“Minority Report” (pictured above) stars Stark Sands and Meagan Good (pictured), along with Wilmer Valderrama, Daniel London, Laura Regan, Li Jun Li and Zhane Hall. The project from Amblin, Paramount Television and 20th Century Fox TV, inspired by the 2002 feature film, picks up 10 years after the end of pre-crime in DC when one of the three pre-cogs struggles to lead a normal human life, and remains haunted by visions of the future when he meets a detective who may help him find a purpose to his gift. Scribe Max Borenstein exec produces with Spielberg, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Mark Mylod (director) and showrunner Kevin Falls

The series stars Tom Ellis (Rush) in the title role as Lucifer, who, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals. Co-starring alongside Ellis are Lauren German (Chicago Fire) as Chloe Dancer, an LAPD homicide detective who finds herself both repulsed and fascinated by Lucifer; Lesley-Ann Brandt (Spartacus) as Lucifer’s best friend Maze, a fierce demon who takes the form of a human woman; Nicholas Gonzalez (Sleepy Hollow) as Dan, an LAPD homicide detective wary of Lucifer; D.B. Woodside as Amenadiel, an angel sent to L.A. to persuade Lucifer to return to hell; and Rachael Harris as Linda, Lucifer’s therapist.

  1. Yes, I've been excited about Lucifer!

  2. Finally.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Happy about Minority Report. I'll check out Lucifer, might be a nice replacement for Constantine but the more I hear about it the less interested I become.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Hell yeah! Really stoked to see a trailer for Lucifer. After Constantine's cancellation Lucifer maybe getting picked up was the only thing keeping me calm. (And if somehow WB manages to sell Constantine to a new network I might think I'm dead and in heaven.)

Minority Report... will certainly check it out, hopefully it's more serialized than Almost Human.

    duh. finally!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Looking forward to Minority Report. I kinda wish the Almost Human cast could guest star ;)
I'll check out Lucifer, I like the cast.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Even if Minority Report is more serialised it will never be as good AH imo, the bromance on that show was too perfect!

    ReplyDelete
  8. I love Lauren German! But Lucifer doesn't really sound like my kind of show.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Lucifer woohoo

    ReplyDelete
  10. I enjoyed Almost Human but if I ranked my favorite genre shows from last season, AH was closer to the bottom, I lost interest because there was no actual story beyond the unique setting, otherwise it could have been any cop show.

    ReplyDelete
  11. No surprised on the pickups. However, FOX has to be careful because if you read the drama pilot orders, besides Scream Queens, it's the same thing over and over again. This could really hurt them this year as if one fails, they likely all could.

    ReplyDelete
  12. CBS please speak up

    ReplyDelete
  13. Awesomeness. Fox always has such interesting shows, hopefully these two don't disappoint and don't get cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Lucifer mmm. I really need it to be more than just a procedural. Will be cautious about it.

  15. Aryam Manzueta9 May 2015 at 03:21

Why would Lucifer want tom punish criminals? Wouldn't he like to encourage and help them? Tf

    ReplyDelete
  16. Because FOX has to awkwardly put a police subplot into the show. It doesn't make sense.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm exited for Lucifer. Hope they don't use the title alone to carry the show and do a good story and all that what not.

The Minority Report, hit or miss, there will have to be something about it that people likes, something different. Less episodic. Because look what happened to Almost Human.

    ReplyDelete
  18. popcultureguy9 May 2015 at 03:22

    And there's "Minority Report".

    ReplyDelete
  19. Because it's fiction and doesn't have to portray Lucifer as typical Christians imagine him. :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. If FOX wants Lucifer to be a success the writing's gonna have to be really good and they're gonna have to promote the hell out of it. The summer leading up to 666 Park Avenue there were dozens of YouTube videos people were sharing where they discussed how evil the world has become that we'd allow Satan as entertainment (LOL!!!), I'm expecting (and kinda looking forward to) the same this year, most Christians are gonna ignore it or boycott it, many genre fans will ignore it because of the network. I'm crossing my fingers for it, though.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Does CW not have more?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I am very excited for FOX's slate which, on paper, I feel is the strongest they have had in years. I can't wait to check out Lucifer, Frankenstein Code, Houdini and Doyle, X-Files, and Scream Queens as well as Sleepy Hollow and Empire, which I already watch.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ah I guess they will have one more than FOX, by my count they have 9 and FOX is at 8. Still that's a pretty hefty number for genre shows on FOX.

    ReplyDelete
  24. If anyones interested heres the logos, I just screens hotted them for their Twitter handles :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. "Sleepy Hollow and Empire, which I already watch."

Sleepy Hollow fans will love their new slate. Absolutely. However, that's really all FOX is appealing to. CBS really messed up their pilot selection, but FOX didn't do much better. It's appealing to mostly genre fans, and if Sleepy Hollow's ratings are any indication, they tend to fizzle out fast and are more limited in scope.

I wouldn't be surprised if Newman/Walden's first slate really struggles (remember, they inherited Gotham and Empire).

    ReplyDelete
  26. Stark Sands looks good on that pic. He usually looks derpy.

    ReplyDelete
  27. And surprising considering their history with genre shows, it'll be interesting to see how they turn out.

    ReplyDelete
  28. popcultureguy9 May 2015 at 03:32

I'm surprised, after the success of "Empire", that FOX didn't develop something soapier in that vein.

    ReplyDelete
  29. They had it in Studio City. They passed. It was a mistake that hopefully they fix by midseason. I can't stress enough, FOX went too niche and genre in their pickups. We'll see what happens with that.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Important to note: FOX really loves capital letters in their show titles.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Am I the only one getting serious Almost Human and Constantine vibes off those...not saying they're bad tho I like the MR one especially.

    ReplyDelete
  32. No your not, I am too :) Thats a fear I have for Lucifer, that it might struggle to find an audience as Constantine did.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Justin Valdes9 May 2015 at 03:34

Looking forward to both of these shows! My Fall schedule is seriously going to be jam packed XD

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think FOX is going more towards the twitter trend/tumblr crowd. They want projects that will build a buzz. Honestly, I'd do the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Well it's early days yet, we don't even know what the show looks like. Constantine the whole bad pilot, recasting and reshoots thing going against it though.

    ReplyDelete
  36. popcultureguy9 May 2015 at 03:37

"Minority Report" has brand recognition for less devoted genre fans and will appeal to fans of "Almost Human" alike, Makes sense they went for it.

Also, I didn't watch "Almost Human", but the premise to me always sounded like "I, Robot: The Series".

    ReplyDelete
  37. Holy hell I **LOVE** the title screen for Lucifer.

MR's font reminds me of Resident Evil.

    ReplyDelete
  38. popcultureguy9 May 2015 at 03:39

But "Empire" had huge ratings AND huge Twitter buzz.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I really do not advise any network to pick projects based on "twitter" or "tumblr" buzz. Rarely do they equal sustained ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I just hope they give Lucifer the best shot they can. I'm assuming MR will be their top priority freshman show and will probably go on Mondays, but Lucifer had best not go to Fridays or I'll be PISSED. Because I know I'll still watch it anyway and be sad when it's gone, ha.

    ReplyDelete
  41. No, I agree. I enjoyed Constantine regardless of its pilot so I'm not judging. It just has a similar vibe is what I mean :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Lucifer will not go on Fridays. If any of their pickups end up on Friday, I'd bet on Frankenstein Code.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Lucifer looks handsome lol.

    ReplyDelete
  44. popcultureguy9 May 2015 at 03:45

That's not what I was saying. When a show is a breakout hit like "Empire", the networks often develop similar projects. I'm surprised FOX - which has always been home to soapy dramas - didn't.

    ReplyDelete
  45. or maybe Rosewood? or maybe thats me not liking the premise and wanting it there than any of the other shows I'm looking forward to :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Agreed. FOX missed an opportunity.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I rewatched Constantine recently... the pilot, it's not *bad* per se, it's pretty entertaining actually. The problem with it is the pacing, it felt like a 90 minute movie crammed into 42 minutes, things just happened way too quickly and there was too much exposition at first. The scary scenes fell flat because there wasn't proper build-up so they weren't actually scary or able to leave much of an impression.

I've seen much worse pilots for shows I ended up loving though.

    ReplyDelete
  48. That guy is so hot. He's in the cast of a short-lived British show called The Fades, he's half naked in several scenes. Yummy.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yep, I agree. A lot was happening. I felt it got better as it progressed :) Yeah I'm not too picky with pilots too, I can overlook it and still enjoy it!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Bones and Rosewood on Friday? I want Rosewood to fail so the cast and do better things. FOX's interest seems to stem from the fact that it sounds like something on CBS.

    ReplyDelete
  51. And really bright font colors that can mess with your screen. My eyes!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Yes, I couldn't agree more!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Imagine how amazing the opening titles will be :) I love Sleepy Hollows and Constantine, so I'm hoping for something similar in style.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I really hope they let them do an opening sequence. And I hope the show is as dark and occult-y as that image would suggest, and that's it not something like, say, Moonlight where it's pretty normal except for the supernatural main character. (And hopefully at least some of these criminals are more than human.)

    ReplyDelete
  55. Just wait until this coming pilot season, there will be dozens of Empire rip-offs. Almost all the scripts were purchased by the time Empire was obviously a huge breakout hit and no one had time to develop anything similar. And FOX is keeping their option for Studio City, I'm 80% sure they'll either pick it up in the end or someone else will buy it.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Lucifer’s therapist... LMAO it sounds like fun.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Minority Report says it's inspired by the film but....is it a sequel to the film too or no? Loose sequel?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Ah yea I didn't think about the religious aspect at all, thinking it doesn't matter any more. Was just like finally a tale from the other side. I guess it will matter.

and damn those youtube video's I missed since I only use it for music.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Ohhhhh need to check the show out lol.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Matthew Zamora9 May 2015 at 04:07

I think I'll pass... On another note if you are in a good need of a laugh go watch Hot Pursuit.. It was hilarious!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Yes! I can't wait to see Lucifer!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Sleepy Hollow S2's ratings flopped because of the now-replaced showrunner "fixing" what wasn't broken.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Everything I've read indicates it's a sequel that takes place after the events of the film.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Yes to Lucifer! Can't wait. I'm going to have to buy stock in Amazon Prime. There is no way my DVR can hold all of the greatness of this summer and coming fall. Looks like I'll be buying more season passes.

    ReplyDelete
  65. 1. regarding the Minority Report - wasn't the female precog so strong that in comparison to her both males were almmost humans? So shouldn't they include more powerful precog, too?
    2. regarding Lucifer - shouldn't he be blonde? So will they use a wig? Or will they just change it?

    ReplyDelete
  66. I hope they leave him brunette. Ellis is perfect as is :p

    ReplyDelete
  67. Minority Report is a sure thing for me, I'll give it 5 episodes to see if I get hooked.
Lucifer is a big maybe, I'm not completely sold on it.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Looks pretty good. Minority Report sounds like Almost Human part 2 so lets see how that goes. I'm really liking Lucifer's synopsis. Plus Lauren German? YAY!!! Too be honest I stopped watching Chicago Fire after she (Spoilers) died. So this is exciting. The only problem is that its on FOX which means that it probably won't last long. Oh well. Might as well enjoy it while I can.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I really like Elis, but not sure if I'll check out Lucifer.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Gaia Di Lorenzo9 May 2015 at 08:11

Yessssssss excited!!! They look Josh Dallas alike & Olivia Pope ( don't know the actess's name)

    ReplyDelete
  71. Damn!!! I knew there would be some pickups when I went to sleep.

Anyways, I will definitely check out Minority Report. And maybe check out Lucifer because I like the two actresses involved - Lauren German and Lesley-Ann Brandt.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Interested in Minority Report as I love the movie and I hope it surprises me like 12 Monkeys did.

Lucifer I'm a little wary of because but I like Tom Ellis so will give it a chance.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Really glad for Lucifer (I'm really hoping it's good).
    Quite interested in Minority Report.

Sidenote: I didn't know they shot Minority Report in TO...

    ReplyDelete
  74. If DC ever want to catch up to Marvel they need to seriously stop butchering their source material in most of their adaptions. (Flash being the only one somewhat managing to walk the line)

Turning a deep explorative story about the importance of free will
    From wikipedia.

"The theme of the Lucifer series revolves around the free-will problem. Lucifer is a figure representing will and individual willpower, who challenges the "tyranny of predestination". While in Heaven's eyes this is blasphemy, Lucifer points out that the rebellion (and indeed all sin) and damnation as consequence were pre-planned by his Creator, God. Lucifer rejects God's rule and moral philosophy as tyrannical and unjust. The violent, aggressive, totalitarian, vengeful, and dictatorial aspects
of Heaven's rule are represented mostly by the Archangel Amenadiel, who has a particular hatred of Lucifer and leads attacks of various
kinds against him. The attacks include verbal criticism, marshaling the host of Heaven,
as well as challenging him to individual combat - almost all of it
without the slightest care for the countless innocent, unwilling and
unwitting victims he is more than willing to sacrifice for his own
pride. For his part, Lucifer disdains Amenadiel, treating the latter's
emotional outbursts with contempt, and repeatedly defeats Amenadiel's
assaults with well-orchestrated, hidden plans. Ironically, however, it
is often difficult to discern when Lucifer acts as a slave to
predestination and when he effectively acts according to his own free
    will.

    into

"Lucifer gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals."

    I'll pass...

    ReplyDelete
  75. I will watch Minority Report for sure. As for Lucifer, we need trailers and then we will see.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Neil Gaiman's comments about Lucifer:
    https://twitter.com/neilhimself/status/596961452214374400
"I watched the LUCIFER pilot & suspect the show will become a guilty pleasure for a lot of people. Tom Ellis plays L like a sexymadbadDrWho."
"@whmullally Nope. It's real praise. You'll see what I mean when you see it: it felt like it shouldn't have worked, but it somehow does."

I was really excited until FOX decided to change the premise behind the show. I truly do hope, that somehow, they will make it work.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Minority Report is a definite but not to sure about Lucifer.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Wow! I love these!

    ReplyDelete
  79. dietcokebreak9 May 2015 at 14:49

Lucifer seems interesting and the lead is a Brit so that a bonus

Minority Report-I liked the movie and the idea but I find TV adaptions to be wishy washy at the best of times. I dont think it will be for me.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Good for you.

    ReplyDelete
  81. The whole point of hell is to punish sinners. Lucifer is just getting an early start on that before they die.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Someone should say if it´s necessary to know the movie. That would be dealbreaker for me.
