  1. Oh God, that hurt so bad. Poor May. And she wanted a baby and everything (headcanon that Coulson has super sperm after Tahiti and they have a miracle baby).

Jiaying and Cal and Lincoln are all still shady and I don't trust them. But yay Raina!

And aww at Fitz at the end.

  2. I assume, they'll never tell us how the electric hand dryer will actually help Fitz to get out... That's gonna annoy me (but it's also kinda hilarious)

  3. "I was too afraid to hope" - Skye, my girl, I'm crying there with you :(
Melinda May, that was such a tragedy. She was sooooo happy with Andrew! And they conected it with Inhumans!
BUT RAINA IS THE REAL CLARVOYANT! THIS SHOW!
And that reunion was so nice and so sad at the same time...

You're going to give fanfiction writers ideas.

  5. Too late. We've already written fics like these several times (myself included).

  6. I wish I could say that surprises me, but I've read and written much weirder things.

  7. Looking forward to next week after this strong episode setting things up. Anyone else find that dinner at the end creepy....something is not right ( other than nutso Cal). Poor May had her life changed in one second. The actress playing Raina has signed on with another show so I wonder if she will be gone soon.

  8. LOVED this episode so much. It was emotional as hell which made for some fantastic television.

Ming-Na Wen was such a BAMF all around this episode. This was her time to shine and she did it flawlessly. The flashbacks showing how exactly she became known as the infamous Calvary was perfect executed. My heart broke for her when she had to do the unthinkable and shoot Katya (damn, was that girl creepy as hell!). And it hurts even more to realize that her and Andrew were trying so hard to conceive a baby and then when May goes on the mission in Bahrain, she had to do what was necessary to save herself and kill the little kid. Now we can understand why she's this rigid and withdrawn person she is today after the hell she went through. Powerful stuff.

Jiaying telling Skye that she is her mother made me gasp so damn loudly. I wasn't expecting her to tell Skye so soon! But it was also another emotional scene. Finally Skye now knows that her mother has been alive all this time. But did anyone else find that dinner scene with Jiaying and Cal creepy? I don't know but there has got to be something more than what is letting on here (there always is with this show). I LOL'ed so hard when Skye said "I'm 26? That's so messed up!" XD

We have come full circle with Raina. In the beginning of the show, she was all about worshipping this Clairvoyant and following every order from them and now it looks like she's a Clairvoyant as well! See, Raina? You have more than just a thorny face and claws. You also have a superpower! Which I think is a very cool one.

Fitz being all "Can I hang out with you guys" at the end was adorable as hell. Of course you can meet up with Coulson and Lance! God, I can't wait to see them all team up next week (including Grant and Kara).

did it almost feel like they were trying to brainwash skye in a way so she would not go back ?

  11. Awesome episode. There wasn't too much of May's past so it was good. It has just enough info to keep it meaning full. I liked how Katya girl connected with the Inhumans, and once Skye's mom started talking I knew it was the little girl. Anyway whatever happened so be it, it all lead to the present for may where she is Mainly ok now.
    - Once they learn what Coulson is really up to, they are gonna be biting themselves for not seeing the big picture.

The Past was good, but the Present was much much better. Jiaying revealing herself to Skye was a really nice moment. And that she too searched relentlessly with Cal is meaningful. And backs up my views in that after loosing your kid you would do anything if to get them back. Its why regarding. Skye I never found Cal at fault. And I'm glad he gets to have a nice dinner with Skye and that Jiaying wants it for Cal too.

And by the end we find out Raina so far has Precognition, neat. I like how they are Gordon, Lincoln and their people are helping her. Turning someone from bad to good is good. Hope she does for her sake.

And yea buddy Fitz opened up the box, skills yo! And asked for help on getting out and hanging out! Its gonna be alright Fitz the Hairdrier has you covered.

  12. Nope didn't find it creepy, personally I found it deserving of Cal.

  13. I liked it a lot, but i'm kinda afraid they only showing us this so we can understand when May is turning her back on Coulson because of his project with powered people

    ReplyDelete
  14. It's not simply the project itself, but the fact that she was his number two and had no idea that something this big, in both size and scope, was going on. Nobody she knew knew about it. That's the sort of secret keeping that Gonzalez was talking about.

  15. Good episode, but sad for what might have been for both May and her husband, and Skye and her parents. I guess Raina ended up being the clairvoyant. It looks like Skye and Jiaying's secret might already be in danger. I loved their scenes. The dinner with Cal was sad, sweet, and a little creepy all at the same time. LOL.

I'm kind of disappointed that May seems to be questioning Coulson. I'm worried she could end up siding with Gonzales. Whatever Coulson is up too, it's not going to be anything bad. He could be following Fury's orders.

Great scene with Fitz at the end.

  16. Well I knew May's story would make me cry but having Skye find out about her mum just made me wreck throughout.

I kinda figured that it was the little girl with the power but still that was devastating, just the near catatonic state that Coulson finds May in and then the montage of May going through her life. That was incredibly sad. I liked how it linked in with the Inhumans plot as well.

Raina being a clairvoyant is perfect! When she realises I hope it makes her happy as she longed to meet the real Clairvoyant for so long.

Fitz at the end was adorable, yay Fitz.

  17. But did anyone else find that dinner scene with Jiaying and Cal creepy?

I did, it was almost like they got the year of her birth wrong maybe, it was odd. Something is not right and I'm not convinced Jiaying came back right. Which makes me sad because I want Skye to be happy.

  18. i LOVE that headcanon LOL

  19. AWESOME EPISODE!!!!!! July 2 very special day indeed. So Raina can see the future, that is interesting, Skye has interesting powers. I can't wait to see the team back together.
But are you kidding me Coulson made the bad guy, SERIOUSLY!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. why is July 2 special?

    ReplyDelete
  21. yeah of course, but i thought you meant something else

    ReplyDelete
  22. HOW IN THE HELL IS MELINDA MAY EVEN WALKING RIGHT NOW?!!!!! i can't believe she had to kill a little girl!!!!!!!!!! Coulson wasn't kidding, May really was a completely different person. SKYE SHIELD IS STILL YOUR FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you just don't know what's happening right now, PLEASE DON'T LOSE HOPE ON COULSON, MAY, JEMMA AND LEO PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! definitely do not trust the Inhumans a ALL and THERE'S the Raina we all know and loathe, planning a massacre. Loved that last scene with Leo, Coulson and Hunter

    ReplyDelete
  23. it's DEFINITELY a cult, no doubt about it now

    ReplyDelete
  24. she will ever be happy with her TRUE family: SHIELD

    ReplyDelete
  25. this show is getting better and better !

    ReplyDelete
  26. Now it depends if Lincoln is a good guy or not. If he reveals bad things will happen. The whole inhumans thing is shady but i hope there are a few genuinely good people.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I loved how the Bahrain story tied in with the inhumans storyline. I was wondering why they decided to tell the story on this episode now we know why. May backstoy is hearbreaking.

I was surprised when Jiaying told Skye she was her mother. I was so sure they would delay the reveal. I'm glad i was wrong. So now we know why Jiaying needs to be quite about her daughter and why she didn't look for her earlier. Gordon line about setting her destiny makes a bit more sense now. When they find out who she is she will be in danger. Looks like Jiaying intentions are good but we know things are not lining up to end so well. Gordon knows about Skye since he was the one bringing Cal in and now lIncoln knows too. Since Gordon was trained by Jiaying he seems loyal to her but still don't trust him and lincoln, we still don't know his true intentions. The dinner scene was a bit creepy. I thought it was weird Jiaying was denying Cal seeing Skye on the last episode and now she got him preparing a dinner for them. What the hell they will do to him.

Raina is the real clairvoyant! What a way to make everything back into ull circle. This is how she got introduced on the show and now she is the one if the abilities ti see the future. Fits her well.

    Coulson made the bad guy?

  29. I have been whining again and again about them not telling us what cavalry story is. But it was really worth the wait. What an awesome episode. I really loved how both the flashbacks and inhuman story line was combined. Very clever. Agent Melinda May is the best.

Loved Skye and her mother's every scene. Diechen Lachlan FTW. I love her. Gordon seems to be very volatile. I can see him turning against Skye in the future. Lincoln I am not so sure. He seems to be a little too good. We have to see.

I am a bit upset May and Jemma are doubting Coulson even a little bit. Coulson should have at least brought in one among them in on his secrets. Bobbi seems to be struggling with her actions. Loved the small last scene of FItz.

This was really a great episode.

  30. Just finished watching the latest episode and it was the best one yet. I feel sorry for Melinda for what happened in the past. Also Skye finding out that Jiayang was her mother was beautifully done. And the ending was a shocker finding out that Raina also can see the future. All in all a great episode i would give it 10/10

    ReplyDelete
  31. Maybe- they tell everyone they can leave if they want to but then Raina finds out she cannot.

    ReplyDelete
  32. How ironic that Raina turns out to be the true Clairvoyant after she spent all that time trying to find him.

    ReplyDelete
  33. How funny is that after she chased the dream of finding the real Clairvoyant for so long only to find out he was a fake.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Skye's Mother said they had to keep their relationship secret but people already know-- Gordon was there when she met with Cal last week and Lincoln saw the "family" dinner. Not much of a secret for very long I think....

    ReplyDelete
  35. All great points.

    ReplyDelete
  36. oh man, so sad ;_;

    ReplyDelete
  37. I didn't even think of that, brilliant!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Well look at it the way they are showing it. He had a secret program without informing his team, then there is this all beds, Mike being active agent who Coulson kept giving upgrades without telling Simmons on what she was working on. And now being accused of gathering superhuman individuals and making a team out of them. And let's not forget this new so called photos of him with May's husband and their meetings.

    ReplyDelete
  39. So now we know why they set her out on this journey from the beginning.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Loved it! From the tragic "origin story" of The Cavalry moniker that May was dubbed to the fallout that is setting up things with Coulson, to Skye's discoveries amongst the Inhumans and the feeling that something is going to go wrong soon, to the bit with Fitz/Coulson/Hunter at the end... just great stuff

    ReplyDelete
  41. I get the feeling that Gordon and Jiaying already have a close relationship sice she was his mentor (possibly the last one till Skye), so I don't think he will say anything. Lincoln didn't see anything that confirms the relationship, as far as he may know Jiaying was just there to keep Cal stable (as Raina didn't talk about Jiaying

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yeah, I agree well paced and even between May and Skye. The emotions for both arcs were well done and certainly for May you just have to feel for her, and the change in personality is fairly cool.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Agree with you, for May particularly as she and Andrew were planning to have kids themselves when she did this. It was well done to show the huge changes that she went through and why she has issues with gifted. I wonder if Skye will ever tell her the other side when she gets back with the team.

I have been pretty harsh on may in the past. But really glad on this second season they are letting her shine a lot. And not be one dimensional.

  45. In terms of th question about what Coulson has been up to, I jus thought about the commen Andrew made to May before leaving... 'Shield hasn't changed" To me this is the suggestion that Andrew had been working with Coulson for a while beforehand.

  46. This episode was perfect. One of the best hours of the series ever. Man, this show!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Side note: Fitz is seriously becoming one of my favorite characters ever. That guy is awesome

    ReplyDelete
  48. I think it was just because they both know Cal is unhinged and were "playing" to start to keep him from going nuts, but they both kinda warmed to the "nice Cal".

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm wondering if it's not actually Coulson but Fury doing things and using Coulson's name to maintain the fiction that he's dead?

    ReplyDelete
  50. I doubt it since May was able to track his movements.

    ReplyDelete
  51. But she was going by the data that Bobbi etc provided - Coulson told May he was going to one place but Bobbi's data said somewhere else... I reckon the data wasn't actually tracking Coulson.... hope they explain what the heck is going on before season finale.... really hate cliffhangers when they know their audience is coming back.

    ReplyDelete
  52. At the very least I hope it's a really good explanation and Bobbi & Mac are left with egg on their faces and May & the other guys are vindicated for trusting Coulson and aren't left feeling betrayed.
