Empire of the Dead - In Development for TV

Thanks to Mac for the heads up.

The production-finance company made the announcement Thursday at Cannes.

The series will be written by Romero and longtime partner Peter Grunwald, and executive produced by Romero and Grunwald with Demarest’s Sam Englebardt and William D. Johnson.

Romero’s iconic 1968 film “Night of the Living Dead” conceived the idea of a zombie apocalypse. “Empire of the Dead” mixes in vampires with zombies.

    'The Master himself' has fallen out of grace and made two of the worst horror films in recent history.(Diary of the Dead and Survival of the Dead) so I wouldn't exactly put my utmost trust in him.

    So it's based on a graphic novel? Never heard of it, but if Romero is involved you know there's some good horror pedigree in there...
