  1. Go Murder and Empire

  2. Well deserved for Parenthood, Mom, and Silicon Valley! Also, Constance Wu is so awesome on FOTB!

    ReplyDelete
  3. Drama wise mostly cable tv fan fest! I don't watch to much of it so cheering for Viola and HTGAWM.
I just don't understand why anyone would put OITNB as a comedy. Like this objective view.

    ReplyDelete
  4. and go FOTB and Mom!!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Soooo, No Tatiana Maslany and/or Orphan Black noms, or Outlander of any kind? Huh...

    ReplyDelete
  6. Five nominations for Justified.
    Four for The Americans.
Mom deservedly broke through at last.
Constance Wu has made her mark.
    This list makaes me happy.

  7. Aden Young, Matthew Rhys, Bob Odenkirk and Timothy Olyphant getting some love, hell yes.

Really great to see Justified because its so often overlooked, ditto with The Americans.

Walton Goggins getting two nominations is well deserved.

Disappointed in the lack of Parks and Recreation considering that perfect final season but good to see the You're The Worst, Comeback and FOTB get some comedy love

  10. No Hannibal this year again....

I don't get how those so called critics managed to ignore this masterpiece for two years now.

Shame on them! And thanks to the ones who put the show on their top of the best shows of last year

  11. Quite happy about the following:
    - Game of Thrones
    - Homeland
    - Taraji P. Henson
    - Julianna Margulies
    - Viola Davis (yaaay)
    - Carrie Coon (super yay!!! I wish Justin had been nominated as well but I will take what I can get)
    - Christine Baranski
    - Christopher Eccleston
    - Mandy Patinkin
    - Julianne Nicholson
    - Mom (yaaaaaaaaay)
    - Chris Messina (please freaking win!!!!)
    - Will Forte
    - Constance Wu (I didn't actually think it would happen!!)
    - Allison Janney, although at this point it was a dead obvious sure thing and any awards that don't include her won't really be taken serious by me
    - Mayim Bialik
    - Finn Wittrock (very deserved!!)
    - Sarah Paulson, though she should a lead for Freak Show along with Lange, not supporting, in my opinion

  12. I believe the best win to deal with the award shows is to be happy for whichever of our favorites that made it and hope the other make it in another award show/ year. Otherwise we will always be unhappy I believe.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Chris Messina is by far the best comedy actor on any comedy I watch right now. Not even close. How he doesn't swap all the awards is beyond me! I am sooo happy he was included here! Fingers crossed for a win! And I want Mindy officially renewed soon by the way!

Wow. I really liked this list. It seems very democratic like the voters were really paying attention to every show in every network, even CW. CW might be through the roof with 3 nominations for Jane the Virgin. If they could get an Emmy nomination, that would be history being made for such a small network.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Also, I may get shot for even saying this, but in my very humble opinion, as someone who really enjoyed Empire but that also watches a lot of other TV, I do not really agree, even remotely, with Empire being considered a "best" drama. Taraji by all means and I would have recognized Terrence Howard as well but the show itself I don't think should be there, not when other shows are not. Just my opinion and obviously people will disagree.

    ReplyDelete
  16. These nominations are amazing. With the exception of one or two choices, IMO, it's damn near perfect. I can't believe all of the love I see for Justified. Now I'll have to watch the finale again. "We dug coal together" just makes me cry.

This is who I'm rooting for -
Drama Series - Justified or The Americans
Best Actress - Eva Green (!) Finally.
Best Actor - Charlie Hunnam or TimothyOlyphant
    Best Supporting - Joelle Carter
    Best Supporting - Walton Goggins
Best Guest - Sam Elliot or Walton Goggins (SOA)
    Limited Series - 24

I still haven't gotten around to Empire yet and I don't watch any comedies or reality. I just love this list.
    Prays for a Justified sweep.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm surprised that I finally can agree with at least few awards nominations: Green, Young, Winnick, Nicholson and You're the worst.

  18. Matthew Zamora6 May 2015 at 18:56

I can't believe no nominations for Kerry, Bellamy, or Scandal at all... Also no Modern Family noms? Yeah I know it's won enough but still... Others have been nominated and won enough times before yet still nominated... Hurray for Eden Sher though finally some recognition for The Middle... Hope she gets Emmy nom too

YES for empire and How to get away with murder!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Kinda proud of American Crime! Never thought it would make the list!
Yaaaaas for The Americans, Sarah Paulson, Constance Wu and Mom!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Go Jane!Happy for HTGAWM too!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yes! I am beyond thrilled for some PARENTHOOD and JTV love. Woot!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I will watch Bates Motel this summer. Everyone says such good things about her that I need to check it out.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Vera Farmiga is breathtaking as Norma Bates.

I recommend the series, but it is a slow build at times.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Is Betty White's Off Their Rockers still on the air?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Emmy nominations in a month!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I like him but the best of the lot?Really?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Who is better?

(I give you Ty Burell, but that is about it)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yes! Eva Green, finally, she definitely deserves it.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Thank god you at least mentioned Ty Burell!I love him!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Eva Green should definatly win her category for the preformance she did on Penny Dreadful.

Nice to see a little love for Vikings and Katheryn Winnick on the Supporting Actress category as well!

    ReplyDelete
  32. That best actress in television category is pretty amazing. I'm personally rooting for Kerri Russell, because I love the Americans, but I'd be happy with any of those actresses winning. Also, nice to see Empire getting some recognition.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Abraham Michaels6 May 2015 at 20:37

Well Jimmy Smits and Kim Coates got snubbed for best supporting actor in a drama series and so did Sons of Anarchy for best drama. I love that Justified got the most nominations though.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Too much awesomess from them. Always.

I'm so moved by Charlie Hunnam's nomination.
I'm beyond than happy for Justified, The Americans, Eva Green, The Leftovers's duo and Orange is the New Black. Congrats to all.

    ReplyDelete
  35. No that's fair enough. I feel that way about shows like Masters of Sex and Mad Men, which I watched for a while and found incredibly overrated. I wasn't a huge fan of Empire in the beginning, and I still wouldn't say it's my favorite show, but I do think it deserves to be there. For starters, it has two great leads, which always helps, as well as a charismatic supporting cast. Then there's the novelty factor, which always gets points (Nashville is the only similar kind of show),. But novelty aside, I think that the show does an amazing job with the music aspect. They consistently produce good original music and the actors deliver these songs with such an authentic vibe that I could easily imagine hearing some of these songs on the radio. And I've watched a lot of music-related movies/shows and most of them are unable to pull this off. So they deserve credit for that. And last but not least, the ratings are astronomical and while popularity shouldn't play a role in critics choice, there really is something to be said about a show that can garner these kind of ratings in an era where ratings like that generally don't exist for TV shows, aside from TBBT. So they're doing something that reasonates with people, so I'm glad they're getting recognized, especially since this is the kind of show that typically would not get much recognition. There are a number of good network shows that tend to get overlooked and I'm glad it didn't happen to this show.

Well Charlie Day for one. Jim Parsons. Though he's not the lead Ron Funches makes me laugh with every line of dialogue he says on Undateable.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Abraham Michaels6 May 2015 at 20:44

Are they even eligible? Season 3 hasn't even aired yet.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Viola Davis will win, my money's on her, she did a great job, but she has tough competition tough. Also have mixed feeling for Comedy actress because both Gina Rodriguez and Constance Wu are excellent actress.
Other show I'm rooting for is Shark Tank.

  39. Abraham Michaels6 May 2015 at 20:45

Love your choices! Sons of Anarchy and Justified have been my 2 favorite shows for years. Really hoping someone from them wins and they get some Emmy nominations this year.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Abraham Michaels6 May 2015 at 20:46

When is the exact date for the nominations?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yes, I had momentously forgotten about him but I love him too, I think it is a tie for me.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I do not know Charlie Day.

I like Jim Parsons and I love what he does with Sheldon but I am more into the subtle things that Messina does with Danny. Parsons is awesome too and he deserves all the awards he has received, but personally speaking, I prefer Messina.

Ron Funches is fun but Shelby is a one dimensional character so far, I wouldn't even consider him on the same caliber as these other guys. No offense and he does great at what he is asked to do, but I think they are in different leagues.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Abraham Michaels6 May 2015 at 21:01

Charlie Day is on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia which has been my favorite comedy for years. Ron plays Shelly by the way and of course he's not on their level but as far as supporting characters go he's probably my favorite. And his appearances on a show called @Midnight on Comedy Central always makes me laugh as well.

    ReplyDelete
  44. So happy for Freddie Highmore, Eva Green, Viola Davis and Finn Wittrock.

Would've loved to see Tatiana Maslany and Travis Fimmel in the list too, they need more recognition

    ReplyDelete
  45. How can anyone decide between Eva and Vera they are both phenomenal also 2 fantastic shows Penny Dreadful and Bates Motel they both should also have been nominated

    ReplyDelete
  46. It would be really nice. I'm just really happy to see Justified get so much recognition. This final season was the best part of TV.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Prays for a Justified sweep

    Hope not. :P ;) :)

Personally, I would love it if Justified shares the awards with The Americans.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I wish The Legend of Korra was nominated

    ReplyDelete
  49. Aryam Manzueta6 May 2015 at 21:52

    GRAVITY FALLS YAAAAS!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Carrie Coon YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

And look at those noms for Jane The Virgin. CW must be static!

Gina go for that Emmy NOM gurl.

Keri Russel and Mathew. Eva Green and Christopher Eccleston getting noms its kind of amazing.

Jhonny Gaecki being nominated and not KJim Parsns is really surprising,
God so many good people nominated. Jessica Lange and the people from AHS, Viola Davis.
    They are all great.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I wish they'd take every award they're nominated for but I'm realistic.

    ReplyDelete
  52. CHRIS MESSINA, FTW! <3 So happy for him, he's truly amazing on The Mindy Project. (Renew it, FOX!)
Also, I'm glad to see Eden Sher in the noms. About time.
Jane the Virgin deserves the noms too, Gina & Jaime are excellent.
Bates Motel & The Americans also make me happy.
I'm surprised Peter Dinklage wasn't nominated though, he knocked it out of the park last season on GoT.
Tatiana Maslany deserved a nod too though.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Completely agree about Chris Messina. He's so brilliant even in scenes where there are no dialogues. His expressions and acting take the cake.
He does the more serious-ish roles (like The Newsroom) so well too.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Delighted for Eden Sher and The Middle. Such an underrated show and cast. I do not however, understand the big fuss over Jane the Virgin.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Wow! The critics really dug deep in nominating You're the Worst for best comedy series. This little know FXX gem may be the most original comedy in years. I was thrilled when it was renewed for a second season.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Basically none of the actors or shows I think deserve recognition (aside from Eva Green) are on here, but I've become quite accustomed to that.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Abraham Michaels7 May 2015 at 03:11

That's a little earlier then usual isn't it? I thought it's they are usually announced in July.

    ReplyDelete
  58. It's actually on Thursday, July 16th (http://www.emmys.com/news/primetime-emmys-calendar/primetime-emmy-awards-industry-calendar-2015). The "Events Calender" on this site is wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Archie Panjabi totally deserves a nomination for Best Supporting Actress this year. Just sayin'. Christine Baranski does, too, I'm happy for hers & Julianna's nominations, but it sucks that Archie has been overlooked. I still can't imagine TGW without Kalinda Sharma. :(

    ReplyDelete
  60. Chiara Giacometti11 May 2015 at 12:35

Yes! Empire for best drama and Murder for best actress.
