Jeremy Renner will star opposite Amy Adams in Story of Your Life, Paramount’s sci-fi drama being directed by Prisoners helmer Denis Villeneuve.

He will shoot Captain America: Civil War this spring, then segue to Story of Your Life in mid-June, working with Villeneuve, considered one of the hottest directors in town and who just booked the sequel to Blade Runner.

    So right now that's...

    Captain America
    Iron Man
    Black Widow
    Falcon
    Black Panther
    Spider-Man
    Hawkeye

  2. Cool! I wonder whose side they'll all be on? Other than Steve and Tony. Also wonder if Bruce will be in it. I'd imagine him on Steve's side.

Also Winter Soldier and I think Nick Fury too.

Great news! He better be on Steve's side...

  5. Crossbones will supposedly be there, too.

  6. Would be great to see Bruce in a non-Avengers movie! Even if just in a supporting role as a political coin, I'd love to see him in Civil War.

Although, I'm sure we would've heard by now if he'd be there.

  7. I could've sworn it was confirmed a month or so ago that Hawkeye would be there when it was confirmed that Falcon would be reappearing.

Either way: GOOD. We need more Clint in the MCU! And Bruce.

  8. I agree, I'd really love to see Bruce in this too! I really can't imagine him siding with registering people though.

  9. It wasn't confirmed confirmed.

  10. This is cool, he was meant to cameo in the last Cap film but couldn't fit it in his schedule, good to see more of Barton.

This is almost becoming The Avenger 2.5........missing Thor and Hulk

  12. So...they haven't filmed the movie yet? I thought they needed at least two years, because of the all the special effects.

  13. I'm always happy for more Hawkeye (that my voice recognition software keeps putting down as hot guy), but I hope it is not more than a cameo. I feel like there's going to be way too many characters in this movie, especially if they add anybody from any of the TV shows.

That being said, ABC and Marvel please send Agent 13 to Agents of SHIELD or give her the winter hiatus miniseries. No offense to any of the fans who love Revenge, but the writing is on the wall. It hurts. It's been five years and I'm still angry at ABC for canceling Ugly Betty. It may soften the blow for some If Emily is still on our TV screens on a new show. From a creative standpoint with so many other characters in Civil War, I feel like the character will fall into the background or not be there at all. On TV, the character could really be developed and have a chance to truly shine.

  14. Considering what I've seen them do on Agents of SHIELD on with a TV budget and production time, they will be fine. Marvel's post production people have gotten really good at doing excellent effects very quickly. They can actually start on some of the bigger effect even before shooting begins. Besides shooting for Avengers 2 took place last summer, so it would be about the same production time.

  15. Thanks! No wonder they can release that many movies in a short time.

  16. Wouldn't want that either. However when you consider how dangerous the Hulk can be when out of control, he might side with Tony. They're buds as well. In the new trailer Witch looks like she got into Widows head. She may have gotten to Hulk too. Might be why they were fighting. Bruce may feel some guilt and think registration could be a good thing.
Love to speculate about these movies, can't wait for this next crop of Marvel films!!

  17. I hope they do include Witch/Silver. It would be a waste of 2 cool characters. I wanna see more of them.

  18. I think he will die in avengers 2 and he will be in flashback for this film.

  19. They really should've waited until after Ultron came out to confirm Black Widow, Hawkeye, et al for Civil War. Now we know all of the Avengers are safe. At most, they might kill off Maria Hill or Rhodey.

  20. Good news to me. I like him.

  21. Or this could be another rumored to make people believe that. Last summer, there were all sorts of reports about BJ Britt being in the Avengers 2, therefore making everybody think that Trip was safe on Agents of SHIELD. We now know how that turned out. Besides, for all we know Clint could be appearing in a posthumous flashback.

  22. The BJ Britt thing was just a rumor, started by some fan claiming they spotted him on set. Isn't this official?

Granted, it could be an appearance via flashbacks, although I don't really see what would be the point of that.

  23. Woooow. Sounds epic

  24. Yes!! Ironman is one of my least favourite avengers.

  25. I hope not!!!

  26. The Quartet will already be making an appearance of sorts in Age of Ultron, since Jeremy Renner says that Hawkeye will be paired with Pietro and Wanda a lot in that movie, and Cap is the one in charge :)

  27. This movie is gonna be so good. It has more than half of the Avengers so its kindve like Avengers 2.5

  28. It's so sad that Hawkeye, one of the more awesome characters in the Marvel universe, has become such an useless Avenger in the MCU. At least Warner Brothers/DC care about their archer.

  29. Imo, Iron Man is my least favorite because of RDJ. It's Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark. He hasn't even portrayed Tony Stark.

Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth, however, have become the embodiment of Captain America and Thor.

  30. Pretty sure you can add War Machine/Iron Patriot to the list as well unless Rhodey dies in Age of Ultron.

Personally, either Rhodey should be War Machine again or dies pretty soon and Norman Osborn becomes the true Iron Patriot.

  31. I find him way too snarky. I can deal with him in the Avengers, but not the stand alone movies. I didn't like Iron Man 3 at all

    ReplyDelete
  32. Well, it's easier to deal with him in The Avengers when Captain America played a more important role. Hopefully the same is with Age of Ultron.

  33. Fingers crossed!
