(I honestly think if this and Battle Creek had actually gotten fall launches they would have found bigger audiences.)
Sorry, but everything which lead up to this scene is so stupid that I couldn't even be properly broken up about it. So Athelstan randomly decides that it is a good idea to sleep with a married woman and next randomly hears god and decides that he is a Christian after all? That's just BS! At the very least they could have left him in the weird place in-between.
