KARAKURT

Following Red's intel (James Spader), the FBI find themselves one-step behind the most dangerous Russian Assassin, Karakurt, an enemy on U.S. soil. To avoid catastrophe, Liz (Megan Boone) and Ressler meet with Russian Counter-Intelligence who offer insight not only on Karakurt, but also on the identity of Liz's mother. Cooper (Harry Lennix) finds himself in a compromising position.

Finally some answers about bio-mom. A russian spy? a shady person who died in weakness and shame? the woman in Red's/family's apartment photo with lil Liz? The director knows who she is, Tom knows, Red knows, hell i think the cat knows...everyone knows about Masha/Liz except Liz. it is about time....

  2. I second that...it is about time answers are given!

is there no chance that Red is Lizzy's father?

    1. Red back in 1x22..
    2. Red saw a picture in season 2... a little girl (could be Lizzy?)

    ReplyDelete
  4. Maybe that was why Navabi had the torture kit out - to extract intel from the cat.

  5. The is a very good chance he is her father. 1. When he warned Lizzy not to continue with Tom, he said he knew what it was to be drawn to something that was bad for you. (In my theory, Liz' mom). 2. In the dream sequence, it seems like the woman is "bad news" and the man got mixed up in it. (the fulcrum). 3. Naomi Hyland told Liz, he (Red) is very good at making you feel like the only woman in the world. (This made me feel like he possibly had an affair and/or another life (Lizzie's mom). 4. Lastly, he has apparently zero interest in his own supposed daughter "Jennifer" and has tons of interest in Liz, beyond that of the fulcrum.

  6. Um.. Then why don't they just do a DNA test????

    ReplyDelete
  7. The question everyone has been asking for 2 seasons - except one Blacklister's speciality ( last year) was changing people's DNA

    ReplyDelete
  8. That Jennifer business was odd in that nobody seemed to care that she was gone.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Never underestimate Navabi( or Mr. Kaplan) .

    ReplyDelete
  10. I really think that Mr. Kaplan is one of my FAV characters on the show. Every scene she is in is spectacular. (just my opinion) :)

  11. Blacklist is full of plot holes. I am actually sure they did when he first signed on. But, Red is 1000 times smarter, and 20 steps ahead of the FBI. Switching/changing results is child's play to him. ;)

  12. When he knew he would be turning himself in, he thought of all these scenarios and tests. He had gone to great lengths to hid his true identity where Liz is concerned. No way he wasn't/isn't prepared for the ol' DNA test.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Exactly. That's the out for the DNA test. I almost wish that Red was Tom's father rather than Liz's. It would be a good twist and would keep Tom on show.

    'Jenifer' was Berlin's daughter

    ReplyDelete
  15. Assuming Jolene was Jennifer based on search leading Red to Jolene but hot sure why that would not guarantee Tom will be killed. Makes since to kill him for that one but no action as of yet. Finding Jolene's identity Red's big favor and she is killed on Ballet episode just as Red is calling her in for a sit down. The fact that he knows she is dead would make most men go berzerk but at time she worked for Berlin.

    ReplyDelete
  16. No Jennifer was Jolene, Berlin's daughter was the other assassin not the handler and Red introduce Berlin to his daughter. Tom killed Red's daughter when cowboy tried to capture her. That was when Red sicked the police on Tom.

    ReplyDelete
  17. It is doubtful Red is Liz's father but likely he is her body guard or perhaps relative. It is possible from the brand on Liz's hand that she is a child of someone powerful kidnapped and help by people pretending to be her parents then rescued and hidden from the kidnappers and protected for the real parents until such time as she could claim her power. Would not surprise me if a story on the fulcrum is about her family and what happened to them. Her name implies she could be Russian royalty.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Nail clipping Israeli style, first we remove the fingers then the nails.

    ReplyDelete
  19. You never know as her bio mom may still be alive. One thing is for sure she is Russian but not sure if she took the fulcrum or the father. Imagine her in Bali hiding out for now.

    ReplyDelete
  20. No. She is the daughter referred to by the wife. We assumed he was searching for her when he had Glenn find 'the girl,' but it was Berlin's daughter... I believe they referred to her as Zoe.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I agree! Every scene she is in is one you remember. I sit up straight whenever she appears.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I do not think so because the character of "Jennifer" would be too big to throw away without more drama attached to her story. And her mother told Red Jennifer wanted to stay as far away from Red and his world as possible. They will save her story for down the line - especially if it somehow turns out she is related to Lizzie( which we do not know yet).

    sorry, my bad.

I am waiting this sentence from the beginning.

Red: 'Lizzy... I am your father.' :D

Finally some movement on the parentage front.

My prediction is that Red is Lizzie's father and he had to protect her because her mother is an even BIGGER baddie! I think the reveal will be coming soon that Red is Liz's dad. I think Red was really torn up about the Tom situation, as he really wanted to protect Liz, however Tom went rogue and did his own thing. The Tom and Liz relationship in some way was most likely like Red's and Liz's mothers....

Why would Red go to such lengths unless he was Liz's dad?

My feeling is is that Liz's mom must be a super spy and Red has been hiding Liz in order to protect her.

    ReplyDelete
  25. When Red gets his one favor he uses it to look up Lucy Brooks Aka Julie Aka Jolene who coincidentally comes in town and tries to Handle Tom into bed and into killing Lizzie which Tom tell her is not his assignment. She identifies herself as working for Berlin but that is neither here nor there. Red identifies her as someone who tried to fake her own death once and says it was worth the favor he could have used to find anyone he wanted. At the same time Red is planning Swan Lake in honor of his long estranged, presumed dead or taken away daughter Jennifer. He tell the Cowboy it is time to bring Jolene to Red. Cowboy tries and Tom kills them both. Red makes it his job to find Jolene and dig up her body but not do anything more than report her missing so the police will find the body and Jolene will have a proper burial. Meanwhile the police will question Tom and Lizzie to let Lizzie know Tom is not who she thinks Tom is. The thought is that in December when Fitch came in an took Zoe and the house Lizzie lived in was burned down and she disappeared the FBI came in and Jennifer soon left/disappeared. Red found Zoe and returned her to Berlin but Zoe wanted to leave and as for Lizzie she is still being looked after by Red but Jennifer has not been mentioned since Jolene was killed and Berlin learns that Fitch was playing games with people. Berlin thought Zoe was Jennifer. There where suspicions that Red was using Jolene to get Tom out of Liz's life after the failed Gina Zanetakos story that Gina was Tom's lover, a story tom denied but there were pictures of Tom in Gina's room in a go box along with evidence they worked together in Boston on the Fokin kill. The question remains why would Raymond go to such extremes to get Jolene's identity and then Jolene target Liz, not just try and break up the relationship but tell Tom he needs to kill Liz. Remember she is supposedly sent by Berlin but Berlin thinks Zoe is Red's Daughter, Berlin has no idea who Liz is. No way red targets Liz and no way Berlin does either but a ticked off could be half sister jealous of the fact Red left his family behind for Liz might just want Liz dead. Give it a thought.

    ReplyDelete
  26. One huge hole in your theory - Red knows Tom killed Jolene - Tom would be double dead by now ( at Red's own hand) if your theory was correct. And as I said - the show runners would not have wasted such an important person as "Jennifer" - a potentially large storyline- on a minor character who was killed off. Would have been a monstrous waste of story power.

    ReplyDelete
  27. No... Red was there when they uncovered the bodies of Jolene and the cowboy. He had zero emotional reaction, barely even anger. There is zero chance Jolene was Jennifer.

I hope that she is alive, just for answers and her connection to Red. Will give us some well needed answers by now and denigrate one question most fans are still struggling with...#1 Are they related #2 Does Red lie to Liz or not..

21st century and the alchemist who never met Red [or there must be a Red double death somewhere]...worked on people who were about to be dead, not living, breathing, gunned down ones. Trust me they can answer it in 30 sec, they just choose not 2. And if Lizzie really wants to know, she would swap the inside of his cheek and hand deliver it herself ...No the only stupid thing is that Jon Bokenkamp/John Eisendrath said that she doesn't want to know because what would it mean if she was sprung from the devil's seed? which is ridiculous because her sole purpose is finding out about her past and their connection. - it is ridiculous. Even the Director knows who she is...if they just kidnap Lizzie..Red/Tom and the FBI will come running.

    ReplyDelete
  30. No hole. You watched the last episode and Red explained why he did not kill Tom. Liz cares for Tom too much. Also the Berlin thing was still active at that point. I thought I explained that but you seem to miss the fact that vendettas can wait for years. Tom should be a dead man walking but so long as Lizzie wants him alive Tom lives. Think Fredo on the Godfather... the mother dies he is killed. Red has waited 25 years to do what he is doing what says he can not wait two more years to kill Tom if possible.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Berlin couldn't think anything about Zoe and Red because Red haven't find Zoe yet.
Though I don't believe Berlin originally assumed Liz to be Reddington's daughter or that he gave order to kill her. I think it was another test by Joline.

    ReplyDelete
  32. When did you ever see Red show emotion/ He killed Sam and then calmly threatened Tom minute later. He was tortured for hours and near death and calmly killed his torturer. He is not going to squirt tears over a daughter who faked her death and changed her identity to hide from him. He will make sure she is properly buried and in time her death avenged but then again if Fitch had any thing to do with her moving on that death has in many ways already been avenged. Remember Red told Milos "Fitch was his." he never explained why but no Decemberist no missing girls, no fire, nothing. Sure Tom killed Jolene but why really was Jolene there? Why wasn't she a ballerina dancing Swan lake? But you keep thinking your way and one day in two years when Red kills Tom, the way he most likely killed Tom's family, yet another reason for his delay, but jaws will drop as it comes out of no where.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Let's take the counter argument that Berlin did sent Jolene and that she was the daughter of whom he spoke not anyone else Red had time to find her and get to know her but that did not happen. Either way the implication is that Jolene is Jennifer and at some point Tom will have to pay for it the way Fitch already did. Red simply wants to pick the day they die.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh, I know the premise is ludicrous - it is like the elephant in the room. But I just was trying to figure out what the show runners would use to get around the obvious. The supposedly biggest mystery is akin to swiss cheese. But, hey, this is The Blacklist, all please check your rational thoughts at the door before viewing.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Sorry... I do not agree. Red shows plenty of emotion.

    ReplyDelete
  36. No what... Zoe was Berlin's daughter.

  37. No way Red is her father. And I think Red had a daughter of his own, didn't he?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Three girls all being raised by people other than their parents Zoe, Jennifer and Masha. Jennifer the mother had no idea where her daughter was. Red knew where masha has been but he had no idea Zoe was even an issue but what of jennifer. The only one Red looks for is Jolene and in she comes to try and mess with Liz. You are all wrong but there is no arguing with people who will not accept the possible.

What the Alchemist did was not "changing people's DNA," it was evidence tampering. He placed evidence at crimes scenes (the victim's blood replaced by blood taken from the person trying to disappear), grinding teeth, etc. Presumably a properly managed lab – like the FBI Lab – being aware of such techniques, would guard against them. The Blacklist has stuck to scientific realism very admirably, but this episode confused a lot of people. No one's DNA was changed.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I don't really believe Red changed his DNA. If they did a DNA test, I presume he just had someone on the inside that falsified the results or switched the samples.
