Agents of SHIELD - Season 2 Finale - Post Mortems on Simmons' Fate & More *Updated*

13 May 2015

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Are you setting up Secret Warriors for next season?
JEFFREY BELL: I would say setting up is perhaps an over statement. Certainly we’re tipping our hat to a woman named Daisy Johnson talking to Coulson about a secret group of powered people.

Simmons has disappeared! What happened to her?
Oh, this weird alien rock seemed to dissolve and consume her and come back together. No one was more shocked about that than us. [Laughs]

The episode ends with a Contagion-esque sequence showing how the Terrigen Mist is spread through ocean life. Is the Diviner metal dissolved out or will the fish/fish oils be lethal to those that don’t have the Inhuman gene?

We have to watch and find out. To say too much would spoil the fun. We definitely see the mist, whether it’s the old-school mist or the one with the metal one, we need to wait and see.

Ward (Brett Dalton) has been in the background this season. What was the decision to make him take over Hydra? Does he blame SHIELD for Kara’s death?

Yes, he does blame SHIELD for Kara’s death. God forbid he ever take responsibility for anything he’s ever done. For us it’s been a real journey for Ward. He started off as Garrett’s (Bill Paxton) right-hand and was always a guy who looked to someone else to tell him what to do. This season was him coming to terms with his past, finding closure, and in a sense forgiving himself. And then he goes off about getting together with the old team and he talks about how much he regrets what happened and he wishes he could be with the old team again. After the events of the last couple of episodes, that seems to all go out the window and going back to Hydra, the fact that he says he misses being part of the team, is a big clue to how he’s feeling. In the past he had no personal agenda against Coulson (Clark Gregg) or the team. It feels like everything between Ward and SHIELD next year will be very personal.

There will be a time jump going into Season 3

The "Agents of SHIELD" writers are currently putting together their plan for Season 3, and as it stands right now they're planning for some sort of time jump between the end of Season 2 and where they pick up again. They just haven't decided just how much time is going to be used up in that transition.

"It behooves us to have a little bit of time, rather than picking things right up. It allows people to be fresh for Season 3, so you won't necessarily have had to watch the end of Season 2 for an entry point," Bell says. "Whether it's a week or a month or a few months, in general a bit of time allows you to reset [and] put characters into [the show] in a new way. That worked really well for us coming into this season. I suspect we'll do something similar next year."

  1. GO TO HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WARD WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SHIELD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. The writers are assholes. They were going out on a date! Jemma basically admitted she feels the same way about Fitz and then she's suddenly gone!

    ReplyDelete
  3. People said Ward was Hydra...Now he is Hydra. This should be fun.

My Tuesdays freed up from here on out. At least there's Turn on AMC

  5. I dont think the Terrigen is gonna affect humas, i think it will develop those people with dormant power and bring it them into the light.
Ward needs to die, really , they clearly dont know what to do with his character.
The need to watch the scurity tape ASAP to see what the rock did to Simmons, ROCK THAT WAS NOT COOL.
If they do teh time jump like the did in S1 for S2, then it means we will see what happened to Simmons in flashbacks?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Well, I figured there would be a time jump. Give Bobbie and Couslon time to heal/get new arm, give May a chance to come back from her 'vacation'. ... Seemed like a given.

What Jeffrey Bell said about Fitz and Simmons' development (season 1 = practically one person, season 2 = being separated, growing as individuals) is exactly what I've always though: they needed to be apart for a while to realize who thy were as individuals. That was actually good for them (though hard to watch sometimes).

I'm as curious as everyone about what will happen with Simmons. It's going to be a long summer. Glad to see at least that all regulars are supposed to be back in the Fall.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I have not seen the episode yet as I wait to watch my shows on Hulu, and have not read this post, so I REALLY hope the "Post Mortem" in the headline is not some massive spoiler.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Did bobbie lose an arm too??

    ReplyDelete
  9. No. She just needs time to heal. Coulson needs time to heal AND get a new arm 😉

    ReplyDelete
  10. Don't get your hopes up for flashbacks! Part of me wanted Fitz in a coma as a flashback, but we got one line about it.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Whaaat dude that was so good! (Aside from Simmons...)

    ReplyDelete
  12. AGREED re FitzSimmons. SO HAPPY I can call them FitzSimmons again!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Maybe they'll pick a restaurant by the Season 3 finale!

    ReplyDelete
  14. - More heartache in the future for FitzSimmons right when they were about to take their relationship to the next level. Can't the writers just let them be happy for once without something always ruining it?! This is a Whedon show after all though so I guess not.

    - It would be so much fun if the Diviner metal dissolved and now the mist has transformed more people into Inhumans!

    - Yes Ward. Go and resurrect Hydra so more people can start hating you (including me). I'm so done with him after that finale. SHIELD needs to just eliminate him already.

    - Please let it be Secret Warriors that Coulson and Skye are working on. That would be so awesome.

    - Coulson with a robotic arm would look badass...

    - I wonder why Jeff just straight up shut down that Bobbi/Lance spinoff question. Something must have gone down behind the scenes.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Not sold on the time jump, since we won't get to see the aftermath of Simmons disappearance.

Looks like the EW blurb on Simmons that had the Elizabeth interview isn't here. This line is single-handedly going to keep me going this summer:

“Having had that conversation, in her mind, whatever happens to her, she’s thinking, ‘Well, I know Fitz is going to come and get me because he’s my boyfriend now,’” she says with a laugh."

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH, GOODNIGHT.

  16. I'm so sick of that Whedon excuse. I realize it's history, but if Jed and Maurissa are just trying to emulate a Joss show at the cost of happy FitzSimmons, I'm going to be pissed. I look to Marvel to be happy, and apparently all Joss knows how to do on television is rip peoples hearts out.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Well Jed is related to Joss so I can see why the show has been giving us so much heartache since the beginning. Jed is just as heartless as his brother XD (Nahhh, I'm kidding lol). Though as of late, Marvel has been kinda dark in their offerings (Daredevil, Age of Ultron) They're maturing and I think thats a good thing.

    ReplyDelete
  18. have not seen the episode yet, but Ward will be Hydra for real!?!? :(

    ReplyDelete
  19. Probably just using the Hydra name but definitely a full out villain complete with his own set of minions.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Re the Bobbi/Lance spinoff, there is always a lot of studio politics happening. It may be that they decide to do the spin-off in the 2016/2017 season instead. Its most likely that Marvel/ABC came the a decision that keeping them on the main show was for the best and they still have that super secret John Ridley Marvel project in the works. 4 Marvel ABC shows may have been too much.

    ReplyDelete
  21. A few months timejump makes sense, I kind of like the MCU keeping its movies and shows timeline the same as ours. So the Battle of NY in Avengers happened in May 2012 the same time the movie came out and in AOU its been 3 years in their time as well as ours. So S3 should pick up around September 2015. Makes it easier to follow especially when trying to figure out the overall timeline of the MCU.

    ReplyDelete
  22. right?! and now it's not just a friends combination, now it's a SHIP NAME!!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Season 3 FINALE?! you're crazy LOL, i need it by at least the MID-season finale, sooner than that if possible.

    ReplyDelete
  24. WARD said he wasn't Hydra, i know people say StandWithWard fans are INSANE, and for now i've lost hope, but there's a SLIVER of me that still wants redemption for Ward.

    ReplyDelete
  25. No in TV now "Post-Mortem" means an interview with the creators and actors of a show about an episode that aired that had big moments, cliffhangers and stuff like that. They mostly give them in season premieres, mid-season finales and season finales.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ahhh okay makes sense. ABC has said that they love Bobbi/Lance on SHIELD so they don't want to ruin that by shipping them off to their own show, per this EW article http://www.ew.com/article/2015/05/12/agents-shield-spinoff. But they also said that the door is still open for them in the future so we'll see. Regarding that John Ridley show, I think ABC is much more interested in that than the spin off at the moment. Heck maybe even me too. I honestly wouldn't mind 4 Marvel ABC shows but I think for ABC, it would be overkill.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ok, I like Dalton beeing shady, but at the same time I am bumped. Still hope we get to see more of him next season.

    ReplyDelete
  28. “I think I’m somewhere. I think it transports me somewhere. We’ve had so many theories on set. ‘Maybe she can go back in time and kill Ward,’ or ‘Maybe she goes back in time and for whatever reason Fitz doesn’t know who she is and no one knows who she is,’ or ‘Maybe she goes invisible and no one can see her,’ or ‘What if she’s just trapped inside the rock?’ That would be terrible. There have been so many theories, but I think it’s a transportation device.

Ooo I like Elizabeth's theory of it transporting Simmons somewhere. Maybe off world?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yeah the super secret show seems very intriguing and I like that they didn't rush it, they seem to be developing it slowly which is fine with me.

Like you I would love 4 Marvel shows on ABC, I can't get enough of the MCU! But I do think another SHIELD type spy show may have been a little too much. Bobbi and Lance have great chemistry with the whole cast so I'm happy we will get that.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Pretty much the only thing these interviews hint at that I'm not excited for is more romantic Bobbi/Hunter. I love both characters, I'm glad they're both alive, and I'm glad they get to stay on this show with this team (for now at least), but I think their romance is the worst written part of their characters. I was really hoping we were heading towards them realizing they just don't work as a couple but will always care for each other and have each other's back, but the interviews make it sound like more romantic Bobbi/Hunter is on the way, whether it's in the form of angst and eventual reconciliation or something else. They're just way more interesting with other people than they are with each other. Oh well, that's a pretty minor complaint on a show like this. I'll try to have an open mind I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I am no Ward fan and it looked like he was gonna go full redemption but clearly not now.

What is Simmons going to come out as?

    ReplyDelete
  32. I feel like I accidentally stepped into the darkest timeline last night. None of that made any sense. Ah, yes, Ward totally turns to vengeance for the woman he was only with in an offscreen relationship with for a few weeks that nobody even wanted in the first place.

They turned two abuse victims into villains instead of breaking the cycle so congratulations there. John Garrett won.

May was out of character last week for blaming Kara for her brainwashing. Jemma murdered someone and never dealt with the trauma from the past year then oops she disappeared. They killed three WOC in a row.

Cal gets redeemed for some stupid reason while Ward doesn't for a twist that came out of nowhere. Yes, Grant "I was never loyal to Hydra only to Garrett" Douglas Ward is totally going to become the head of Hydra. That makes sense! Not.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I think that Simmons will have a message from the Kree or will have powers (to destroy the Inhumans) are the most likely options.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Cal and Jiaying were also two victims of Hydra. The way the show handled the hole situation with Ward as with Jiaying wasn't that good. The show portrayed both too much as pure villains instead of really showing why they did what they did.

    ReplyDelete
  35. That second option would be great. Also like her having a message from the Kree.

    ReplyDelete
  36. RememberSekhmet13 May 2015 at 13:50

I'll Netflix it to see Secret Warriors and what happens to Simmons. But I was watching live in hopes of a Ward redemption arc. We don't get one. Okay. I'll get my spy fix from AMC's Turn. Much of the Ward fandom were pumped and dumped. And dumping back.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Not every abused person that turns evil seeks redemption. Right now it's just not in Ward's cards.

    ReplyDelete
  38. RememberSekhmet13 May 2015 at 14:25

And it's not in my cards to continue to watch the show.

    ReplyDelete
  39. RememberSekhmet13 May 2015 at 14:27

Not worth live watching if that's the case

    ReplyDelete
  40. We just can be sure that she will come out of there, but i doubt she will be the same.

    ReplyDelete
  41. There still a possibilty they will take Ward the same route as Cal's. Although Cal went revenge mode for a much stronger reason while Ward is pissed he killed a girl he met for a few weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Maybe she will go spend the summer on the Kree's land? i wonder how long until they realize she is gone and the stone took her. They are talking about a time jump. Hopefull won't be a long one. Imagine them thinking they lost Jemma for good? Super cruel. She will go back but she mostly likely come back posessed or with a completly different personality. Maybe even as a weapon herself against inhumans.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Which happened completely off screen and no one even wanted in the first place! A+ show. A+.

I didn't even like Jiaying and she got screwed over so Cal could get his redemption arc which is so completely unfair.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Please Ward stop blaming everyone and take a good look at yourself in the miror, revenge for Kara?! I'm not even sure if he really loved her, he's been fooled by May and he can't accept it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. So cruel. God she come become a Kree weapon your right, Agents of ANGST strikes again. I wonder if time moves differently for Simmons, she may only be gone a few moments but it ends up months in the real world.

    ReplyDelete
  46. yeh, he seems to jist be there because hes a main character without them really trying to add him coherently to the story. It's really like he did not belong anywhere in the second half, just tact on after the fact.

While I never wanted him redeemed or rejoining the team, they mostly suck with him.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Thay said it was a weapon agains inhumans. I think it will be something like Venom, it will stick to her and that will change her and the etam will have to do everything to get that thing out of her.

    ReplyDelete
  48. There's a Ward fandom?

    ReplyDelete
  49. RememberSekhmet13 May 2015 at 16:07

Check the ratings. Yes there is.

    ReplyDelete
  50. How do you know that no one wanted this? Did you not want it. You are not everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I hope Fitz gets sucked in the stone as well and the get spit out merged. Fitzsimmons.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Isn't this title a little spoilery?

    ReplyDelete
  53. From all the anger I'm seeing on my timeline and Tumblr and everywhere else. Everyone got screwed over last night and no one made it out unscathed.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Isn't a Ward villain arc kind of great though? He's so deliciously bad. I'd rather lose viewers than see Ward back on the team though.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I would LOVE to get it sooner, but I just don't think it'll happen. The writers are so SLOW when it comes to FitzSimmons.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I love Marvel maturing, but I'm not a huge fan of dark shows. Daredevil and Ultron were fantastic, but I just don't want FitzSimmons to be where the heartache stems from. They can play up Coulson and the Cellist or something again....

    ReplyDelete
  57. RememberSekhmet13 May 2015 at 16:26

Viewers are what gives shows more seasons.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Historical_Materialist13 May 2015 at 16:29

Simmons emerging and speaking in a Scottish accent would be cool.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Agreed, but it's not like this show is rolling in viewers. Neither was Agent Carter.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Interesting. I hadn't heard of a Ward fandom, I only saw Klutzy Girl's comments about him on here. All I ever saw was how much more interesting Ward is when he's a bad guy, which is how I feel, he only works as a bad guy.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Could be. Too bad we will wait forever to know anything.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I understand all the standwithward and wardwarriors are mad today but you guys don't represent the whole fandom. You guys are just loud on social media. Mots people don't like Ward and are singing praise to the finale and the show now. That being said, I don't believe much on Ward's vilain potential. I would not be surprised if they make a sudden turn on him on season 3 when nobody will be expecting. You can't predict anything with those writers and especially with Ward's character. His revenge thing is such a weak plot point.

    ReplyDelete
  63. They teased his motives so badly and look what we got. One stupid motive, to heal. He didn't get now he wnat revenge against the people who had nothing to do with Kara's death. He really should look himself in the mirror.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Amen to that brother xd, but seriously, the writers really wants us to hate him.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Yeah I sorta figured that something was gonna happen with fitzsimmons. I mean the mood was too nice and hopeful for a show like AOS. But I thought it might be like Fitz dying on the mission or something. Besides that I found the whole Skye and Mac working together hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Not as spoilery as one would think, as I did before actually watching the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  67. They could pick up with the immediate reaction to her disappearance, with everyone racing to find/help her, and then jump to months later where only Fitz is still working on it 100%.

    ReplyDelete
  68. the whedfon's method xD.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Hey at this point I'm good with him being Hydra, can't see him coming back to Skye now.

    ReplyDelete
  70. To be honest I think that's confirmation biased, your position is well known. Therefore people that are on your timeline share your opinion, therefore "everyone mad", when in fact it's one group mad. I loved the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  71. It also fits for building up the potential Inhumans for Cap 3 to deal with.

    ReplyDelete
  72. That would be awesome, but it kind of sounds like they're going to skip that? I suppose nothing is set in stone (no pun intended) yet, but if they're shooting for a time jump, I'm expecting something like the Season 2 premiere. She'll just be gone, and we'll be lucky if we get a hint at what the aftermath is.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I still want them together but not until he earns her, she's the one who's gonna have to want him back.

    ReplyDelete
  74. To be honest at this stage she as a character would have to go so far dark to reach his level that it would ruin her as a character. Come on we've seen him kill, torture, manipulate...He's not a good guy at this stage.

    ReplyDelete
  75. This, I didn't want a handwaving redemption of Ward, particularly as NOTHING we've seen from him this season has for one second backed up a "redemption". Maybe KG and the other "StandByWard" should now accept that yeah he killed his family, he killed those US Government people, and the Air Force personnel.

By the way I laughed my ass of when they actually used the "Stand By Ward" comment by Kara...

    ReplyDelete
  76. Yeah I'm seeing a lot of happy fans across Tumblr and other places. It seems only sub secton of fans are unhappy.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yeah I know, it's my girly side who's taling lol.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Elizabeth seems to think the stone is going to spit her out somewhere else, almost like a transportation device. I'd be down with that, so long as she keeps her memory and personality!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I totally did too! (Regarding laughing at Stand with Ward.)

    ReplyDelete
  80. I'm mad about Simmons, but I enjoyed the rest of the episode. If Simmons isn't dead, or completely changed next season, I think I'll even be okay with this rock ordeal.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Agreed. A majority of that episode (save Simmons getting swallowed) was amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  82. That sounds too good to be true. She coming back as the normal jemma.

    ReplyDelete
  83. It does, but it's how I'm going to get through summer. Given the FitzSimmons luck so far, she'll probably be completely different and we'll wait until next May for resolution.

    ReplyDelete
  84. She has a habit of saying "we never wanted this" or "no one asked for this", as if she and the rest of the Stand With Ward cult is the entire AoS fandom, it's pretty funny.

    ReplyDelete
  85. It was classic when she said she'll stand with Ward "no matter what he does" because that's exactly the attitude of these people. He could kill infants in their beds and we'd still be hearing about how he's a poor abuse victim...

    ReplyDelete
  86. Oh, but don't you know? The Stand With Ward people on KG's timeline and Tumblr are the sum of the entire AoS fandom. All of those comments around here, on AoS' Facebook page and in other places saying it was an amazing finale were clearly written by plants from Marvel...

    ReplyDelete
  87. That's because you possess enough objectivity and common sense to realize that even if the episode did something you disliked with your favorite character/storyline, that doesn't make it a bad episode on the whole. Sadly, the Stand With Ward clan lacks that.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Bell did say that it won't take them long to realize something happened to Simmons, since she's on a boat and there aren't many places she could've gone.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Yeah, I prefer it when shows more or less stick to real time as it makes things less confusing.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Ward's fans are on a mad rampage today. They hate everything. Shocking!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Well, like I just told Justin, they can take comfort in the fact that they'll probably be seeing more of Ward in 3A than they did in 2B. He's no longer floating around with any clear storyline or purpose.

    ReplyDelete
  92. They will notice she is gone quickly and then see all their video feeds and actually see what happened. Imagine their big WTF faces.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I hope they feel like real morons for not bothering to lock up that Kree stone better. I mean, what happened to Simmons was approximately five minutes after Mack said that that thing shouldn't be let out at any point in the next thousand years. WTF? Great security measures, guys.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I'm actually laughing out loud. It's too true though. Definitely not something to quit the show over either! I've seen several of them so upset that they're ready to give it up, which is really not the answer here. If anything, he's getting a bigger and better story line. I just hope we can assume the same for Rock!Simmons

    ReplyDelete
  95. She's going to become a rock star.

    Yeah, that was bad... *hides*

    ReplyDelete
  96. So we're in the pay of Marvel... Interesting, I think I need to talk to them about my backpay.

    ReplyDelete
  97. It was funny, along with commenting on the Dog as well.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Yeah, you just knew something BAD was coming, but God I hated that. Other than that I thought it was just simply the best, much stronger than S1's finale and such a huge end for the Arc's we've seen this season.

    ReplyDelete
  99. yeah, Fitz cute accidently opened that when he awkwardly tried to invited her to dinner. That was mean, writers.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Which is understandable for them, but in no way is everyone pissed at this finale. I thought it was the high point of the Show so far.

    ReplyDelete
  101. The payoff was fantastic. I really was thrilled with the whole thing (and ecstatic for the brief period that Fitz and Simmons were reconciling) right up until the end. I've come 'round though. This could be fine, who knows. No sense fretting all summer.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Where do I sign up to be a Marvel plant? Can I get paid for that??

    ReplyDelete
  103. I'll file a class action suit with you. Alex can represent us!

    ReplyDelete
  104. Lololol. I wish.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Perfect! It's a cunning plan that even Baldrick would be proud of.

    ReplyDelete
  106. It's totally ok to not like some aspects of the finale or how they dealt with some of the storylines but when you hate everyhting there is something wrong. People loved the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Oh sure, Jiaying going so Dark could have done with maybe a few more build up clips either in flashback, or during the procedding episodes, but overall I loved it.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I know you expected some kind of redemption arc, but he was just too far. Theres no plausible redemption for him to be back at the team at some point. So, im glad the writers now are gonna full villain path with him, because if before there was no turning back for him, now its even more impossible lol We almost killez Bobbi, and tried to kill May (AGAIN). He will go fun on this hate for Shield and things will not end good for him.

A lot of people want him dead (Skye shot him four times, Simmons tried to kill him, May too, and Bobbi and Hunter will run for his blood after what he did).

    He is so screwed lol

    ReplyDelete
  109. I think theres a great chance that she will become some kind of host for that stone kree, and something against the Inhumans. One thing is certain: Simmons wont be the same.

    ReplyDelete
  110. have to admit the finale was much better than anticipated...jaw hit the floor with the Simmons scene..wth is that alien artifact?

    ReplyDelete
  111. Debbie Fourney13 May 2015 at 23:59

What happened to the armor man? I hope he is part of the team next season. And please don't let Fitz be gone. I so like that Fitz and Simmons was finally getting together. Also I hope Hunter comes back full power. I hope they all come back. Also for Ward he is going to be Hydro but I hope they show he has a weakness for Skye , like his aklis heal.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I'm interested in the comments regarding how others will deal with Skye having her own team. Is that coming from May, Mack, Fitz?

    ReplyDelete
  113. *The Stone spits her out and she is a completely blank slate with no memory (we know that the Kree can erase memories), possibly to then turn her into a 'weapon' against inhumans? [Added dramatic bonus: She has no idea who Fitz is. They were sooooo close and the writers can tease for the entire season is she'll eventually remember)

*Another thought I had: Beginning of season 2: Everyone thinks Jemma is there with Fitz and turns out to be just in his imagination. What if this time around he thinks she is gone and it is revealed that she is right next to him trying to somehow communicate to him that she's not dead.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Yeah I know and it's really too bad for him and I kindda miss the good Ward but I'm realistic he's a tough son of a b**** and I am mad at him so let's begin the horrible and torturing 5 months of hiatus.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Who do you mean by "the armor man"? Mack, the tall mechanic? If so, he's back in SHIELD and in charge of alien artifacts.

  116. Hey, you remembered that I took the bar exam! That's awesome. And yes, we are totally suing Marvel. BTW, I passed the written exam which is the tougher one, but I still have the oral exam coming up next week... fingers crossed. :)

  117. Yes exactly, you can't judge the entire 2 hours based on one or two aspects. I certainly had problems with some things (Jiaying being so freaking evil being the main one, and a few other things like Kara being Ward's motivation to go fully evil and the fact that Cal's transformation into Mr. Hyde was underwhelming) but I still absolutely loved it on the whole.

  118. It's always dubious when people claim that how the show treated a certain storyline or character is going to piss viewers off and make the ratings tumble. Online fans are very loud and passionate but like 98% of them don't affect the live ratings at all, considering that many of them aren't American, and even among the Americans a very large portion doesn't have a Nielsen box (or does, but only DVR's the show).

I'm sure a lot of Stand With Ward fans are angry right now, but I hardly think it's going to make a dent in the ratings next year considering how divisive his character is. To negatively affect the ratings, the show has to write off or ruin a character who is unquestionably a HUGE fan favorite, to the point where it's clear that even the Nielsen audience feels that way and will tune out.

I was speaking about the black man that was captured by Hydra the same time as the young man that shoots electricity. He was saved, I don't remember if the other man was saved.

  123. Oh, right, so sparky42 who replied to me was right.

The guy you're referring to is Mike Peterson/Deathlok, the cyborg. He was saved from Hydra too but was pretty badly hurt, so he was sent off to a medical facility to be treated. That has been the last we've seen him so far.

  124. My husband is wondering if the stone could be inspired by Warlock from the New Mutants (not Adam Warlock!) [shape shifting ability, sentient, alien, metal-look with geometric patterns, can 'infect' others and change them...]. Don't know enough about New Mutants and problems from bringing things into AoS, but thought there were some interesting a points. Anyone else has any thoughts on this?
