Grimm - Mishipeshu - Review

20 Apr 2015

In this week's Grimm Mishipeshu: A homicide leads Nick and Hank onto the dark and mysterious path of a local Native American power quest. Meanwhile, Juliette's erratic behavior lands her on the wrong side of the law. At the spice shop, Rosalee and Monroe are on a mission and call on Captain Renard for help.

Ok, we got it. Juliette is a very bad bad bad woman right now. It seems like the writers are reminding us every single week since she's become a Hexenbeist. This time, she walks into a bar, starts flirting with a guy, then asks him if he's going to like her with her new "face" which causes a blackout in the whole place. Let's stop pretending everything is ok with Nick because he's obviously frustrated when he tells Monroe, Rosalee and Hank that Juliette doesn't answer his calls. While Nick is busy at work, Rosalee and Monroe contact Sean Renard who brings them the book Adalind used to turn into Juliette.

Deputy Farris is back and join Nick, Hank and Wu's team to investigate on the murder of a janitor in the school, Larry Killburn. Nick can't really catch a breathe when Juliette is under custody in prison, so Hank and Farris decide to team up and handle the murder case.

Juliette is acting like a Hexenbeist like Adalind used to be, and she once again blames Nick for what happened to her, but at the same time she thanks him because she got stronger. Nick's always been the one who's got the power till now. Is she trying anything to her his attention? Because otherwise I can't explain her (childish) behaviour.

The Wesen (if we can call like that) of the week involved a guy named Simon being possed by an ancient spirit. The local Native Americans believe everyone has a spirit guide who help us in finding what is our true nature. Too bad this spirit is called Mishipeshu, a creature who's supposed to live deep down the Lake, according local tribes, and he's killing other two people. Nick, Hank and Farris find out the murders are connected to each other. During a session with the shaman, Hank is possesed by the spirit and this leads the group to Simon and the truth about the murder of Simon's father. The experience leaves Hank exausted and the murder unresolved till the spirit finally have their revenge - Farris is the last one being possesed tho.

By the way, did you see some sparks between Farris and Hank? Also, did you think Renard and Juliette slept together?
Next week we'll see Adalind tells Nick about her pregnancy, a lot of Juliette being badass and secure an alliance with Prince Kenneth.
Season finale is coming: are you excited?

  1. I hope the Deputy Lady sticks around for a while.

  2. With the Hexenbiest part of her having now become dominant, the old Juliette has no control over her actions. I fear this will lead to her killing or/and seriously wounding those from her family of friends in the final episodes. The finale ( as described in TV Guide) sounds very grand and tragic in scope and content. Everyone and everything will be in play.

  3. I won't lie the bar scene was kind of funny ecpeselly when Juliette called herself Jackie

  4. I'm getting tired and annoyed at this whole Juliette's transformation is permanent because Nick's blood can't be used nonsense. Ohh, let's look through the magic hexenbeist book and ask Renard. Meanwhile, all they need is the blood of a grimm to fix her. Hey, what do you know, Troubel emails. Instead of saying "come on over for a weekend, we have a situation that you can fix in seconds" Nick says all good here. Now let's all continue to be anxious and scared for Juliette cause it's permanent. Really annoying.

  5. This seasons gone bat-sh*t crazy and I'm loving it! Next week's episode though looks like the cream of the coffee what with Adalind & Nick playing mommy/daddy (which is going to be hilarious) & Juliette allying with Kenneth!
