Thanks to Sonnye for the heads up.

Have you heard any hints about possible crossover between Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Mavel’s Netflix programs? Is that something that you’d like to see, or do you think that the very different tones between the ABC programs and what we’ve seen in Daredevil makes them better left in their own worlds?

You know, I’m loving watching Daredevil. I can’t wait to see Jessica Jones. Luke Cage was a favorite of mine when I was a kid. I’m thrilled to see what they’re doing on Netflix. Our show is in a very different world that has its own special place, but the great thing about this world is, I you thought you were going to be able to put Thor on the same screen with Tony Stark and Natasha Romanoff and really have it feel like the same thing. The short answer is I never say never anymore, because once you’ve got the talking raccoon with a machine gun you’ve proven that you can do anything.

Age of Ultron was the finale of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 2, and opens the door on Phase 3. How do you see the role of S.H.I.E.L.D. as an organization, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.as a show, changing as we begin moving towards Infinity War?

If you’ve ever read any of the Civil War comics, you’ll know that S.H.I.E.L.D. is very much part of a group that’s trying to register the superheroes, and that really divides and forces some S.H.I.E.L.D. agents – especially those with connections to people who have powers that can feel personal – to really decide which side of that conflict they’re on. Iron Man and Cap end up on, in the comics anyway, on opposite sides of it. There’s always changes in the way they do that in the cinematic universe. I think, with the S.H.I.E.L.D. 2.0, you’re seeing some of the first ripples of that different points of view on what S.H.I.E.L.D. should be when it’s rebuilt. I’m very, very curious to know which side Coulson will end up on in that struggle.

  1. I am terrified of what they're going to do next. I can't handle this emotional trauma anymore.

  2. And here we go..if season 2 was a emotional roller coaster to the very begging, now imagine season 3 with all the Civil War coming..good luck to all of us..also, i love this show so much it hurts!!

So a war is trigger that could have been avoided! Skye turning against his adaptive parent in Coulson and May siding her with biological mom who may really be the villain?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Wow... I just... I don't even have proper words...
I feel really bad for Skye though, like Coulson says, she's in the middle of a huge war.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I expected her to go with Afterlife/inhumans, I wanted her to choose them because she knew so little about her heritage and want her to learn more about it. However, I didn't expect SHIELD bridges to be burnt.

  6. SKYE WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMN IT WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THAT BITCH JIAYING?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. right, this season led us to the introduction of Inhumans, DEFINITELY next season is Civil War

    ReplyDelete
  8. you know what i'm horrified about? would the same thing have happened if Coulson was there instead of Gonzales? and would Skye have believed it?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Civil War is coming.

Looks like Alisha's powers is that she can duplicate herself! Very cool. Skye quaking May :( My poor heart. Bring on the emotionally destroying finale.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'm inclined to think Jiaying would of made the same decision. Skye probably would have more to say, if it was Coulson who died, but I doubt Jiaying will be able to keep that secret, given the circumstances. But she barely knew Gonzales, even though the overall picture forhim wasn't good. Some of Gonzales better qualities were displayed this episode, I still think he would of done the same as Jiaying, he simply didn't get the chance.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I don't mind it much about May, she's a bit annoying lateltly, even though I get where she's coming from. But given where next season is headed, May is probably there for good.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Justin Valdes6 May 2015 at 04:00

I don't necessarily think she's been annoying lately, just confused on who exactly she can trust because everyone has been keeping secrets from her. And oh yeah, she's not going anywhere.

  14. Greice Moreira6 May 2015 at 04:01

The war which couldn't be avoided by Shield's own policy. This index thing needs to go but it won't until Civil War. Jiaying was alive during WWII, did anyone really expected her to accept her people to be branded like what happened during the Nazzi regime? How is the index any different from a golden star? But the show of course will portray Jiaying as the villain and Shield as the good guys who can't do any wrong and don't see how their mistakes bring the horrors they blame on others. Seriously... depending on how the series finale go, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'll just stop watching this. I have defended this show from day one but I was super eager for the Inhumans movies and I just don't want to have my experience watching the movie tainted by how the show portrays them.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I don't think Jiaying is a bad person, she's just protecting her family.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Greice Moreira6 May 2015 at 04:03

Yes, she's a good person and a great leader, but she's a complex character and the simple minded will just see her as the villain for good guys Shield and this just pisses me off.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Incoming emotional destruction, then a massive hiatus to reinforce it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think Jiaying went too quickly from enlightened peaceful leader to lets wage war on Shield. The Shield she met in this episode had not done anything to warrant her reaction. She lacks trust and has now entered her people into a battle that will cost many lives. Not such a great leader after all.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I don't think she's a villain exactly. She's just a little skittish around organisations that want to tag her and put her on a list or maybe even try to control her or experiment on her. It's a pretty reasonable response for someone who has been dissected. That's the one point were Shield and Hydra are most similar, there wanting to control and dominate people and objects they don't understand. It's all a bit Nazi-ish if you ask me.

    ReplyDelete
  20. May had it coming; she's been a pain in the arse recently. Her being so indignant about Coulson keeping secrets from her is so hypocritical.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Awesome episode. The twist than I expected was all about Ward and Kara, and I know it than she had something to do with Bobbi. All about Jiaying was great, I think that is the only option that she could to take, go to war, but I never expected than the writers made that call. Like she said, she have had decades to remember what Whitehall did to her, I just hope she doesn't die in the end. This is what I like about this show, every character has a dark side, and that is why you can never know what to expect. Everything is a mess, to the end all we'll gonna need a session with Andrew, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Did anyone notice how when may said to Skye "I hope your mothers everything you wanted her to be" that may seemed a little sad.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Do you guys think Jiaying is going to die? Or do you think she and the inhumans will be back for season 3? (i'm hoping she doesn't die, she is such an interesting character)

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm not sure why, but somehow seeing Coulson, Simmons, and Fitz shoot with Icers (I believe) in the promo is mildly reassuring to me.

I'm so excited, nervous, nauseas for next Tuesday, and only about 50% of that is because I'll be defending my dissertation in the morning.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I am tired of all the betrayals. Really, really tired. And slightly bored. It has become ridiculous. Skye betrayed the team, Miles betrayed Skye, Garrett betrayed SHIELD, Ward betrayed SHIELD/the team/HYDRA, May betrayed Coulson, Bobbi betrayed Hunter/the team/Kara, Mack betrayed Coulson/Hunter, Raina betrayed everyone, Real SHIELD betrayed SHIELD, Coulson betrayed/kept secrets May, Jiaying betrayed Skye/SHIELD, Ward/Kara betrayed Coulson/SHIELD/Bobbie, and and and. At this point, it would be surprising and SHOCKING if someone is just exactly who they say they are.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Both Want to destroy one another sounds legit, Shield Started first. Jiaying reacted on history and experience again sounds legit to me.

Let it all play out. I'm On Skye's side hope she chooses her own side. And also looking forward to what Ward has in plans hope its long term.

    ReplyDelete
  27. For centuries they were at peace and not Shield knows their location and first thing they want to do is come and negotiate, negotiate what?
SHIELD as normal humans who want to protect the normal do a lot of preventive measures to keep themselves safe like anti powered people weapons and such, can't the Inhumans do the same preventive with their crystal.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I like the way you think! +

    ReplyDelete
  29. when you keeping secrets its OK then when others are it not OK, yea she is annoying. Knowing her own history she should have known Coulson would of had a reason. like she did in the beginning.

hard to choose a side when your not sure who is lieing

  31. Stephen S. Bowman6 May 2015 at 06:27

not suprised she try to make skye see her point of view and she got what she wanted skye turning against shield

    ReplyDelete
  32. I knew it, Jiyaing can't be trusted, but Skye come on trying to fight May, SERIOUSLY?! Gosh I can't believe this is happening.

    ReplyDelete
  33. But that's the thing, SHIELD isn't coming out smelling of roses. They keep repeating the same mistakes of the past without Hydra's all out evil mandate. Thinking they are right in indexing is not the same as being right. They think they are doing the right thing but they are not. I'm sure what was meant as a safety precaution against individuals here and there that had enhanced powers that were often used negatively was commendable in the beginning, but now it isn't. It's evolving into something sinister and SHIELD is being ignorant of this. Inhumans aren't animals to be tagged and monitored and now there's a possibility the index will be used to persecute people because they are different, something that has nothing to do with keeping people safe.

    ReplyDelete
  34. As long as she can heal herself like she did after Whitehall stripped her body parts and Cal pieced her together, I think she will be okay, eventually.

    If May dies I'm out...

    ReplyDelete
  36. Holy cow... this is going to be insaaaaane!

    ReplyDelete
  37. It's predictable that Skye will learn what Jiaying did and will choose SHIELD at the en. But I won't be surprised if the conflict with the Inhumans will be the main theme of the first half of S3.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Gaia Di Lorenzo6 May 2015 at 11:22

Philinda might not go back the way they were so sad

    ReplyDelete
  39. RevengerNikki6 May 2015 at 11:33

I so agree. Like the first thing SHIELD (Gonzolas) did the first time he came in contact with the Inhumans was "how will we attack". Like dude they went to see if the rock was there which can kill them all. Thats a preventative measure right there. Coulson said it in the episode that "the index" is the very minimum treatment to the Inhuman's. What else would they have done? Imprisoned them, hunted them, killed them, make them their own person Avengers Initiative like team like Coulson said in 2x17 or experiment on them because they find certain powers useful.

    ReplyDelete
  40. RevengerNikki6 May 2015 at 11:37

thank you. like what happened to her.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I think will be the theme during all season 3. Civil war is at the end of the season. Not sure Skye will coose SHIELD. With all the conflits going down at the finale SHIELD might not be the best place for her.

    ReplyDelete
  42. This is what i want. Skye on her own side. As much as a love the team if after everything she ends the season with Shield i would be a little disappointed. It's not like the Shield vs inhuamns will resolve at the finale. Skye needs to be on her own for awhile.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I really hope she doesn't but you can never be sure with this show. The inhumans will definelty be back next season. Not all of them who are on the show now. Some will die on this "war" but they just got started with the inhumans on the MCU.

    ReplyDelete
  44. What she did wasn't right but there was no negotiation there. Shield found their location. They fear them and have their damn protocols. They would not accept any other outcome other than putting all of them on the index and monitoring them. Jiaying just wanted to be left alone so this "war" was going to happen either way. I'm not even counting the fact Shield has a weapon that can wipe all the inhumans out. Nothing good would come out of this sit down.

    ReplyDelete
  45. And that would lead her directly to Ward, especially should he really become Hellfire.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Exactly. Shield isn't the good guys and inhumans the bad. They both have their rights and wrongs. The meeting would end badly no matter what. The writers just choose to make the way they did. Which put inhumans on the bad light and Shield as always the good one.

    ReplyDelete
  47. If they kill her i will be pissed. destroying an interesting character just for the sake of Shield being good guys fighting the bad guys storyline. Her character and the inhumans deserve better than that.

    ReplyDelete
  48. This is why she needs to be on her own side for awhile. Both side are doing wrong and this will just hurt her more and more.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Stephen S. Bowman6 May 2015 at 12:54

agree but i cannot tell if that is where they are going

    ReplyDelete
  50. This is what i would like to see. Unfortunatly, I'm not expecting especially after how they choose to start the war. It was basically, here is the reason she will choose Shield.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Ugh, please god no. I would be disapointed if she chooses Shield but she end up with ward would be worse. That being said, is a possible outcome. We are supposed to know what his motivations are after the finale and i think he will end up being an inhuman and inhumans will be using those crystals as weapons. He could easily be caught in the middle and would be revealed he is one too with fire powers.

    ReplyDelete
  52. The finale will be too intense to handle. We can see Cal will go nuts and attack Coulson, Fitz and Simmons. Skye will be stuck in the middle of the war. She will obviously find out what Jiaying did and will go against the inhumans, but i hope she won't end up with Shield either. They are both doing wrongs and I expect her to be totally broken emotionally after the finale so siding with any of them won't resolve anything. We know Bobbi will be fine not sure we can say the same thing about Kara. This revenge thing won't end well for her. Inhumans will go full attack on the ship/ kree stone.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Greice Moreira6 May 2015 at 14:13

I agree 100% with you. I'm totally on Jiaying side and understand her decision. For me they are more like the heroes of the story right now than Shield.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I'm not calling them heroes but they aren't villains either, same as SHIELD.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Yeah, I wanted a bit more moral ambiguity instead of something so black and white. Then again, the rest of the Inhumans are being manipulated and are not the bad guys, so maybe we'll see some moral ambiguity after all.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Stephen S. Bowman6 May 2015 at 14:39

although the when skye finds out all hell will break loose

    ReplyDelete
  57. I think she will choose to be on her own for a while and that getting her trust back on SHIELD and/or inhumans will be a big part of season 3.

    ReplyDelete
  58. This would be the best outcome for her after this mess. At least short term. She doesn't know who she is anymore she said herself. Her relationship with Coulson and May will be too shaken up. I can't wait for her to use Daisy Johnson as code name.

    ReplyDelete
  59. When Skye will really stay between SHIELD and the Inhumans and Ward too, I think it is inevitable that they will cross their path. It would fit with what Raina said to Ward, that he and Skye could be Monsters together if the world change. And with Lincoln and Kara in the game it could be an interesting story arc.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I have a crazy theory: What if Jiyaing decide to tell the thruth to Skye and because of her actions Skye decides to kill her (maybe that's the confrontation is all about)?

    ReplyDelete
  61. As long as Jiaying won't use weapons of mass destruction I highly doubt it.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Well I only said that because even if Skye had some differences with SHIELD lately, she'd never let Coulson down "SHIELD must be destroy" that's so Hydra.

    ReplyDelete
  63. My personal opinion is that she needs to leave alone be away from SHIELD, inhumans and Ward too. He would not be healthy for her either but this show is full of foreshadowing and unfortunatly skyeward is a big one. I have no doubt they will end up together at some point but i seriously prefer is not at the end of the season. Would be such a UGH moment for me. A lot will have to happen for me to accept those two pairing up again as logical.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Yeah, there is a new sneak peek at the video from Lexus that shows what happens after the last scene from Scars

    ReplyDelete
  65. Yeah I think you're right, that's gonna hurt and so bad.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Really? I didn't see it. Could you send me the link please?

    ReplyDelete
  67. But why is she going all batshit crazy against Shield if she played it cool with Hydra for years and Hydra tortured her. Shouldnt she be going after Hydra (they were the ones who started tracking Gordon after all).

    ReplyDelete
  68. It doesn't matter who started the tracking. SHIELD is the one knocking on her door wanting to tag them. If it was Hydra her reaction would be the same. Their society is all about secrecy and be left alone. SHIELD is going to let her do that anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  69. The video is region locked so i can't see.

    ReplyDelete
  70. It´s the sneak peek than was just posted

    ReplyDelete
  71. But thinking about that, maybe Skye's power is the only one than can kill to Jiaying

    ReplyDelete
  72. Well in AOS everything is possible, we've seen that.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Thanks. They are on high speed releasing materials this week. Its probably because is 2 episodes instead of one but damn.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Yeah, what she did is clearly wrong but under these circumstances, it's understandable. While Gonzales wasn't an immediate threat to her when she killed him, putting the Inhumans on the index would clearly be a huge threat to their existence. They'd be at SHIELD's mercy, essentially. Does that prospect excuse murder? Well, no... but given what Jiaying has been through at Whitehall's hands (and especially considering that SHIELD and Hydra aren't so clearly separate, given how recent the events of Winter Soldier are), I get her course of action. She's hell-bent on making sure that none of her people, especially her daughter, will ever endure what she did.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I have to be honest, *I'm* annoyed with May and she's my favorite character. I didn't like it one bit when she betrayed Simmons' trust by going to Bobbi about the fact that FitzSimmons switched the boxes.

As for the stuff with Coulson - I honestly don't understand what May's problem is. Intelligence agencies are obviously going to operate on a need-to-know basis. Of course Coulson isn't going to tell everyone - even his second-in-command - every single thing. Do I understand why he kept the Theta Protocol from May? No, not really, but that's his prerogative as Director. Jed and Mo claim that the reason she's upset is because he didn't tell her about his meetings with Andrew, but honestly - what's the fact that Andrew is May's ex have to do with anything? These meetings were totally unrelated to May and Andrew's marriage. Andrew is simply one of the only psychiatrists Coulson could possibly go to, with problems like his. I'm not seeing the big breach of trust, here.

It frustrates me because even after May lied to Coulson about spying on him for Fury last season, it was clear how much she cared about him. Philinda was always one of the pillars of the show, such a strong and rock-solid friendship, and the writers are ruining it for no good reason. :(

    ReplyDelete
  76. In the comics she can beat Wolverine, so it is possible.

    ReplyDelete
  77. This. What matters to Jiaying isn't which organization is more evil, it's which one is the current threat to her people. That's SHIELD, not Hydra. (Although I think that to the outside world, the difference between the two isn't so clear, and that's part of why Jiaying - having been tortured by Hydra in such a horrifying manner - doesn't remotely trust SHIELD.)

    ReplyDelete
  78. Also, remember that they were not going to negotiate, they also go to index the Inhumans, that is why than Jemma travels with them

    ReplyDelete
  79. I don't think that Skye want anyone hurt. Maybe she will stop Jiaying if she would do something really stupid, but not kill her.

    ReplyDelete
  80. That's so messed up and we didnt see the episodes yet.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Maybe it would be for her best, but her chosen family from SHIELD and her real family from the Inhumans is all she have and everything she searched for. If she lost that, her hole life would be in ruins.

    ReplyDelete
  82. It is messed up and I doubt it will be any better the hole next season as "Civil War" will come at the end of S3! At the end Skye might be the one, who will be hurt the most!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Yeah definitely, poor Skye seriously, the writers heven't done making her suffer (well don't know if I'm too hard on them).

    ReplyDelete
  84. You aren't the only that's sick of the reusing the same plot over and over for 2 seasons now.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Glad to hear that!

    ReplyDelete
  86. There are more than a few of us. I mean I get that it's a Spy show but the plot has just been done to death. I hope next season is just them rebuilding the relationships while dealing with the Inhumans (though I have the sad thought that Skye is going to get screwed at some point with the Civil War Arc coming)

    ReplyDelete
  87. You forgot the intrusion of Gordon inside SHIELD careers led to the finding of the location of Afterlife. Another question is how SHIELD know that Kree stone is a weapon against inhumans where they barely know the existence?

HYDRA did the heavy lifting having figuration Gordon signature and would definitely invade Afterlife.

Take also account of Raina vision proven accurate.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Often forgotten is the village massacre of the first SHIELD team with the lead agent protecting Skye.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Daisy Johnson is Skye real name.

    ReplyDelete
  90. RevengerNikki8 May 2015 at 14:07

How do you know they were protecting Skye? What if the agent lied to protect his own skin it explains too, why he was so dire that he must be kept secret. He also never mentioned that the people they took Skye from was her parents. What if they took Skye and Jiaying and Cal were just trying to get her back. Why would they destroy an entire village, where they lived? That makes no sense, by all accounts by that time Cal had not gone crazy and Jiaying had not been experimented on yet.
It seems that Skye was taken first then Jiaying, maybe because of the news of the massacre got their attention.

We have no idea what happened, we only got one account. We know by now that agents have lied about missions. May lied about what happened in Bahrain with the little girl and the HYDRA agents ( + Ward/ Garrett) definitely lied about their missions. Meaning agents lying has been prone to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  91. All this infighting has gone to far. They don´t have time for anything else because every week they have to deal with yet another betrayal. I mean have they run out of villians? Are there no more real bad guys?

Maybe I am just too old school, but I like a real enemy from time to time. Someone you is just "black" and not "gray-ish". Someone who unites the good guys even if they have bad, complicated histories.

I really enjoyed episode 9x19 because for that one episode they left all that crap (mostly) behind and focused on the real threat. But now, Hydra is gone and SPOILER ------------------ Jayling betrayed and lied to Skye (new sneak peek). he actually tries to manipulate her own daughter to go to WAR with her... What kind of mother is she? ...sigh....

So, you are right. Skye is screwed. Real SHIELD tried to kill her, SHIELD treats her very differently almost hostile, her mother manipulates her and the Inhumans want to use her. Shockingly, and I can´t believe I am saying this, but at this point, Ward is probably the one who she could have trusted most. I mean he IS a son of a bitch but I belief he really loved Skye and woud not have judged ore used her for who she is now.

Sadly, I can´t see any of this to change soon. Not with the civil war coming... I mean, the definition of civil war is brother fightling brother...

    ReplyDelete
  92. Thank you! Jiaying agreed to a sit down, not an unconditional surrender. And here comes Gonzales into her HOME and doesn't even pretend to talk terms, just lays down the law for her.

I can see anyone who's been through what she's been through just cracking at that.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I don't know if I could see a crossover with the Netflix shows... it might be interesting though.
