    Kalf overthrew Lagertha and called in as allies the last family of the man Ragnar overthrew. You honestly think Ragnar doesn't know these guys are threats? Ragnar lulls people into thinking he's stupid and trusts them blindly, and then when he's gotten everything they are willing to give and they show their true colors he defeats them because they've always underestimated him. I just didn't think that applied to the audience.
