  1. This show knows how to do creepy well. But did anyone else laugh at Norman saying, "Well move over you silly woman."

  2. I voted great. Thought it was a good set up for the season, but it lacked something special. It looks like Annika is a goner, which is too bad, I would of enjoyed seeing TS hang around a little longer...maybe he'll hallucinate about her? On the other hand I like how we're getting into Norma and Caleb's past a bit more and of course Pyscho is starting to feel very present!

Ps: Does anyone know if Ian Tracey will be around this season? I miss Remo already!

  3. a little slow but good, I don't know how to feel about Caleb, it's so weird, when he told Dylan that he was his dad I felt chills,I mean, it's true, and it's horrible, and I think that's it, i mean, everything else was a little bit repetitive with the Norms, but I know things are being built, and it's going to be great!!.

  4. There is a war being fought over Norman's "soul" between Norma Bates and..........."Norman's mother". If you've seen Alfred Hitchcock's "masterpiece" then you already know who wins. Excellent, if not a subtle start to the new season. 4 THE BATES MOTEL CHECK - OUT TIME, I am Nobody!!!

  5. I think Caleb is very manipulative. I think Norman will end up killing him this season.

  6. Yeah, I've always felt that Caleb's time would be numbered thanks to Norman. Dylan's, too. If either one of them manages to make it away from this family with their life, I will be genuinely surprised.
The Norma/Norman stuff was interesting, as always. Those moments with them in bed together were a bizarre mix of deeply creepy and weird, what with their acting like a couple, and yet gentle and sweet, too, with the part where Norman comforted Norma as she grieved over her mom. I can't even begin to imagine where else their twisted relationship'll go this season, but I'm looking forward to it. That home schooling thing is going to wind up biting both of them somehow, isn't it?
I love the warped humor Norma can inject into any situation, no matter how sad, though-here she was rambling on about all the stuff Norman can expect his first day back to school, blah, blah, only to suddenly throw in, "Oh, and my mother died." And the scene of her yanking Norman out of the car in front of all the other high schoolers, as though he were a five year old, was priceless, too. Vera and Freddie are so good in their scenes together.
Also anxious to find out what the hell went on between Annika and Norman, 'cause, yeah, that ending...uh-oh.

  7. Bit slow for a season opener. Though there has been a clear shift in tone from last season. It really is starting to feel like Psycho. I don't like the Caleb stuff though.

  8. I actually like the Caleb stuff simply because it sheds light on who Norma really is. I think Even though Caleb is a con man, it's becoming more obvious that he was abused too and I think even though Norma calls it rape, I don't know if I fully buy that there weren't some moments were she was with him, because she couldn't help herself and needed to seek shelter. Sometimes Norma's personality is flippant. I think Norma can be very manipulative too, but i def think that by seeking out Dillion, that Norma is going to feel threatened, especially because I think Caleb will screw him up more than even Norma ever has...

  9. What do you mean by Caleb will screw him up even more??, to whom?? Dylan??, why do you think that??

  10. From reading interviews & episode synopsis AND I trust Norma's intuition about him...

  11. It wasn't excellent but it was still great. I liked it.

Man, I don't 'ship' characters but if this was a show with a different premise and not the morbid one we know it is, then I would root hard for Norman and Emma.

  12. wow!! thank you!!, OK you're right, actually ever since I knew about Caleb in season 1, I thought that he might not be as guilty as Norma makes him look, because I'm pretty sure she might have provoked him somehow, in fact I believe she probably consented the first time they had sex, I imagine their relationship just like the relationship she has with Norman right now, where the boundaries are pretty confusing, and with them two (Norma and Caleb) even more confusing since they were so needed of comprehension and love, so that's why I don't know what to think about this interest he has for Dylan, I think it could be a honest feeling.

  13. Wow, Norma is sure Horny, when was the last time she had some?...IDK, but Romero better arrest Norma for Incest in making Norman spoon with her in bed, lol...☺...

  14. It could be an honest thing too, I agree for the exact reasons you pointed out, but even looking at the situation in this episode, Caleb allegedly has some money from the selling of his mothers house and he keeps going on about this Costa Rica stuff, but yet here he is with this broken down piece of garbage vehicle, which may or may not need continuous parts and he just invites himself to Dylan's house without Dylans permission. And of course there's the fact that no one has talked about what happened with Caleb and Norman. So there's just something that doesn't sit quite right about all of that. He may have some good intentions, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't also come with his own share of absorbing problems. He could seriously be using Dylan to get closer to Norma for all we know...

I think Caleb is great addition to the cast and I'm very interested in seeing what all gets revealed about whom he and Norma have are or have once been, but I feel so bad for Dylan, because just like Norma said, he really is a miracle in probably being the most genuine not completely screwed up character along with Emma. They both represent innocence in wanting to be loved, I just really hope it doesn't end In a completed tragedy for both of them, but have a feeling Emma won't survive the series, where Dylan just might....

  15. Up until the middle of the last century it was culturally acceptable to marry people in the family. In the 1900s it was mostly cousins (and actually, I think I just read that some celebrities still do it), but in the ancient world it was much more common to be with closer relations. dont get me wrong, I am a by product of my own culture and so incest does make me recoil when I first think about it, but I also enjoy anthropology and and am not a euthencentrisist and can find the idea of identity through psychological bonds and traumas people go through together an interesting thing to explore. Sex and of physical closeness isn't always about lust or being turned on. Sometimes it's about both a need to be connected to someone and/or a way to escape from life's problems. Norma in particular has an abandonment issue and so she clings to normanfor dear life. And as we keep learning, there may be a history of mental illness in their family too, but something that is even more curious, kind of taking it to a supernatural level, is Normans transference of Norma's memories and seemingly worst personally traits. The show as disturbing or even funny as it can be, is really a tragedy...
