Another popular recurring DC character from the Arrow-Flash universe is boarding the CW’s proposed spinoff from the two superhero dramas. The new Flash villainous duo of Captain Cold/Heat Wave will be staying intact as Dominic Purcell has joined Brandon Routh, Wentworth Miller, Victor Garber and Caity Lotz in the superhero team-up show from Arrow creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim.

Awesome, love him and Wentworth Miller together in the Flash, so they should work really well on this too.

He's so over the top but maybe that is the point.Intrigued to see how they pull it off for a long run without the combo getting irritating!

ReplyDeleteThis makes me so happy. Dominic is a great talent and I've wanted to see him in a series I'm a fan of for some time. LOVED John Doe so much and I love his "hot-headed" take on Heat Wave as it's the complete opposite of how Captain Cold is so calculating.

Robbie either wanted a bigger paycheck and/or didn't want to stay on television, Ronnie becomes separated with the F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M. matrix or Ronnie never becomes Firestorm if Barry goes back in time and changes certain events. Could make way for how Captain Cold and Heat Wave end up being good guys in the spin-off.

ReplyDeleteIf most people theories are correct, I doubt what we saw of them is any indication of what they will be like. Everything I've read points towards Captain Cold being a good guy on this one, so maybe Heat Wave is too.

As I live on European time, Indiana Wells tennis tournament kicked my ass last night as I watched Jankovic play till 2 am and woke up 5:30 to go to the University(final year on my medicine studies). I went out on some drinks with my friends and will go to sleep early and party on the weekend, like old people do. ^_^

ReplyDeleteThe only reason I watched Superman was because my 4 years old godson is completely obsessed with superheroes, so as soon as it became available on Netflix I was doomed... The good thing is he didn't like it either! Christopher Reeve is still his favorite Superman \o/

ReplyDeleteHe will get them in the form of Wally West and Bart Allen. He'll have the Flash family, like how Green Arrow has Speedy and Arsenal and Black Canary as field partners. Plus Barry due to his power level doesn't really need a ton of help heroics wise. Once he begins displaying phasing, near speed of light levels of power ((which is quite strenuous for speedsters often)) and the infinite mass punch partners who aren't Flashes or speedsters wouldn't really be able to keep up with Barry. And both Firestorm and the Flash as mains could lead to some problems power wise. If they kept Ronnie I'd rather they keep him de-powered for a while then bring in Jason so they could fuse for a crisis (say Grodd or Zoom). Honestly I want them to focus on developing Wally or Bart in season 2 like they want to and get the speed force down and deepen flash mythology instead of making other non- flash powered individuals regulars. If they did keep him powered I hope he'd stay recurring.

ReplyDeleteIf something were to happen that is similar to Flashpoint, it'd be a waste not to turn Captain Cold into Citizen Cold. That was one of my favorite ideas during that arc.
The mid-season premiere thing makes me think it's some kind of Agent Carter like hiatus filler perhaps.

ReplyDeleteWhat are you writing? I started writing a novel on Serbian (supernatural theme of course, witches and stuff) and I played the whole thing through in my head, but I'm to lazy to execute. I really struggle to sit down and just write.
I wrote a couple of Enligsh Fan fiction and published them on fanfiction.net. One is a Secret Circle spin off titled 3rd circle and I wrote a Arrow spin off titled Amazon, involving Thea, Diana Prince and Harley Quinn, but just one chapter for now as I have to much to study these days. But honestly my English is badISH. When I write I turn off and just write and don't even notice the errors when I prove read it as I know what there should be written.
I don't get it. Is this show going to focus on Villains?

ReplyDeleteNYC baby! Born and raised. Right now I would loveee to continue writing more of my fanfiction. Unfortunately, my laptop is shot. And I desperately need a new one. I just don't have the funds to get one right now. But iI write a lot of poetry, and used to write Children's books. I also wrote an Arrow fanfiction, now that I published on wattpad.com. I've been wanting to write a sequel to it, as fans have been asking for one. But I mean REALLY publish. I want to publish all my work, but i'm just stuck. I'd like to have my foot through the door before I hit the big 3-0. (In a few yrs). Writer's block can be a real bitch, maybe you should try to write at night time. Umm, when you have time that is. Lol If iI lived closer to you, iI would definitely be able to help you with the grammar. But hey, you'll get it eventually. I mean if you can hold a conversation (as you do everyday) then the rest Should fall into place, and if not well, that's why there's editor's. Lol ; )

ReplyDeleteSo your primer goal is to be a writer? Or better said you are a writer already! My primer occupation will be physisian but writing does nice things to my soul. Creating those stories and using my imagination is keeping a part of me young and childish.
With English my major problem is my vocabular, it is quite small and I use the same words all over again. When writing in Serbian it has a lot more shape, beauty and soul.

ReplyDeleteScreenwriting is such a great thing. I like Tv cause it combines all the senses and gives you a full circle. I assume writers have to be quite and satisfied proud when someone perfectly channels their written words. I primer school I always was so terrible while writing papers but as I grew up I found a better way to express myself and at this point I'm doing quite the fine job.
I would really love to work on shows as well but it is unrealistic at this point when you look where I live and everything. No way I can break through. But you never know maybe I'll get my chance one day.
I'm not watching shows as I'm punishing myself, for not studying enough. I have exams till next monday and won't watch any new or old episodes, but will probably make an exception for the new Flash episode, everyone is praising it as a game changer. So lets see what they bring to the table tonight.
I wasn't too impressed with Heatwave so far, but I loved Dominic on Prison Break, so I'm hoping he'll grow into the role. I don't care how dumb I sound, but I just love that he and Wentworth Miller will be on a show together again, I loved the Prison Break bros.
