  3. I'm so pissed by this preview. Since when is Beckett been so needy? Beckett has always been confident, intelligent and classy.

At least Beckett knows she has met her match in that lady.

  7. It's not the first time. Remember when Dana Delaney Agent Shaw popped by and Kate was jealous of her. Its called being 'competitive' (something which Kate has in abundance), not needy.

  8. What???...Kate wants KIDS???...poor Castle, he has to have more SEX now, lol...☺...

  9. i LOVE Kate's hair and it looks like she wants kids AWESOME!!!!!!

  10. Kate was jealous because Rick was fawning over Shaw and her toys. In this case Kate acts as if the Hong Kong cop makes her feel like she isn't good enough not jealousy but as if Kate isn't confident enough to not feel less just because the cop seems to have the perfect life.

  11. Can the writers be more obvious?

  12. I honestly hate that the number of kids (or having/not having kids at all) is treated like a trophy, a task on a scorboard that needs to be checked. The reason why there are so many neglected children in families, that often they are there only because their parents just wanted to comply others' expectations. If you are a woman you need to be embarrassed and feeling guilty if you don't have children. I'm sorry that the show support this thinking.

Another point is that why is it normal that Castle has to accept that the love of his life thinks him second rate to an actor (and be slightly ashamed that he even dared to compare himself to him), but he can't say that someone else's kids are cute? Only Beckett is entitled to have feelings which must be considered, Castle is only anybody's doormat. If Castle acknowledges another woman's undeniable qualities and Beckett reacts poorly than she is competitive. In a reverse situation with a certain millionaire, Castle was considered a jerk.

  14. Beckett has always been competitive, and not having kids yet is a choice she's made, but did she have to through Castle under the bus when comparing husbands. That too was her choice. lol

  15. "Beckett is competitive" - it's a BS, once again the writers sold the character for a joke.

She has never been competitive with Gates. She hadn't been competitive with McCord. (I don't even mention the different male investigators with whom they worked with, as if that would be obvious that she doesn't measure herself to them.) She was jealous about Shaw because (she thought) Castle could find her more interesting, and fought for Castle's attention, but had never competed with her just for the score.

She wanted to serve justice - which isn't a scoreboard game where you need to set up records to be good. Mainly not in the " Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the best cop of them all" fashion. Where is the cop who didn't want to be a bimbette and celebutante, who didn't consider somebody better just because her husband was more(?) famous?

  16. Not competitive with Gates? She defied Gates when told not to follow up on her mother's case, did so again when tracking he assassin. Defied the FBI when she gave Castle the USB drive with evidence on the comic turned spy.

  17. I'm afraid you don't know the meaning of "competitive". Neither of those actions were about to beat Gates, to achieve the tally to herself instead of somebody else. All of them were about for seeking the truth, seeking justice. It has nothing to do with competing.

  18. Totally understand the argument, she's been a constant throughout most of the series. Now married, she's trying to add to her constant now as wife, maybe someday mother (let alone step-mother to Alexis). We as audience get to see these emotions now. I'm sure even 'reserved' Beckett seasons ago thought about some of these things, we just never got to see it, now we do!

  19. It was a complete challenge to Gates authority and finding any and every avenue to do so behind Gates back. That's why Gates punishment was as severe as it was. It was Beckett placing her needs above the safety of everyone else.

  20. Challenge - yes. Competition - no. Beckett's "needs" didn't came from besting anybody, those came from solving the case which on one hand had a very strong personal touch (nothing like that in this episode) and also would have been stalled otherwise. It was not about solving before Gates did, it was to solve it at all. If you can't see the difference, I can't help.

  21. The case was at the point where it was going to be solved, even Ryan objected to her going forward without back up and in doing so nearly go Esposito killed.

  22. Not to mention nearly getting herself killed. That's why Castle wanted nothing to do with her not listening to anyone.
