You're right! He is hot, that's for sure, but now I can only see him as a batshit crazy stallker, lol.

  7. Well that works with his new role as a villain.. at least the bat shit crazy part :D

  8. Ohhh man, I could stare at Ryan all day. I watched Step Up Revolution recently and immediately knew within the first two seconds he was the man character. (b/ hello during the opening dance sequence how could you miss the guy with that body. Could they have been more obvious) Then I looked him up and saw he was the guy in The Boy Next Door, and said, "oh god! Whyyyyy" I made it my life's mission not to watch that god forsaken movie. BUT I did, for him, three days ago as a matter of fact. FTR, I love him so much better with the scruff. He had the scruff in Step Up Revolution and looked way better than that POS movie he was in with J. Lo. I'm actually glad he's in this show, I swear I could just eat him up.

  9. He was much better in Step Up Revolution than that crappy ass TBND movie...you should see him in that. The movie wasn't good, but the dancing was really well done, and his character was actually a MAN, not some "almost 20" yrs old stalker boy. (Rolls eyes). SUR was better than TBND in so many ways. Smh. And Ryan actually learned to dance for the movie. Which iI didn't learn til after iI watched it, i I thought that was pretty impressive.

I haven't watched any of the Step Up movies , I'm not really into those kind of movies, but TBND wasn't particularly good either IMO. Now we'll have to see what he does with this new role, I may just skim through SUR to see him as something other than a bs stalker

  13. Why? It's the summer season, the hormones are high this time around. LOL

  14. Wow seriously?? I would at least say watch the first one with Channing. And yes pleaseee watch SUR. TBH, iI think that's how he got the role for TBND. He did step up 4 (SUR) and he did Step Up 5, but iI haven't watched that yet. I think he thought TBND would be his breakout role and it soooo isn't/wasn't. But it got him noticed. Shrugs. He has to work on his acting though. He's 27 IRL,(he'll be 28 in Sept) so I hope they keep him that way for the show.

The first time I saw Tatum in anything was in Dear John and he wasn't that impressive so I've never gone out of my way to check out his movies. I think the only other films I saw him in were The Vow, Jupiter Ascending and the GI Joe one (only because an ex made me watch).
I will watch SUR to be able to form a better opinion of this guy, I don't like to judge an actor based on one screen job, it's not fair, he could've had bad material, a bad director or a few bad months ;-)

I liked him in PLL were he played Arias trainer and boyfriend and in both Step Up movies,

  17. The reason i mention Channing, is b/c that was his first major role that got him noticed (it sure wasn't She's the Man). Not to sell you on Tatum. And he's good in it.(for his first lead role) Not to mention he met his wife. I personally feel Channing would be a better actor if he picked better films to work with. But i don't dislike him, i've seen him in a lot of things. (I'm actually really pissed he'll be playing my favorite Marvel haracter though, he better not screw it up) But til this day i think the first Step Up, out of all of them has a better story and therefore is the best one. (Though the other step ups get more impressive with their dancing skills)

Well when you do, let me know what you think of Ryan in it and if you like him better as a good mature man or stalker man child.

  18. Victoria Llanos29 May 2015 at 18:28

Oh, I didn't think you were trying to sell him on, I just thought you mentioned him because he is pretty known name out there, and the only known actor in the saga ;-) So I could, sort of, put a face to the franchise. It's kind of sweet that he met his wife there, they're a very good looking couple.
I'm downloading the movie now, I'll let you know after I watch it.

Ok, so I was just going through the channels on my tv because there was nothing to watch, and what do I find on fox? guess? Step Up! the first one with Tatum and his wife. I laughed so hard! It was ok. The dancing was good, but not much of a plot, it's been done before. I dowloaded SUR, I'll probably watch it on the weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Well isn't that a coincidence? hahaha Wait so you actually caught the whole thing?? From the beginning? What i like about the Step Up movies is the dancing. (They all do their own dancing and moves, none of it is by a choreographer or by the director) Tatum can move. (If you've ever seen his other work) He makes a cameo in the second one too. But as far as "plot wise", i still say the first one is the best one. (with better actors).

Hopefully you'll like Ryan in SUR better than that other crap. I sure did. lol Lmk when you get around to it. I didn't care for the movie, but man is he yummy, and the dancing is just, wow. My favorite scene in SUR...just remember, art. = D.

Yeah! from the beggining! I was zapping and I get to fox and they're showing this ballet dancers, and then there's some people playing intruments, and I read at the bottom of the screen first Chaning Tatum, then Jenna Dewan, and then I start loling, because, really, what are the chances!
I'm going to try to see it tonight, so I'll let you know ;-)

Ok, just finished SUR and I have to say I liked it much better than SU. Plot wise, it was, well bad, I mean a flash mob to save the world? in this case a neighborhood, but you know what I mean. Still, the dancing was superb. The part at the art museum was fantastic!!! I was grinning the whole way through, it was so beautiful. Let me put it this way, the order of flash mobs in the movie, it's also my order of preference. And the music, I liked the music a lot too. Now onto the acting, or just Ryan's acting, I liked the way he portrayed the character a lot, god knows it was much better than that other movie. The thing is that he doesn't look like a highschool kid, he looks like a guy in his mid twenties, so obviously playing a character in his early to mid twenties, suit him better.
I can now say, I'll watch him in héroes with an open mind, and not picturing a bat shit crazy stalker kid. Thank you for convincing me of watching this, I actually enjoyed it :-)

  23. Hahahahahahaha "To save the world" LOL Actually i like SUR b/c of that. Only b/c it's for political reasons. (I hate politics, but i liked that they tried to do something different with the SU movies) Step Up 2 and 3 they were all about competition. (Not with flash mobs though. lol) Oh i'm soo glad you loved the art museum part. Did you think of me when it popped up? Did you have that, "Ohhh this is what she was talking about" moment? lol The music actually brought me back, some of the songs, i thought they really fit.

See!!! And that's what i loved about Ryan's character in this. In this movie he plays either a 25 yr old. IRL he's 27. So i loved that he got to play this mature character. When watching SUR. I actually didn't know that HE was the actor in TBND. Til after i looked him up after watching SUR. Then i said, ohhhh that's him?? Whyyyy, whyyyyy does he have to be in a movie with her??? Now i have to watch this crap." Lol I'm not kidding those were my exact words. And it was exactly what i knew it would be. Smh.

Anyways, i'm extremely glad that you enjoyed him in something else. (something that did better for his career) And that you won't have to view him as a one dimensional actor. I'm also relieved you enjoyed the movie. I wouldn't have suggested it if it was SO awful. I'm glad i could help. You are welcome. = )

I did think of you! I thought "oh, that's what she meant!" Initially, I thought it was a name, then we got to that scene, and I was all "Huh!"
So I see you like Jenifer Lopez as much as I do ;-) I was coerced into watching that movie, and eventhough I'm a feminist, I spent the entire film blaming her for what was happening, that's how much I deslike her. Anyway, him I don't deslike anymore, so that's the good thing.
Now onto watch Hannibal. Amazingly they are airing it simultaneously, that doesn't happen very often (or ever), so I'm enjoying it. Unfortunately it's only for the season 3 premiere, but it's better tan nothing...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Dislike* lol and a lot of it was her fault. smh. Ugh. I can't even talk about that movie. lol It'll mess up my mood. I'm sure you've watched Hannibal by now. I just finished my shows tonight. Bones and Wayward Pines. Once i'm done with Bones. (next week is the season finale) then i'll be starting my "wait til summer to watch" shows.

I started hating her when she went all publicly bitter after Ben Affleck dumped her and then married Jennifer Garner in like a fortnight. Not that she didn't have the right to be bitter after that, but I remember an Oscar's ceremony where JG was pregnant and presenting an award and she tripped on stage and said something along lines of "I do my own stunts", she was in Alias at the time so it was funny, and everybody laughed and she smirked as if she was happy it has happened. You have to be a really aweful person to get that reaction to pregnant woman tripping, no matter who she is or if she's carrying your ex's child.
Yep, watched Hannibal. It was good, though I wish there had been some clue as to how will and Alana are... But hey, there was lot's of Gillian Anderson and that's always a good thing, besides, I find Bedelia thoroughly fascinating.
How is Bones going, BTW? I actually stopped watching this year. I never thought that would happen, but after what they did to Sweets, I just couldn't bring myself back. Maybe I'll watch during my Winter break next month, I don't know...

    ReplyDelete
  27. I rememeber that. lol I like Garner. Lopez annoys the crap outta me though. She really does. That started years ago, not sure when though. I don't watch Hannibal so i have no idea what you're talking about. LOL sorry. As for Bones, although it was devastating that Sweets died, they did pay real nie tributes to him and SL's between the characters were pretty good. I really don't care for Aubrey. Other than that, it hasn't been a bad watch. Next week is the season finale.

You know, I stood by Bones for ten years, and everytime there was a poll I voted for it no matter who it was running against, because it deserved my vote for holding my interest for ten year, and I' d say so in the comments. But after Sweets death something broke in our relationship. It's kind of ironic actually, because it took me a long time to warm up to him, and in the end it was him who did it. Like I said, I'll watch during my winter break, but right now the characters are not enough to bring me back each week, maybe next year, after all I did take a 2yr break from Grey's and it reeled me back in. So who knows...
