Hart of Dixie - Cancelled - Confirmed by Show Creator

Update: 14th March Here is an update from Jaime King

From Lemons first entrance, to the last 2 final series episodes, I shall take my final bow. Farewell, my beloved Bluebell. It has been the best 4 years of my life, giving my heart and soul to this role & to our dear fans of Hart of Dixie. To Leila Gerstein you are my idol, a role model for every woman, a true storyteller, a BRILLIANT show runner & mother, you baffle me with your ability- you gave me a character that will never leave me because you saw that she was in me, that I could make her human, vulnerable, a punch in the face lovable Lemon. You let me take her and make her my own, knowing from the beginning that that is what I would do- make her so real it hurt because she just wanted so much to love and be loved. Thank you my dear cast & crew- we were on some ride or die shit- through the laughter, tears, pushes and pulls- how we have grown through each other so beautifully. To @joshschwartz76 & @TheFakeEmpire team- you are so NOT a fake empire- you lead me to the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow and actually touch it. I wished for that my entire Midwestern childhood. Zoe, isn't it funny how enemies are just one in the same? Rachel B- you know I did this show to be close to you buddy, I love you. @cw_network, Mark Pedowitz, Lori Openden - there are no words. #ClassAct To our fans- You have lifted me and given me a gift greater than my wildest dreams. I thank you. I thank you. I thank you. And I love you more than words can ever express. And Lemon, you taught me so much- break the rules- be naughty for the ones you care about- be the BEST FUCKING FRIEND because loyalty requires shenanigans sometimes and being a best friend means that sometimes we act stupid, senseless, blinded by what looks like selfishness but is actually the purest love and wanting the best for that other person- tradition is great if it means being true to yourself, if not let it go gracefully or with the middle finger- you don't have to rely on the approval or acceptance of others to love yourself, just love yourself because you are love, be a feminist & the only thing close to being "perfect" is following your heart. We are one. #HartofDixeForever Xx

  1. And yet Reign and BATB live on... Amazing.

  2. Don't make me think about it...........

  3. My heart is breaking, but I think we all saw it coming!
Surprised she was allowed to tweet it.
I really hope that last three will be amazing.

    Aww :(
I guess it was expected. It's on the lower end but it has enough episodes to sell into syndication so it survived long enough.

Hopefully iZombie can earn a renewal.

    ReplyDelete
  5. ... The 100.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Actually its 2 episodes left. She posted this when 8th episode was airing.

    ReplyDelete
  7. RIP Hart of Dixie, first of all.

Second of all, I saw the first two episodes in advance of iZombie and it was quite entertaining. Good for CW putting this after The Flash.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I was so sad when I found this on twitter.RIP HOD.

  9. Christopher DeBono13 March 2015 at 13:15

Yep same here. I loved the first 2 episodes and I'm really looking forward to the rest. Hopefully the combination with The Flash works and it gets renewed. I'm already hooked.

    ReplyDelete
  10. How no one noticed those tweets earlier? o.O
I still didn't had a chance to watch 8th., so I thought she was right.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I saw this today and shared with Spoilertv.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I knew this was coming, but I think the show could've had one more season.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Why? It's doing just as good or better than Beauty and the Beast and Reign on a FRIDAY. Weekday, it would probably close in on The 100, Jane the Virgin, and The Originals.

I kind of wanted a renewal just in spite of the Cancellation Bear.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Expected, but still sad. I loved every single episode of the show since Season 2.

I am not going to say i am disappointing like all others do, the show got 4 amazing seasons and it is time to say goodbye and since the ending should be satisfying so that is amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Honestly I wouldn't put this on any other show. Last season HoD hit many 0,3 and some 0,2 and still got renewed.

I'm surprised it is doing this well on Fridays this season.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Now C Bear will be like I told you so.Ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I don't really see The 100 in the same ratings tier, CW is kind of like:

    1. The Flash / Arrow
    2. Supernatural / Vampire Diaries
    3. Originals / The 100 / Jane The Virgin
    4. Hart of Dixie / Reign / BATB

    ReplyDelete
  18. I would prefer if they somehow announced that it is officially ending, it sounds better than CANCELLED

    ReplyDelete
  19. Agreed.I sen the scoop with the title Hart of Dixie Ending, not cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yeah, I always tend to disagree with a good handful of it's predictions.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hart Of Dixie had to deal with Rachel Bilson's pregnancy and the fact that it likely would have never made its money back with syndication. Considering those two things, it's not surprising CW decided to keep other series going.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I feel all shows that are eligible for a syndication deal or already have one end, not get cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Christopher DeBono13 March 2015 at 13:24

I assume Rachel Bilson wanted out since she's a mother now. The way some of her cast members have spoken about her in magazines, it sounds like she really wanted to be a mother and intends to be really hands. If she kept filming it would interrupt that.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Kristi Hungerford13 March 2015 at 13:24

Awww goodbye hod ive enjoyed the 4 years i got with ya u will be missed

    ReplyDelete
  25. Do not understand, at all, why the CW didn't announce it right away as a final season. They surely couldn't have expected better ratings than the ones the got. They deserved an officially announced final series based on its performance this season, but well. It's sad to see it go, I like the type of show it was and I love Rachel Bilson.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Christopher DeBono13 March 2015 at 13:26

I believe its because it wasn't announced pre-season. When they announce that a show is ending, then it's really ending. But the way the CW has made it sound, it still had a (small) chance at renewal. So it sounds more like they decided to cancel it rather then end it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I wanted the show renewed because I enjoy it for the light show it is but I also wanted it to spite the freaking annoying Cancellation Bear.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Sad sad sad, but we saw it coming. RIP.

    ReplyDelete
  29. HoD got .5 on Fridays, did they really expected higher than that? I think HoD really did well there, even if it did .4s most of the times.
Also, it could have been a really good summer performer

    ReplyDelete
  30. They say all good things must come to an end

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yes, that is my point. Like, if they were going to renew it for a 4th season either:
    1) Announce it as final and assume that whatever ratings it pulls are irrelevant and it is done, even reaping eventual benefits from a final season promotion or
    2) See how it goes and renew it if it does well. How the ratings it has gotten on Friday aren't considered "well" is beyond me.

    ReplyDelete
  32. HoD did surprisingly well on Fridays this season. I don't understand why The CW didn't go with a summer trial, it has done consistently well for its timeslot

    ReplyDelete
  33. Farewell Parks and Rec13 March 2015 at 13:31

Especially because everything pointed towards a final season.

The creators will assure a closure, but CW should have announced it to viewers since it looked pretty obvious.

    ReplyDelete
  34. It is especially puzzling as it comes from a network that has a history of announcing final seasons and they actually went out of their way to deny it here. Which would suggest they were actually looking for the numbers it pulled. But it seems completely unrealistic that they could have expected better numbers than the ones it actually got, so I am at a loss.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Farewell Parks and Rec13 March 2015 at 13:32

10 weeks placing the same headline.

Good to know izombie only starts next week. He has no headlines but he won't give anything to STV.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Maybe Rachel Bilson did not want to continue and they were still hoping she could change her mind?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Christopher DeBono13 March 2015 at 13:34

I assume it might be due to Rachel Bilson. She's a mother now and she seems to want to be a hands on mother. It'd be unfair to force her (due to contracts) to come back to work through that.

I assume they were in negotiations for a while and couldn't come to an agreement.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Even for what wouldn't be a full season? Maybe, but it looks strange to me

    ReplyDelete
  39. It was an amazing 4 year ride, Hart of Dixie. You will be missed! ♥

    ReplyDelete
  40. Christopher DeBono13 March 2015 at 13:41

So this makes me wonder now. What is the CW going to put on Fridays in the 2015-2016 season? I'd always assumed that they would renew HOD and use that as cheap filler on Fridays. It's a good enough Friday performer for them plus pushing it to 88 or higher can't hurt.

Reign perhaps? Or more reality stuff?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Im guessing Reign or CW is hoping The Messengers will succeed on Friday.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Reign or CW is hoping Messengers will succeed.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I saw this when she tweeted it, but I still thought maybe she was just referring to the fact that it hadn't been renewed yet and was being a negative nancy.

    ReplyDelete
  44. She didn't care about the show anyway. You still can work if you have a baby. Rachel bilson messed up hart of dixie show by leaving the show when they need her to do the show. Jaime king work after she had her first child and took her child to work. Rachel just didn't want to work on anything and became a lazy mom . Wanting somebody to take care are her and her baby. So saying that was stupid. When there are working moms out there who put their child in daycare and make it work. But she can go on a road in jan.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Glad you did :)

Strange that no one else seems to have picked up on it either lol

    ReplyDelete
  46. 1st tweet posted here sadly aludes to cancellation completely.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Also she retweed this https://twitter.com/lifeissweeting/status/575847313203200001

Your Rachel Bilson obsession is creepy.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Bantilau Regnies13 March 2015 at 13:59

You are totally wrong. Scott Porter said in an interview she wantes some months off before coming back to work.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Bantilau Regnies13 March 2015 at 14:02

She wanted to continue according Scott's interview in October. Jaime King is also a mother and she is expecting her second child. You can be a mother and work.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I agree it's ominous, I just...CW even announced 90210 as ending while in the midst of it's fifth season...I can't understand why they'd be so coy if this were true.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Aww. I'm not surprised, but still upset by the news.

    ReplyDelete
  53. well it was expected.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Bantilau Regnies13 March 2015 at 14:09

One week later, Spoiler TV notices her tweets LOL.

Can we say now that Pedowitz totally trolled fans with his "we'll see the ratings"? Why did he give hope to the fans? They should have announced it was the finale season. And worse, The CW can't even announce it now. They let the creator do the dirty work.

It would have deserved to become a summer show considering the ratings and the crap they renewed.

JTV is the only show left without vampires, superheroes or monsters, that's crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I saw this today on twitter and then shared with STV,I was shocked this wasnt posted earlier.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Noooo. Somebody call 911 because I think my heart just stoped beating.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Not obsessed about Rachel bilson just telling the truth. She didn't tell people she was pregnant and showed up to filming late in her pregnancy to do it. And she did messed the show by getting pregnant and taking other people parts. She never promoted the show like she suppose to have done. Jaime king was the face are hart of dixie. Rachel never went anywhere to show her face until she went Barbados on a supposedly vacation. Then you didn't see her doing anything else. Hart of dixie was given to her by her friend husband. People still do work when they have a child. What makes Rachel so special not to work . She didn't even go winter tour to show her face but she can go on a road trip for no reason but she can't work? Other people have had their babies and we have seen them and they back to work. Rachel always want somebody to give her something all anymore the time. What she shame to have a baby now? All that talk and she won't mention her baby at all or be seen with it. Lazy mom indeed. Hayden mom and dad work to take care him and brother and sisters. So why Rachel can't work. She has poor work ethics at what she does. But she can work hard to get a baby. Hart of dixie should have been cancelled last season. The way Rachel did the show following a man. But she can't do hart of dixie right? Could have gotten someone else to do it. The way they did the show and her not wanting to do it when hayden was around. Not she don't have nothing a baby.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Sad to see the show cancelled, but glad that it will have a finale with conclusion, there's nothing worse than a show ending with "to be continued..."

    ReplyDelete
  59. Ok, but what changed? I saw it before.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I'm shocked it lasted as long as it did. Never understood the appeal. But condolences to fans all the same.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Bantilau Regnies13 March 2015 at 14:37

My apologizes, you're right, you are NOT OBSESSED AT ALL #creepy

    ReplyDelete
  62. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 14:43

Because they do better internationally are CzbS ( though that dosent matter),are cheap international co -productions-which means they get lower international fees,a third production company paying for production ect) and Czw wants to get them to short syndication & have proper ending while HoD will have enough episodes for short syndication & a proper ending

    ReplyDelete
  63. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 14:43

Because it has enough episodes for syndication & will have a proper ending-that's what CW cares about.Plus, just cause its ratings are same as Reigns dosent mean 0.4-0.5 are exactly good ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 14:45

I'm really sad even though I expected this

    ReplyDelete
  65. Whats that got to do with HOD being cancelled? These descions are dictated by money, Reign needs more episodes for the CW to get any kind of return on their investment. Beauty appears to have some kind of deal in place that benefits the CW and other parties. HOD I would guess has enough episodes and an ending that means all parties are going to get the return from their investment. CW DID NOT CANCEL HOD BECAUSE OF ANY OTHER SHOW.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I don't know about Hart of Dixie but Vampire Diaries has run out of plot-lines and needs to end

    ReplyDelete
  67. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 15:08

vDseventh season next season will Likley be its lsst. But you know shows end because of money reasons only right, not because of creative/qypuslity reasons?

    ReplyDelete
  68. Except it does actually cost money to make a show and they clearly have enough episodes to be able to make a decent return on their investment. I doubt the ratings compared to those other low rated shows had much to do with it.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Seems like a good decition, I'm glad but not surprised that they had an ending planned.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Judgmental much?
Rachel Bislon wanting to work or not after having her child is her own business and she certainly shouldnt be subject to fan scrutiny just because said fans dont want the show to end.
Also JK is pregnant with her second child and might have decided she wanted out too. I doubt this was a descion any of them just took lightly.
Incredibly immature reaction and unfair judging of the actress.

    ReplyDelete
  71. No! Disappointed. They were finally getting back on track with interesting storylines. Could have been a fun season next year.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 15:16

Yeah but the difference is at one time 90210 was a hit for CW,HoD never was so they never cared about. It barely got promoted but the most promotion in season one but that was very little.Dixie kept getting renewed in luck of being steady, cheap & other shows doing as bad or worse.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Pretty much agree. Reign will go for as long as it takes for all parties involved to be satisfied that they are getting a decent return on their investment.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 15:19

People get upset when shows with really bad ratings get renewed & ones with better ratings get cancelled

    ReplyDelete
  75. Bantilau Regnies13 March 2015 at 15:21

HOD ratings are better than Reign's. And HOD airs on Friday with no lead in.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Bantilau Regnies13 March 2015 at 15:22

    and views online.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 15:25

That's true. But as I & Paradise have said HoD is coming to a natural end and has enough episodes for syndication & a proper ending for Czw to get a return on the investment.Money, not just ratings, are the descion makers on CW shows if they live or die.Actually Reign has three 0.5 this season HoD two so far

    ReplyDelete
  78. It was very obvious..besides, they were already preparing S4 as the last...

    ReplyDelete
  79. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 15:34

    that's true too

    ReplyDelete
  80. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 15:45

    Thanks for four season HoD,CW,Rachel

    ReplyDelete
  81. Bantilau Regnies13 March 2015 at 15:48

Reign as three 0.5 after two season, HOD two for its 4th season and after awful ratings last year (go from 0.2 to 0.5 means something)

    ReplyDelete
  82. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 15:50

But the announced ends we're for shows that were at one time hits for the network-SMV,OTH,GG,90210.Dixie was never a hit, just a mediocre rated performer.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Bantilau Regnies13 March 2015 at 15:53

One Tree Hill was prepared every year. Seasons 4, 6 and 8 finales can be series finales, that doesn't mean anything.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 15:55

True but as I said ,HoD has enough episodes to return Czws investment on it,Reign & BatB don't yet.Plus ,CW seems to support Reign,BatB more with promotion, saying favorable things ect then it ever did HoD.

    ReplyDelete
  85. But even the 90210 actors stated they thought they would get a 6th short season despite the falling ratings, but didn't, and were unceremoniously canceled in-season. If they could do that to a former flagship hit, then why not a show they never cared for? Why be coy about the fate of a show you have no investment in?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 16:05

Because HoD was never a hit,90210 so they announced a final season halfway through.Yes the actors expected another season -as did the writer-but things don't always work out as planned.I firmly believe that if 90210 hadn't totally crashed to 0.2-0.3 in season five, they would ve gotten another season but they already had enough episodes for syndication-so CW would get a return in its investment with it & it didn't need another season for syndication.Plus,Prpedoeitz has been changing CW to a genre Neteork while saying" I don't want to all genre"

    ReplyDelete
  87. Sad for the fans :(

    ReplyDelete
  88. That's what I'm saying! 90210 was a Hit Show! Hart of Dixie was not, nor has it ever been, so what is the purpose of remaining vague about the fate of a show you clearly intended on dragging to just syndication numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  89. That doesn't make any sense. The 100 has the same ratings on a wednesday.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I'm sad for the fans of this show. We all know the pain of a cancelled favorite. There are some great actors here that I hope to see find new shows, ASAP.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 16:15

It did well in season one,was a big internationally seller & Oedowitz admitted to being a fan of it ,VD,SPN

    ReplyDelete
  92. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 16:17

I don't know. They shouldve announced it as the final season, idk why he didn't.Ithought at fieprst he'd see how it ,IZombie,Messengers did then decide but with these tweets idk.Maybe has more respect for shows that were hits to announce final season,

    ReplyDelete
  93. I dont watch the show but i feel they should at least give the show one mroe season for a propper goodbye. It was a surprised that the show does so well on fridays going between .4 and .5.

    ReplyDelete
  94. HOD case is different. Some people of the cast and writers have said before that this could very much be the last season. So, they already have a planned series finale. The show's fate was already up in the air, the after Rachel Bilson's pregnancy things got more complicated...but i think it's time..S1 and S2 were good, but the show was completely lost in S3

    ReplyDelete
  95. If anyone is in need of a laugh, check out TVBTN's analysis of this news.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 16:27

It's been written as a series finale

    ReplyDelete
  97. You are kidding, right? I don't watch the show but Reign has worse ratings and got renewed?!

    ReplyDelete
  98. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 16:33

It's not just about ratings-it's about when a show reaches the point the network/studio can get a return on thier investment-HoD is at the point with enough episodes for syndication'Reign not.Plus, with the short season, low ratings, this season only for syndication purposes ,people expected it to be last. Now days two full seasons on CW means a third & Likley fourth. Also,CW cares about vetran shows having proper endings SNF HoDs finale was written as a series finale but Reign won't have a proper ending.HoDs gotten the same 0.4/0.5 this season as Reign btw so if you say Reign should be cancelled based on ratings this season, then so should HoD.Plus,CW is high on Reign regardless of its ratings,

You should read OTH actors' interviews, that's exactly the same thing. And I agree about season 3, the story was crap and it killed the ratings.

  102. Gaia Di Lorenzo13 March 2015 at 16:48

Well if s3 will suck they can always unrenew... I hope they won't thou I like BATB

    ReplyDelete
  103. Welll that sucks but oh well it happens a lot of other good shows have been renewed like Supernatural Beauty and the beast both good shows. At least Wade and Zoe have a happy ending

    ReplyDelete
  104. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 17:03

Only a couple weeks.Hozd also hit a 0.3 which Tge 100 bpnever did plus The 100 has three 0.6s this season HoD none and HoD only three 0.5s while The 100 got mainly 0.5s.Also as I told others,HoD is at the point of syndication,The 100 isn't.CW can now recoup thier investment / thier loses with zhoD but can't yet with Rthe 100.Also,HoD is out if place on a genre Neteork-except Jane.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 17:07

They won't.If BatB can be renewed hitting 0.20.3 & being pulled off the schedule,Reign & Batzb will survive, especially since if CW were to unrewarding in s3,they wouldn't be able to recoup thier investment & losses on the shows,

    ReplyDelete
  106. How is TO in the same range as Jane/100?

TO is constantly getting numbers above 0.5s while 100/JtV are toying with 0.3s and 0.4s

    ReplyDelete
  107. Neither 100/Jtv have hit a 0.3, 100 only hit a 0.4 once, airing out of a repeat. JtV has grown from TO previously, so clearly they are playing in the same ballpark.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 17:16

Jane /The are NaoT toying eith 0.3-9.4.Jane has gotten several 0.5s and four 0.6s,The 100 one 0.4,thre z0.6/ and rest 0.5sso they're all in the 0.5-9.6 range typically. The 100 has gotten only one 0.4 & no 0.3s and the one 0.4 hardly makes it a teent( this season at least)& Jane hadn't gotten a 0.3 either or a 9.4 in a while but has actually been in demo & I think Viewrs too,

People expected it to be but Czw didn't made it official or public that it was.In fact, several different times he went outvof his way to say " I'm not saying this is the end."

  115. True The 100 is far away from syndication. HoD is only 0.1 away from The 100 on Friday (!!!!). Maybe they just wanted to save the money so they cancelled it.

Yeah. But still ratings are what people see & know( thers so much other factors the public outside of CW dosent see) so that's what we go on.I mean I like BatB but I'm a bit upset it got renewed with lower ratings than HoD yet HoD in one partvif me .But the other part of me knows & understands the non ratings reason Batzb was renewed & HoD cancelled though.

CW is a joint venture so it dosent matter who owns/produces/distributes. Cause botch studios WB & CBS share the profits on all the shows

    ReplyDelete
  144. Usually I ignore your incoherent rants but since I'm sad about the confirmation that the show is ending and have had enough of your bashing Rachel Bilson and the show, I've decided to make an exception. First, why do you think she didn't tell people she was pregnant? Because she didn't send you a personal email? Because she didn't tweet about it? She is under NO obligation to announce to "fans" (which you clearly are not) that kind of information. Just because she's an actress and a celebrity does not somehow entitle you to that kind of personal information about her life. If Jamie King or any other celebrity wants to send out a tweet or announce it live of E or whatever else, that's their business and they are welcome to do it but it certainly doesn't mean everyone has to do that. Maybe she's a more private person? Maybe she knew the photographers would start following her more after people knew (which absolutely happened by the way!)? Whatever the reason she doesn't owe you any explanation. I can assure you, people that "needed" to know were made aware at an appropriate time. People at the show, and probably higher ups at the CW, knew before US announced it to the world.

Second, why do you insist she showed up late for filming? That is simply NOT true. They started filming this season earlier then usual because of her pregnancy and she was there for the start of that. Also, I know she was at the up fronts last year in May because they've talked about the fact that she was able to hide the pregnancy at that point. The pregnancy announcement came a few days later.

I didn't realize there was some law against people who are currently not working going away for vacation? Is it the fact that she went to Barbados that bothers you so much or is it that she has the time and money to go for so long? Her show was on it's regular summer hiatus, her boyfriend wasn't working on any movies at the time, they were going to be having their first a baby in a few months, why exactly was it so wrong of her to go on vacation? Would you be mad at a school teacher who went on vacation over the summer too?

As for not being seen with her baby.. well first that isn't true, I have seen pictures of her with the baby. Also, a lot of publications have taken the stance recently that they don't show pictures of celebrity children unless they have the parents permission. Both US and E have that policy and have talked about it. She's a celebrity and there are a lot of creepy people out there (just look in your mirror). Michael Jackson used to make his kids wear masks when they were out in public because he didn't want people to know what they looked like. She knows there's a chance she's going to be photographed when she is out and about, I don't blame her for wanting to shield her kid, her little baby from that for as long as she can!

You make these ranting posts slamming Rachel Bilson in particular and the show in general on all kinds of message boards but no, you aren't obsessed at all!

  145. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 20:50

Hy are saying Rachel didn't want to work? he's been Dixie,Jumper,The OC & more in the last 10 years. You think she " was given the show" but you feel she didn't deserve it? The casting & Czw though she deserved the job so she got,she had to try for it just like everyone else and the fact casting picked her is all that matters, not that you think she didn't deserve it.So she went on vacation during hiatus of Dixie-that's not a crime.People are entitled to breaks/vacations from work. Its her time, miney mlife to with what she wants not for you to tell her how to live.People Tske vacations from work all the time. She then came back to work on the show.Jsmie isn't and wasn't the face of Dixie either,Rachel was & is.CW dosent promote the show much or have it at conventions or I don't think talk shows much.Rachels worked 16 or more hour days on the shows & movies for years and now she's taking care of a baby on top of that.

  149. I'm torn between being mad and annoyed with the CW and being thankful. I'm mad they canceled it and annoyed that they didn't announce it themselves weeks ago. I want to believe they really hadn't decided before the season started, as they've said, and really were looking at how the ratings went but why couldn't they have told us once the decision was made? Why are they still promoting it as a Season finale? They claim they want to be a major network and play with the big boys but a lot of times it seems like things over there are being run by a bunch of college kids on spring break.

At the same time, I know I should be thankful that we are going to get an "ending" since a lot of shows don't get that. The CW is better than most of the networks about providing their fans with an ending for shows that have been on for a while but it still upsets me.

I think my big problem is that the last season was so short (and yes I know Nikita only got 6 episodes as their finale). I know part of the reason it was short was because of Rachel Bilson's pregnancy but 10 episodes was just too few to fit in all the stuff they wanted to do! I was so hopeful that we would get another short season so we could see Zoe and Wade with their baby, see Lemon and Lavon together (I don't care for them as a couple but a lot of people like them and have wanted to see them together since the show began), see Wade find out about the money Earl has hidden, explore more with Lemon's mom which was rushed into 2 episodes, etc. I guess I wish they would have renewed the show last year and said something like "we know you can only do 10 episodes this year because of Rachel's pregnancy so we are going to let you do those 10 and then bring you back for the last 12 as a summer show in '16". I know it's unlikely with the ratings this show has had (although to be fair they didn't plummet until season 3 which was so poorly executed it makes me want to cry because it feels like that's what killed the show, before that their ratings were better) but it just would have been nice. The CW says they want to have more programming so they show fewer repeats. This show is one of the least expensive they have. Another 12 episodes next spring or summer to really wrap things up in a less rushed way would have been more satisfying. I know what LG has said but I know already I'm not going to be completely happy with the finale, there are too many things left to explore.

  150. Maybe this will increase the odds of The Messengers getting a second season. :D *fingers crossed*

    ReplyDelete
  151. Brandy Danforth13 March 2015 at 22:04

No.CW can just as easily Csncel Messengers too or Messngers ,IZombie along with it.They almost certainly cancel more than one show this season

    ReplyDelete
  152. Not that it's really news but I'm glad they finally came out and said it!
At least yeah, they wrote it like the last season so that's good!

    ReplyDelete
  153. That makes a lot more sense once you understand that the CW doesn't exist to compete for ratings with the other major networks. It may cancel a first year program with low ratings like The Tomorrow People. But, once renewed, the CW network won't take the financial hit associated with walking away from 44 episodes of a program like Reign. In other words, a second season renewal guarantees a third season. After that, things get more subjective. Dixie's fate was decided after it's ratings plummeted last season. In contrast, BATB is still around because it earns significant foreign licensing revenue. Domestic ratings have nothing to do with its survival. It's been shuffled off to summer because the CW network affiliates wouldn't pay anything to license it during the regular season anyway. However, you wouldn't have witnessed a comparable scenario if BATB or Dixie had aired on a major network. Both programs were also fortunate to have come along when the CW badly needed programs. They were among the CW's highest low rated programs after their first season and were cheap to produce. In CW land, that was sufficient to get them at least two more seasons and then some. I believe that 76 episodes of Dixie is plenty. The show's setting simply doesn't allow for expanding the scope of the storyline much beyond the predictably narrow scope of the current personal relationships. it's past time to close shop. Hopefully Rachel Bilson can find another series that showcases her talent for projecting the wittiness and charm that Zoe has demonstrated on Dixie.

  162. So mothers who decide not to work for a while so they can take care of their child are lazy?! If a woman is in the happy financial situation that she does not have to work, it's always the better option to stay with the child than to just shove it off to some daycare center...

  169. Don't BATB have similar rating to HOD yet one show lives on while another is gone!

    ReplyDelete
  170. Brandy Danforth14 March 2015 at 23:22

HoD will have a proper ending & enough episodes for syndication,BatB will not yet.Batzb is a cheap Candaian international co-production which means lower liscening fees, cheaper to film in Canda z& a another production comany helping pay production costs & HoD isn't.Plus with Rachel bring pregnant and that being written in, it was coming to a natural end.CW has renewed so many shows and now has to cancel some to make room for new ones.BatB actually has worse ratings than zhoD.Sometimes it's not all about raw ratings or realitive ratings but a show reaching a natrually confusion point and a point where it can get a return on the investment,

    ReplyDelete
  171. Brandy Danforth14 March 2015 at 23:39

What makes me more upset-I'm sad about it being cancelled but ok since it'll have a proper ending-is Pedowitzs blatant lying. He shoukdve announced it as the final season from the beginning .Some fans were hoping that it would be renewed to get ypto 88 for syndication or as a summer show or were expecting it to be renewed because it's rating the same as a couple other show that were renewed early- & they assumed slso that since Czw renewed so much HoD woukd be renewed too, they got thier hopes up only to be dashed.Dont lie to us or lead us on/string us along. He denied it was cancelled during filming after Scott& Wilson tweeted goodbyes and Wilson joned a new show-at that point at least Predowitz shoukdve said it was cancelled instread of turning around in Jan and saying "we' ll see the ratings( the ratings haven't been that good but not bad either for Fri,CW& equal to Reign,The 100,Jane))".It seems like he always intended to have this be the end and the cast obviously knew too.Dont let it be another 90210-It was announced/confirmed cancelled days before filming on the finale was to star & the writers wre expecting another season and wrote a season finale not a series finale and if that wasn't bad enough the cast out about the cancellation via twitter! How messed up is that?!All that after a month before saying " short final season was possible or Likley".

    ReplyDelete
  172. I'll miss this show terribly :(

    ReplyDelete
  173. It's a pity... it was such a light show. And until the end I'll never understand why they had to split Lavon and AB. They were a sweet couple :(

    ReplyDelete
  174. True... though I think the fact that pretty much the cast and crew treated this season like the last and mentally prepared everyone before the show even started was the next best thing.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Well the thing is they wrapped the season well before they broadcast any of the episodes, and pretty much every cast member was more or less acting in their tweets like it was the end... and the storyline in their essence have had a very "final" vibe to them. So even if they weren't officially canceled, I think everyone kinda knew they weren't coming back... And exactly because that has been the attitude of the whole season so far, I can't help but think they had gotten an unofficial heads up anyway. Which in this business it's way more than you could ask for really...

    ReplyDelete
  176. That was a nice goodbye from Jamie King...
