Rules

The show will return huge next fall with all of the positive word of mouth this season received, the music sales, and new fans that be will catching up on season 1 this summer.
I think it will hit an 8.0 next fall, and probabky settle into the 5s/6s next season.

I'd be shocked if this long hiatus didn't affect the ratings momentum. Viewers tend to be fickle so who actually knows if this will still be "hot enough" by the time it returns to have the same great ratings trends. I hope that it does keep growing though. I like FOX having the top broadcast show. I like that Empire is putting out better hip hop than actual studios right now. I love the show itself. But I'll guess if the show comes back by this fall, the ratings will match or be within 10% of the penultimate week's rating.
I feel like Netflix would have been a better platform for Empire, I know so many people who will not even use my Hulu logins because they are not willing to deal with 2 or 3 ads per break.

I think it may has peaked (except maybe the S2 premiere). I for one aren't pleased with the direction it is taking.
ReplyDeleteI can see the show realistically returning with mid 7's and then dropping down to high 6's throughout the entire season.

I think it will eventually start dropping but could reach up to 8
ReplyDeleteWord of mouth that I've heard has been positive for the finale overall.
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of people will be curious what happens at the S2 premier, and I also believe summer binge-watching will massively affect the show.
The show hasn't peaked yet, but it may (and likely will) peak next fall.
6.0 to 6.9. I don't see it going any higher, but hopefully it does.

25's on DVR, beating every other show.
They will promote the hell out of that second season, i expect the premiere ratings going above 7.0.
