  1. They're taking "pushing the envelope" to a WHOLE new level.

  3. It was okay but i'm not going to keep watching. Barely any Claire Holt, as good as she was, it's so weird hearing her talk in an American accent. I didn't see the X-Files but all i see in Duchovny is Mulder LOL. Grey Damon is still an enjoyable character, but dang it for him being married with a daughter, sucks that i can't ship him with Claire Holt's character. Manson was one DISGUSTING STAIN on the face of the Earth who should've been BUTCHERED into little pieces. It's a good series but i'm not going to keep watching, plus it doesn't end closed, it has a cliffhanger.

  7. I thought that Aquarius was fantastic. It was a little slow moving but the visuals were stunning and the atmosphere helped unfold the case. I'm really not sure why NBC held Aquarius back until summer as it would have done much better after The Voice than what they chose. NBC completely misjudged the appeal of this show.

  13. I knew I would like it when I heard Grace Slick..............I may just have to binge the whole series over the weekend or later on, On Demand :-)

  14. I'm not sure if they did push the envelope. Yes, the subject matter is graphic by nature, but I felt that it wasn't treated any more severe than the typical edgy procedural that the networks tend to program. Hannibal for instance I feel pushes more boundaries of what is typically programmed on TV than Aquarius. Overall, it was an engaging, well made 60s cop drama that proves that maybe we can have another cop drama after all.

  15. How so? I didn't find it to be surprising really at all. Especially given the subject matter. It was rather tame.

  16. How is it pushing the envelope? There are more graphic purely fictional shows on TV than this and it's based on a true story.

  17. I voted OK. It was like they had a checklist of every 60s cliche they could come up with and felt they had to cram them all in the story. The characters were all pretty cliched as well, even Manson came across as sort of bland. I'll probably keep watching it but I really hope they keep it as a limited series. Music was good.

  18. This series had me with Claire Holt's first scene! My fixation with one "Original Vampiress" aside the dialog and acting in this premiere are "top notch". Charlie Manson and Duchovny's character are the most interesting so far and the "Director of Photography" is earning his pay with the scenes setting a serious/dark mood of the era ie" Vietnam War, hippie counter - culture, and the "Zodiac Killer". Curse you, Aquarius for casting Claire "Bex" Holt and for having such a excellent premiere! 4 THE ORIGINAL AQUARIUS, I am Nobody!!!

  19. Yeah about Grey Damon character the handsome one is always married.

  20. I liked it, didn't love. The acting was fantastic, better than expected, along with the production and directing, whoever picked the music is a genius. like many have said, there wasn't enough edge and wow factor for this plotline. A story about Manson needs to leave you completely drained by the end to even come close to the reality, was anyone else a bit bored at times? And there were too many side storylines which I don't think were nessessary...though who knows, I'll hold out judgement, maybe they'll be important later in the season. Still, I think a story this strong doesn't need side plot, it can hold out on its own. And my own personal beef, not enough for Claire to do-I thought she would stay an undercover agent the whole season, which would have been awesome.

    Overall, I expected more...maybe it'll get better?

  22. I wasn't getting into it, the first two episodes. But I pushed through and binge watched the entire season and am glad I did. I hope we see a Season 2.

  23. I like it, didn't love it.

The good: The music, the acting, the production value.

The bad: the plotting seems a bit all over the place and they're going for too many cliches.

I'll keep up with it, but these two episode didn't register the show as "must see TV" for me.
