So true. I wish there was more focus on creating an overarching storyline instead of setting up the procedural. Hopefully David Anders would solve that ..
I'm actually a fan of the "procedural with serialized overarching story" elements approach, and I think the show has the chops to pull that style off. They handled both narrative streams well in the pilot, and I have faith that this creative team can maintain a balance between procedural and supernatural dramedy.
However I do mind that for the second episode the only information we got about the episode is... nothing about the episode... it was the same "Look at me! I'm a zombie!!!" type promo we've been getting all year...
I'm definitely one who doesn't care for yet another zombie-related show. This show has having Rob and casting David Anders to thank myself to giving it a shot!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Lol. Those brains at 10 seconds in look way to much like jello.
ReplyDeletewell Liv's horny LOL
ReplyDeleteFun though, nothing much about the actual plot of the episode....

Right. Now that the series has begun I hope the CW stops with the "hey everybody, I'm a zombie" ads and focuses on episode content.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed that will be the case from episode 3 onwards...

Problem is too them Zombie stuff is a more attractive incentive. Forgetting that many, many people think the genre is played out.
ReplyDeleteThat kind of jaded viewer isn't going to be the viewer inclined to give this show a try anyway.
