Once Upon a Time - Season 4 - Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis Interview

Thanks to Spindae2 for the heads up.

TVLINE | The Author (played by Patrick Fischler) is on the loose. Is it not just about who can find him first, but who can convince him to do their bidding?

ADAM HOROWITZ | That’s certainly a large part of it. We wanted to get to the reveal of the Author sooner in the season that we thought people might expect, by bringing him out when we did, and now it’s about what happens with him out, what happens with who he winds up in contact with, what is everyone’s agenda and how do they cross? And what does the Author himself want? Where did he come from and what is he all about?

TVLINE | He does seem to have some sort of agenda, seeing as he was a somewhat mischievous “recorder” of stories and took some liberties.

HOROWITZ | Absolutely. In the episode that just aired, we saw that he was banished to the book for “breaking the rules,” for changing things, so the question is: Why does he want to change things? What did he change? PATRICK FISCHLER, ROBERT CARLYLE When did he start changing things? Where did he come from? All these questions are ones we’re hoping the audience is asking, because were about to give you the answers.

TVLINE | By the way, great casting there with Fischler. He’s great at playing weasely types.

EDDY KITSIS | We loved him when he was the comedian on Mad Men, and he played a Dharma guard for us on Lost. We’re just huge fans. And in an episode coming up, “Sympathy for the De Vil,” we not only really get to unleash Cruella but you’ll also see a lot of Patrick in that, and he’s just fantastic. We’re really happy with what he’s doing.

  1. Sometimes I wish they would stop doing press if they're going to be so open about how little they care.

I mean, could that Ursula answer be any more ridiculous? Especially when we know there is no difference at all between the villains and the heroes.

  2. I guess these final 6 episodes are the back half the season the guys claim will focus a little more on Will. I just dont need them pulling a Red like in season 2.

  3. Cruella's happy ending is getting more and more intriguing. Looking forward to the episode.
Hopefully Zelena's comeback will be in big fashion. Seems like something major!

  4. 1.I can't to see what Cruella's happy ending is!Episode 19 is surely going to be EPIC.
2.I wonder what will Gold against Regina to do control her/do his bidding-I hope it's not related to Henry!
    3.DarkSwan is rising!
4.This author reveal is going to be very interesting!

It has nothing to do with Henry. Mr. Gold is using Robin Hood to get Regina to do his bidding.

  6. Thank god,at least that poor child will be spared from his wrath.

  7. Despite everything I think Gold really cares about Henry and would want for him to be part of his life.

  8. Yay for Will finally getting a little more than 2 seconds worth of screen time this week (It'll probably end up being 3 seconds instead).

Although I don't really care how Will met Robin. I'd much rather find out how he met Anastasia AND WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO HER!!!

  12. I would prefer that it was Henry, then we could leave Robin Hood where ever he is and never see him again.

  13. Why?You don't like him?I love him!

  14. I wonder too what it is, since she said to Rumple in s04e12 "Darkness On The Edge Of Town": I was quite content with my life until I received this summons (...).

  17. Content and happy are far away from each other.
I assume she was in a state of missery living through her life. Just like when Mal was living with her horse when Regina wanted her dark curse back.

  18. im just starting to believ that if Emma dissapears she will end up in wonderland and we will deal with all that in S5

  19. In OUAT in Wonderland we got to know how Will met Robin :p

  20. You're right. Just noticed that when I went back to episode 3. Robin even says "Welcome to the merry men." Odd, I guess we will see a flashback that flows into that flashback, and hopefully doesn't just write off OUAT in Wonderland as a failed attempt.

  21. I have to agree I'd be far more interested in Will backstory without Hood in it, and I'd be far more interested in Gold's issue were it not tied to Hood. This is like an advertisement warning me away.
