Sneak Peek 1

  1. I'm 100% with Amelia. Meredith should have called her.

Meredith should have called for sure, and should have let Amelia know what was going on at the hospital as she took Derek off life support. However, I totally get why she didn't.....

The promo and the only sneak peek are from this scene. They must be hiding something. I don't watch the show, but the fans should be ready for a big plot twist that will drive the show and plot after Derek's death.

    ReplyDelete
  4. There's no excuse for Meredith. Not cuz Amelia is a neurosurgeon but because she was his family. Mer is dark though. I'm not surprised.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Okay before this gets out of hand with people who did not study the last few shows:
1 Yes Meredith should have notified Amy as soon as possible but
2 Amy was the last person to talk to Derek alive and should have said something sooner
3 she is most likely the person who called Derek right as he was plowed under
and 4 she was with another patient at the exact moment Derek arrived at the hospital he died at.
Boy is she going to look foolish when she learns it was pretty much her fault Derek died.

Oh and since when have they ever let blood relatives operate on one another in a hospital especially when she has no privileges at that hospital and the patient is not stable to transport.

This is not the way you talk to the person who can get you fired in seconds if she wants with three votes on the board and Bailey and Richard are her friendilies. Callie used to live with Mer, Arizona was in the accident with Mer,and oh yes the Hospital has her name on the building. Dumb move. Seriously dumb

    ReplyDelete
  6. Amelia was in emergency surgery when Derrick was injured. She had a head trauma case at that exact same moment. Even if Meredith called there is no way Amelia is let on the case as a blood relative from a different hospital. Not happening,Plus did not hear Amelia tell Meredith that Amy talked to Derek just before he died and betting dollars to donuts that she was the one who called him the moment he was killed.

    ReplyDelete
  7. "I am sorry but the doctor you are looking for is in surgery at this moment, if this is an actual emergency please dial 911..." plus did Amelia tell Meredith she spoke to Derek just before he died?... No. Hospitals do not allow relatives to operate on one another in trauma unless this is the only doctor in town. This is just Amy being stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Right before Derrick stops he is talking to Amy on the phone. When he is hit the phone is calling him back, (Who could that be?). Oh and just as Derek's ambulance is pulling up at one hospital another brain trauma arrives at Amy's hospital. That is what is being hidden.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Excuses 1 Amelia was in surgery at the time and 2 Meredith had two children with her and when she finally gets the settled passes out from pregnancy so she is unconscious.

I had no idea that if you call someone while they're driving and they choose to go searching for their phone, that it's your fault if they get in an accident. That's some interesting logic there. And by "interesting", I mean "faulty". It's the driver's responsibility to make smart choices while driving, not anyone else's.

    ReplyDelete
  11. According to Kevin this is 11x24 and it's gonna be a two hour episode

    ReplyDelete
  12. How is it her fault that Derek died?

    ReplyDelete
  13. You really hate Amelia don't you? And it was obviously Meredith who called Derek when his car got hit, since she was the one worried all day about his whereabouts.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I know right. @C Spottswood really seems to hate Amelia to the point that he is blaming Derek's death on her. How stupid is that?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ok, just to clarify.
11x24 - Time Stops (May 7th) - One hour episode, first part of the two episode finale event
11x25 - You're My Home (May 14th) - One hour episode, second part of the finale

I don't know they overcomplicate this. I've also seen people refering to the latest episode as 11x22A & 11x22B :D

    ReplyDelete
  16. 1. No. You don't pull someone ov life support till the family is told. Lol Amelia's surgery ended she should have been told then. As his sister.

    2. Irrelevant she should have known LONG before when Mer came back. She should have known the moment she got out of surgery. Or even during surgery another neuro surgeon shoulda taken over for her. Death is not a petty emergency.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ridiculous. Esp since his PORSCHE has blutooth and he doesn't need the actual phone to answer.

    ReplyDelete
  18. ABC is calling is 1122A and 1122B. So Kevin is wrong in calling it 11x24.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Where have you been living as in many places in the States they arrest you for driving and using a cell phone because of all the accidents it causes? Amy knew Derek was driving so if she called it was knowing he should not pick up. It is doubtful legal actions would take place but good luck telling the grieving widow that her husband dies of his own stupidity. Especially when you just accused her of being foolish for not calling you immediately.

Bailey and Kepner are not trying to blame Meredith for not getting them involved in the case now are they?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Really. almost as stupid as thinking someone gives a hoot about a single character in a television series. If nothing is made of the events as stated then so be it but if it becomes an issue, enjoy the recognition of being that guy who made it personal and being wrong to boot.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Bertha Strongham5 May 2015 at 13:39

The man , her sibling, who she was close to....died. get a grip!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't get why everyone is hating on Amelia on this. She has every right to be upset that Meredith didn't call her. If the reverse were to happen, would you hate on Meredith? I don't think so.

And I certainly don't understand why certain people are blaming Amelia for his death. Sheesh.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Lol. Nothing is being "hidden". A brain trauma pulling up at Grey's-Sloane was the writers way of tricking the audience into thinking that "hey look! Derek's in Amelia's care now. he's not going to die...HA! Gotcha suckers!"

Meredith was calling him as well so you can't be sure it was Amelia that called him at that time.

    ReplyDelete
  24. She had knowledge he was driving and if she called, she distracted a driver even if he did not answer the call. do not confuse causality with culpability. She just got through accusing Meredith of being the cause of Derek dying for not calling her sooner. You do not expect Meredith with be upset when she learns that Amy was on the phone with Derek when everyone else Bailey included seemed to know Meredith was worried Derek had not checked in. Go back to One Flight down and see how that day went and remember Derek is dying in that day.3 -26 -15 at what his clock reads as 7:45 pm which is impossible given Meredith sees the police at 5:00 pm. Simple truth to this situation is Derek was driving and some one distracted the driver causing him to paused in the center of both lanes on the road. Primary responsibility lies with the truck driver but the question will come up was Derek's car avoidable at that moment. No, why not? He was sitting there looking for a phone that was going off. Why?

Let's see what they come up with but I doubt the implication will not be made.

    ReplyDelete
  25. You are making no sense. Firstly, Amelia talked to Derek on his way to the airport. And I am sure Meredith is the one who called him later not Amelia.
Also, the crash was pretty much Derek's fault. He shouldn't have parked his car in the middle of the road.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Meredith is the Family. Amy is a relative. It is not even her decision to way in on. Having done this myself I can tell you, you can take all the time you want but if he is no longer an acute care situation and his vital signs are not there the hospital will want you to move him to another facility which does nothing for him.

And you really missed the episodes in specific but you had one attending complaining of a lack of neurosurgeons on staff and you had Owen talking about protocol in informing Amy. The protocol is you do not tell a surgeon anything before or during a procedure that would interfere with of distract the surgeon from that operation. Odds are the patient will suffer if you say anything let alone you have a death of a relative. I would not have let Callie in the OR either and all she was is Derek's good friend.

Your way of looking at this situation has Amy lose her license and the Hospital get sued. And I am pretty sure there is no way in hell Amy is let anywhere near Derek's case.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Could not care less . Looked to see if Meredith could have made the phone call and no it is not possible as she spent most of her day in PTSD with doing everything she could to stay focused agreeing with Bailey to wait until 5 PM to lose it and call. again. Meredith was dealing with the man with the perforated heart and the woman who could not figure out how her date would end. But i will review one flight down to see if I missed some calls.

    ReplyDelete
  28. ANd Derek was saying he was driving and they were talking about the traffic. And you find that call as the last one I find is early in the morning before Dereek could possibly have been hit as he arrives in the ER at approximately 3 PM. And No. The Road was blocked off for the accident, firemen wreckers and ambulance leave a moment before Derek is in his car and struck. The Truck should not have been traveling with any speed during those conditions. expect that to come up too as everyone points fingers in accidents where a motorist dies.

    ReplyDelete
  29. No the two ambulances were no trick as the idea was simply to show Amy could not possibly have tended to Derek. It is clear from the totality of the ER scene that Derek is in another hospital that does not do trauma and that is not good. Last line from previous episode is "Why do bad things happen to good people?" and the thought of you do not know how to handle it until it happens. Find that call as she was near catatonic form most of the plane crash having bailey tell her to go home or call at 5PM. Police arrive at 5 PM

    ReplyDelete
  30. Apparantly you are very good at watching tv and very poor at reading. I never said Amelia could be Derek's doctor. As his family she should have been notified before Meredith pulled the plug. She is right she never got to say goodbye. That is WRONG and you hating Amelia a tv character is not going to change my mind.

Yes. Neuro is short handed in the hospital w Derek gone. Heard that. But that doesn't mean there is NO one else on staff. Come on do you think Amelia is working 24/7? Someone else can take over. Who do you think manned the hospital for the funeral? Don't answer. I won't read your reply. You can't fix stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  31. In the clip she is talking to his wife. Get your own grip and understand that this is the same idiot who chased off Owen and yelled at Richard in the last episode. The same woman who broke down with Herman on the table and she is making a huge mistake in accusing Meredith of anything.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Go pull the plug on some one and see how easy it is to get people in on time. Until you have learn that you call and most are not able to do anything to be there in time, especially when there is organ donation to be considered. In the end only the person who has to sign off on the paperwork need be informed. Saying good bye implies the person can hear you . Derek had bled out 2 hours before the neurologist arrived and Meredith could see all this in the charts when she arrived. Their could be no meaningful good byes like with Mark. Derek could not hear a thing.

As for SGH neuro, let's think on this. Herman is on the table 16 hours and no one is assisting Amy but Stephanie. Yes I do think there is a problem in that area of the Hospital, most likely because Derek stopped teaching and became more or a research doctor before he left it all up to Amelia to run. And if you go back and watch that surgery, Meredith is the next closest thing they had to a neuro surgeon, and; Amy is likely to have radiation sickness from touching the seeds without her gloves. This could all be symptoms of an yet undiagnosed condition Amy is suffering with. Either that or she has lost it for no reason at all. I like the cancer idea as that will make her an arc next season.

Frankly when I saw that Owen was the one who told Amy about the accident I knew this stuff was coming and got a long lecture on how there is no protocol or etiquette for notifying people about a death. I know there are both. While Meredith broke with etiquette she did so with the intentions of making sure Derek's last request was honored, namely he wanted another child. Meredith had one Miscarriage and one C Section so it was smart to eliminate stress. Unless a legal document compels Meredith to do otherwise it was prudent to leave town and let people stew in their own juices. Amy is the last person to talk to Derek alive so she said her goodbyes and he just saw his family before coming home so they said there goodbyes too. The only ones cheated seem to be the kids who where asleep when their dad left but who is going to traumatize them with a dead body unless they can't avoid it.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Amelia is pissed off because she didn't deal with Derek's death for a long time and it's all hitting her all at once and she needs to be mad at someone. The easiest person to be mad at is Meredith. She needs to grief a better way than this...

  34. disqus_a1hsIVwzJS5 May 2015 at 16:37

I'm not sure why I'm bothering - but I think the point isn't that Meredith didn't inform Ameila - it's that she didn't even bother to try. And she did have AMPLE time. Meredith is Meredith and I can't say that it shocks me that dark and twisty wasn't able to mentally adjust enough to inform other "relatives" prior to following through on any decisions - but Amelia (especially given that she lives and works with both of them) has every right to be upset that no one even attempted to notify her until the next day.

    ReplyDelete
  35. You the most funny of amy haters!!! Hahaha..how come u say amy is relative. Even in the real life, family is family eventhough they got married or having a family on their own. U don't treat ur person's family like an outsider. She's is his sister. She has right to know. At least been informed.

In this show, this is just a normal reaction. Me myself would ask the same thing if this is happen to me.

Most funny is u say amy should know because derek on the phone earlier?haha!! She's not god who can predict somebody will die especially her own brother. This is a tragedy. Mer doesn't have a siblings before where shew grew up together. So maybe she think its not a big deal.

Anyway, this is just a tv show. Its not even real. Why so serious.

    😂😂😂

    ReplyDelete
  36. Same here.. They hate her because she's been brought from PP to Greys. They hate her because she's become owen hunt new love interest. They hate her because they find her character overshadow the main characters. I get everyone have their own fav characters. But this is tv shows. Just watch it right? I'm with amy characters. Freshness. Not to replace anyone. Just adding for the cool storyline.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think i am gonna love this scene. This is not a bad thing. Two persons confronts each other. I'm pretty sure both of them have their own words that need to be said to each other. Love both this ladies.

    ReplyDelete
  38. This is the right one. 👏🏻

    ReplyDelete
  39. seems like none of you people have a sense of what is acceptable behavior or not, so you do get your Medical license and become a surgeon and then be lucky enough to get married and have a third child with complicated births, then have your husband die on you and have his sister who has sibling issues with him come to you and accuse you of taking your good sweet time in calling her , like she is the only person in the world that matters and your feelings and your wisdom mean nothing all the time she was the last person to talk to your husband alive and not want her fired for her impertinence and careless behavior. You be that wife and that doctor and see how you like it and stop talking like a child about hating a fictitious character on a soon to be dead television show like Caterina is not already looking for her next role. Derek is gone, the show has one year left if that and she will be moving on soon enough.

    ReplyDelete
  40. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teQicmBS1vg

I could care less about the adolescent ramplings about what Meredith did not do when in fact she did not have to do anything at all. She looked after her husband, his wishes and his children and in doing so some relative with a God complex who thinks she can create miracles gets upset. The next thing you should all remember is Amy yelling at STephanie about talking to her patients out of turn and the damage that can do and about Amy telling Meredith that she has not dealt with losing the man she loves yet. Both of these moments should leave Amy choking on her own words.

And lets go back in time now and see did Amy call to check on Derek then? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-uR1lAGBzA you kee p thinking this is some isolated incident and there is no reason why thing went as they did with reason. Seriously you people should have to deal with one of these situations once and you would learn the way people do what they can do and that is that. Could Meredith have called Amy? perhaps. SHould she? Hell no. One more thing you miss is Amy is a drug addict who turns on to drugs and runs away in situations where family and loved one die in front of her. That is the last person on earth you tell her brother is dead without first setting up a suicide watch.

and lets let Amelia talk to herself
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oma-OYG-Dz8
she is a runner afraid of relationships and he is a man who wanted to be about his children

    ReplyDelete
  41. Amelia is hurts and is normal, but really, she cant does nothing, she was him sister... Still i understand the both , for me meredith does the right thing ;)

    ReplyDelete
  42. U missing the main point here. But its okay.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I find Amelia as annoying as the next person, but I'm 100% on her side here. She should have at the very LEAST been informed. And she more than had the right to be there.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The main point will be and Thursday it will make more sense, Amy blames Meredith for pulling the plug too soon. Watch the footage of the procedure again and see how Derek expires immediately testifying to the severity of his injuries.

Amy is not saying you did not tell me so I could say goodbye but hey I am a miracle worker, you should have called me in.

Meanwhile in the plane crash the girl had the same problem, and it did not show up on the CT and all they could do is sit and wait and hope it passed. The summation was bad things happen to good people and you do not know if you can do anything or not until it happens and then it happens.

I repeat Amy had a patient when Derek arrived at the facility, The doctors did not wait for any sort of medical release before rushing Derek into surgery. he was in surgery for more than 2 hours when the neurosurgeon arrived from eating dinner and and by that time he is brain damaged if not brain dead. the police showed up at 5 which could not have been until after Winnie told the staff Derek was a doctor but they had no last name yet. They got the name, found Meredith and took her to the hospital. She arrived 7:40pm almost the same time on Derek's car radio The chart comes and Derek is in ICU. It is clear his organs are torn up and his eyes as well. The option is Meredith's pull the plug of send Derek to an LTAC in an ambulance. Even if she had sent Derek to SGH by helicopter if possible it is doubtful he would survive the trip and he would spend the rest of his days as a human vegetable. There is noting Amy could have done this go around and no one would have let her.

As is Amy is the only person who got to say goodbye to Derek alive. SHe attended his funeral or so it sounded from the Eulogy talking about him as a brother and she was the only sister in town.

What more do you expect the grieving widow could have done? SERIOUSLY, Meredith is the wife. Etiquette and decorum say Amelia is wrong for ever bringing this up and I do not see her family taking Amy's side in this. It is callous what she does in the clip.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Could be that or the realization that Derek will forever be the better Doctor so now she has to accept that fact. There are many dynamics to that relationship. It is a sibling rivalry unto death and beyond.

    ReplyDelete
  46. derekmorgansfakegirlfriend6 May 2015 at 05:58

Actually, legally, Meredith, the surviving spouse is in control when the other spouse is incapacitated. I understand Amelia's pain but she was informed as soon as Meredith was emotionally able to so. Amelia can be upset or enraged but it wasn't her call, it was Meredith's.

    ReplyDelete
  47. This is not about amy need to operate on derek. But yeah why not. U already hate the character. Whatever the character bring seems wrong. I get that. Its ok. We all have our own perspective. I respect yours. Please respect mine. Cool?

    ReplyDelete
  48. It wasn't her call to pull the plug, but she is right on both points:
As a doctor, she could have offered a profecional opinion.

And more than that it was her right to be informed before Meredith made the decision as his sister, and it was her right to be by her brother's side when he died. And Meredith did take that from her.

Knowing Mer I can tell she wasn't malicious about her actions, but she was inconsiderate and selfish and she deserves to be held accountable for that. And I'm not going to make excuses that she's never had a loving family, and all that crap, to let it slide that she forgot or didn't bother or wasn't in an emotional state to call her husband's sister when she wasn't that far away.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Stop telling me how I feel and that would be a start but as for now your words are hollow attempts to spin matters your own way. Fact is this story has hit pretty close to home on a number of incidents where I dealt with similar situations and had to deal with complaints like Amy's. Invariably in every case the person complaining was trying to justify to the world and to themselves their lack of effort while the decedent was still alive. For me every day is a good day to save a life. and if all you have to do may be as little as picking up a phone or making a visit to keep a person from dying faster than needed then that is the minimum I expect to see out of a person. Derek's story is that of the loving son and brother who left his home when he broke up with his wife over sleeping with his best friend. He came to Seattle 12 years ago and in those years we have seldom seen most of his family, but before he died the writers made sure he touched base with everyone, in particular Amy who agreed a year ago to come to Seattle to replace Derek as they couple was going to Washington DC. During that time however Derek found fault with Amy's medical style and all but got her fired in the process. His brotherly love along with his knowledge of her meth addiction, her failed pregnancy, her failed marriage and her father being killed in their presence made him hard on his sister. When he left she did all she could to prove she was as good if not better than her brother. In the process she took on a 16 hour tumor removal surgery that involved radioactive seeds and from the one comment on the post operative care situation left Dr Herman blind in a nursing facility. Mid operation Amy begged Richard to fly Derek in but Richard refused giving Amy the strength to finish on her own. Derek returned and immediately Amy gave him crap as she did not want to give him back the job of head of Neurosurgery. After a long conversation it was clear Derek had seen his mother and had come back specifically to be with Meredith and his children. He did not want to be the boss. On the way to the airport Derek called Amy to tell her he was running late, a message she did not share with Meredith and neither did Bailey or April but it will come up. Derek died and Meredith went into shock for a number of reasons not the least of which was she was pregnant and the love of her life was no more. She left with out contacting anyone because she needed time to regroup as Derek had told her once upon a time. This will be the leap off mark for the next show where it will be learned Amelia had a trauma case at the same time Derek was brought into be examined. If that is not the case then I underestimate the writers of the show who have seldom let me down in the past. OH snd if you had read other of my posts on this subject: 1 I pointed out that not telling Amy would end up in a problem when that episode first aired and people thought me nuts.;and 2 I pointed out when the last episode aired that Caterina has the best chance of an Emmy nom of anyone on this cast this year. No I do not hate the character, I merely understand the writing better than most. Dark and twisty is my thing. take care and enjoy Thursday.

  50. Ugh. This should have been about Amelia not being given the chance to say goodbye to Derek. Why the hell are they making it about her not being able to save him? What the hell are they doing to Amelia, they're completely ruining her character.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Lol. I have no idea what you're talking about here. You're not making any sense.

    ReplyDelete
  52. If you're a surgeon just as good as Amelia, I think you'll be thinking the same thing as well. I don't think they are ruining her character at all. I find it perfectly normal that she thinks she could have saved him.

She did after all took out Herman's tumor without her dying afterall.

    ReplyDelete
  53. It just comes across as very arrogant to me. I admit I may have overreacted by saying her character is being ruined but it's only because I adored Amelia on PP and this season, there is just something about her that rubs me the wrong way.

Very excited to see a bunch of the lady docs working together in the field!

    ReplyDelete
  55. It has nothing to do with who legally had control over decision. Amelia at least deserved to say goodbye to her brother.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I understand where you're coming from. I adore Amelia since her PP days and I don't like how her character here seem a little one dimension.

Throughout this season her story was her rivalry with Derek. I thought it was settled when he left but when he came up, it's back again. Is that all she is to the show? Her character on PP clearly shows that isn't the case and it seems like the writers left some of that character behind in PP when they brought her over to Grey's. Lol.

I feel like the main point is maybe that our friend above is cray cray and there is no rationalizing. But what do I know? I don't have a sense of what is acceptable behavior... #nuances
