Game of Thrones - The Sons of the Harpy - Advance Preview + Dialogue Teasers

If you have seen the leaked episodes please do not spoil things for other fans by revealing any details from them here, including who said the quotes at the end of the preview. We have a dedicated page set up on the site which is the only place you may freely discuss the episodes if you have watched them before they air, it can be found here.

Please do not post, or ask for, any links to the leaked episodes.

As the title suggests, we start and end the episode with Meereen and Daenerys firmly in mind, although not everyone wants what is best for the young Queen. We pick up the story more or less where the previous instalment left off, with Jorah working out the logistics of transporting the kidnapped Tyrion all the way back to Slaver’s Bay. Luckily enough, that’s the way he was heading before he insisted on escaping Varys’ carriage for an hour or two to stretch his legs last week. But if he found himself bored and confined during the journey before, I can’t see him enjoying this last leg of the trip at all.

Back in King’s Landing Cersei continues to be on the offensive after last week’s battle of wills with her daughter-in-law seems to confirm that she is the one Maggy the Frog alluded to all those years ago. As we saw in the promo, one of her next moves is to deepen her association with the High Sparrow, relying on her Machiavellian skills and charm offensive to win over his support. With her blessing the Faith Militant become a sanctioned organisation that immediately tackle the task of cleansing the city of the corrupt and debauched.

Over in Dorne Jamie and Bronn attempt to sneak over the border undetected, still wary that anything too obvious or aggressive may only anger the Martell’s and start a war. Unfortunately for them they do run into trouble early on, which at least gives Jamie a chance to see if all that left-handed sword training has paid off. He’s going to need some on the job practice in order to improve before their mission can succeed I feel, there’s a certain amount of luck which gets him through this first encounter. With Oberyn’s daughters gathering to seek revenge, he’s going to have to be fast learner too!

Elsewhere in the episode Shireen (Kerry Ingram) once again nabs one of the most memorable and charming scenes of the week as more hints about Greyscale are revealed. While Sansa and Littlefinger visit the vaults under Winterfell before he makes his way back to Kings Landing. I’m looking forward to seeing how she copes on her own; it’s one of the changes from the books that I think works well. I don’t think that Baelish has factored in the White Walkers being anything but a myth in his plans though, which could be a massive mistake. As could the marriage to Ramsay, I do hope Reek will keep an eye on her.

The Sons of the Harpy airs on Sunday May 3rd from HBO, below are a few dialogue teasers to see you through until then. If you want to have a go at guessing who said what, I will fill in any correct answers before it airs. Don’t forget to come back and vote in our poll after the episode and let us know what you thought.

“Winterfell was your home once. Don’t you want to chase the rats out of it?”

“The small council grows smaller and smaller”

“A betting man would put their money on Stannis. As it happens, I am a betting man”

“You’re going the wrong way. My sister is in Westeros”

“His Holiness is praying. He will not be disturbed”

“Are you ashamed of me father?”

“Tarth, Ser Jamie. The Sapphire Isle”

“He murdered my father. If I ever see him I’ll kill him too, and then I’ll give him your regards”

“I’ve had an exciting life; I want my death to be boring”

“There’s a special place in the seventh hell for your kind”

Well, I didn't watch it but I heard that there will be

A scene with Jon and Melisandre
A scene with Sansa and littlefinger visiting a grave
A scene with Daenerys and Barristan Selmy

and If you put all this scene together you know who Jon is.

  2. Just watched the last three episodes. I really enjoyed every one of them. Usually I like the first and the last two episodes of the season but season 5 has really surprised me.
Anyway thank you for the advance preview. I'll wait for an HD version of the episode since people say that the leaked episode 4 is out of sync.

  4. For some reason I'm super pumped for tomorrow's episode...

  5. Hi there jp, sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I've had a nephew's birthday and a hell of a work schedule to get through this weekend, lol.

I'm afraid neither of those are quite right, though I can see how they fit. As a hint, the two people speaking these lines say them to each other in the episode, though they are in separate scenes that they are spoken.

  6. That association with HighSparrow wont do good is anyone has a sin to eb punished for that is Cercei and one little mistake will have them on her in a second.
    Thanks for this preview.

  7. That's OK, Sandi. I wasn't even thinking Jaime for that quote. Totally out of left field. I guess Weiss and Benioff are REALLY deviating from the books

  8. Yeah, lol. I think that one line is to make up for the two brother not meeting up during the escape and Jamie telling the truth about Tyrion's first wife, the supposed prostitute whose name I can't recall atm? They fall out over that iirc, rather than the murder of Tywin.

  9. Yeah, Tyrion is the only good one in that whole family. He's the only Lannister with any decency, anyway

  10. I kind of like Jamie, though more so in the books than in the show truth be told, and certainly more when he's with Brienne than when his bitch of a sister has her claws on him and is able to manipulate him.

As for the show, I'm finding Jamie's story more interesting at the moment. Anything to with Dany is such a yawn fest so I'm a little concerned because that's where Tyrion is heading. But then again the Sand Snakes haven't shown a lot of promise either yet.... lol

  11. I never liked Jaime. Ever since he pushed Bran Stark out of that window, I've wanted him dead

  12. Ha yes, I detested him in the first season. I have enjoyed his journey since then though, especially the trek back to King's Landing after Catelyn makes the bargain. But then again, I also found Joffrey an interesting character and was sad to lose him from the show. The little bastard deserved to die, but Jack Gleeson was a brilliant at portraying him, lol.

  13. Yeah, Joffrey was a great villain. Not to get off topic, but I know you live in the UK. I was wondering how you feel about David Cameron winning reelection. I don't know if you know anything about US politics, but our conservatives, the GOP, as we call them are all crazy crooked liars. What about yours?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Kind of the same, lol. I'm not happy at all really, being disabled in the UK isn't a good thing right now with the Tory's in power tbh. I'm concerned about what they will do to make life harder for people like me in the next five years.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Oh, shit. I'm so sorry, Sandi. That's horrible. I'm physically disabled myself, and I've been on SS since 1999. The Republicans here want to take Social Security and Medicare benefits away from us

  16. Sorry to hear that buddy. Meh, they don't know what it's like.
