think I'd leave you, did you? I haven't finished making up nicknames for you yet." Damon Salvatore, hero. It has a nice ring to it.

  84. I still can't believe that someone as badass as him was killed by a socialite bitch

  85. Arrow- Olicity leave Starling City. Got my vote.
Felicity saves Oliver in the "Supersuit."
    Also, Oliver beats Ra's.
Oliver tells Thea that he told everyone to call her "Speedy".
Thea works with Diggle out in the field.

TVD- Delena say goodbye. My vote. I loveddd their dance. I liked all the goodbyes.
-ALL THINGS STEROLINE! Stefan confesses he loves Caroline!! OMG! That was beautiful!!
-Damon kills Kai. Byyeeee Kai. = (
I'm definitely looking forward to season 7. By the second or third episode i won't be feeling the "weird w/o Elena" anymore.

The Flash- Barry, Ronnie, and Oliver fight Eobard. Sooo awesome!!

    The Following
    - Gwen tells Ryan she's pregnant and he goes to AA saying goodbye to Joe for the last time.
-Mike kills Mark to save Max.
-Mike gets brutally stabbed by Mark. MIKE BETTER BE OKAY!!

    The Originals
    -Original Esther returns.
    - Klaus and Cami have a drink in the bar and he tells Cami he would've found her.
    -Klaus kills Dahlia
-Hayley reunites with Elijah when she's able to be human.

    The Odd Couple.
-Felix and Emily sleep together and Felix kisses her later declaring he wants a relationship with her.

    Girl Meets World
    -Eric Returns
    - Maya and Riley try to do Eric's "Feeny call" after he sees them digging his yard for the time capsule.

    Supernatural
-Sam tells Crowley he's a monster, and Crowley gets his balls back, and shows Sam his RED EYES.

  86. Battle Creek: Milt and Russ hug. That right there was the show! If they had saved it for any reason it would have been that scene... Also nice little detail: Milt telling his people to stand down and not come down until he and Russ had got themselves together... Perfect moment was perfect!

Castle & Beckett's respective Speeches: Why these two are a wonderful TV couple. Next time some cries "Moonlighting curse" now everyone can call bullshit and counter argue "Castle!"

    Runner Ups:
    Coulson gets through to Cal
Meredith/Amelia/Maggie bond and dance it out

    Not on the list:

VEEP: Amy's meltdown, and resignation speech.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Honorable mention:

iZombie: Liv can't kill Blaine, but Lowell decides to try and gets killed instead. Liv watching from the rooftop, and the way they look at each other just before Lowell tries to kill Blaine was beautiful and heartbreaking!

OUAT: Henry is the new author

Agents fo S.H.I.E.L.D.: Cal kills Jying so Sky doens't have to & Sky visites Cal in his new life & Simmons gets sucked / dragged / absorbed by the alien tech

Supernatural: Dean kills the Stynes in their house & Sam reminds Crowley who he really is

Nashville: Gunanr and Scarlett singing outside the hospital & Avery driving away

TVD: Oh, that Delena dance! I have to put it right up there with their Miss Mystic Falls dance which has always been my favorite romantic Delena scene.
Stefan saying he loves Caroline - awesome. I guess their talk gave him the courage to be vulnerable. Good for him! They love each other - wow!
I loved Kai (and Chris Wood) because he was such a great villain - second only to Klaus - but I was never so happy to see Damon kill someone. Kai crossed more lines than I can count. And Damon saving Bonnie? Who could ever have predicted that based on their early history? Way to go, Damon!
I wish Season 7 could start now, especially after that dark, menacing final scene. I have so many questions about it. And it won't be weird without Elena if - and this is a big if - the writers do a good job.
Have a good summer! I'll be spending part of it re-watching the entire six seasons.

  89. For me it's Arrow, Flash and Firestorm VS Reverse Flash. Hands down the best scene of the week!

Honorable Mention: Oliver and Felicity driving into the sunset with a promise of a more lighter show next season. I take that scene as that, as the show saying "Well, on Season 4 our character's personal life is gonna be good and there will be less crying and brooding for everyone".

    ReplyDelete
  90. I took that scene as a promise of a more lighter show next season. This season was too much crying and fighting and brooding for the whole cast. I would love to see Oliver happy.

Other than that, i guess people are happy the couple got together. If they liked it, why not vote for that?

    ReplyDelete
  91. Agreed. I put that on "honorable mention" for what the scene stands for(a happier Oliver and a promise of a lighter Season 4). But not "Scene of the week" material, as you said.

    ReplyDelete
  92. DE's MMF dance is also my favorite dance. Stefan's been very comfortable with his feelings for Caroline for a while, it's just that SHE'S always cutting him off!!! Or walking away. This time she actually sat the hell down and let him speak. Which i'm more than grateful for. I felt Kai was better than Klaus. I just wish he could've stuck around a bit longer. But it also felt right to let him go now. Damon's saved Bonnie before, that wasn't a surprise to me, nor did it get a reaction out of me. I definitely wasn't cheering him on. I really think season 7 will be done right. Idk it's weird, i'm really hopeful about it. lol Awww, you have no shows for the summer?? = (

    ReplyDelete
  93. The Arrow, The Flash, and Once scenes got my vote.

    Honorable Mentions:

Arrow - The whole "fight to live" scene, Oliver beating Ra's, and Felicity saving Oliver in the A.T.O.M.

Bones - Brennan kicking Booth out. As heart-crushing as it was, it needed to happen, imo.
