Ra's pushing buttons, I like this. I like seeing this side of insecure Oliver..... this means this has to come to an end. and yet again SA grows as an actor.
At some point I expected Oliver to say something like "Dude, you should be more threatening because I seriously can't take you serious...why was Malcolm so scared of you again?"
He's not trying to threaten him. He's trying to recruit him peacefully. Besides, the most threatening people aren't the ones who need to convince you they're threatening.
I think he's trying to get him in bed. I was a little surprised Ra's didn't peel the grape and feed it to Oliver.
"Come on, Oliver, if you're down and confused and you don't remember who you're talking to...Well there's a rose in a fisted glove, And the eagle flies with the dove, And if you can't be with the one you love, honey, Love the one you're with."
Matt Nable *may have* missed the subtle line between menace and seduction. But he remembered one of Cosmo's top 9 flirting tricks: Draw attention to your mouth.
huh, I took it as confirmation of how dangerous the guy is. However Barrowman is delivering his character a lot better than Nable is. Nables entire performance is not really selling it to me. But that could be subjective
Oliver was no match for Ra's. There was no need to threaten or be threatening. Furthermore, that whole fight was more of a procedure/duty thing for Ra's. There's no anger and fury about it. Ra's did it because that's how it's done in the League and he did it without malice. Any direction that contradicted that wouldn't make much sense.
For the love of God become Green Arrow already I swear this Ras ducking w this man's head is too funny. I am very interested in seeing how this emo man is the same dude smiling at that wedding in the very next episode. my poor baby n no worries SMV Clark went through the very thing FATE always has a her way. Lol
Why does Ra's need to be threatening if he's trying to offer Ollie the role as the new Ra's al Ghul? That would never add up. Only when Ollie declines should Ra's actually feel like a true villain.
I actually like Ra's now. He has this quite calm and knowledge which is far more dangerous than anything on the show. And I think character wise this Ra's is not prone to make mustache twirling threatening monologues. He would rather take a sword and skewer you. And right now he is not a threat.
No one from Arrow would notice or even remember a change in the timeline, so the storytelling didn't bother to acknowledge it. This would make for excellent fanfiction. What's the timeline that got erased like? Man, I'd love to know!
Emotional conflicts are fine, it helps chracter growth etc.... but honestly someone needs to take Oliver aside and tell me "You picked this life now sack up and deal with it"
also, really nice of Ra's to basically say what he is going to do in the next five or so episodes.
Well let's get some perspective here. I liked Sara but she and Nyssa were basically the same person not to mention that they were together. And it doesn't have to be just about gossiping or spelling secrets. It's natural for Nyssa to be curious to know how the fight went down since she was a part of the big picture.
Sure Stephen got better but you need to remember that the character was supposed to be closed off and strong these past seasons. This season he's more vulnerable and expresses more emotions that's why it appears that he can suddenly act well.
I like it better than Raliver. That has a bit too much similarity to Lauriver/Lauliver and I don't want to jinx this new ship. Ola's has anice touch to it don't you think?
I can't believe this is actually happening lol I don't think the writers imagined in their wildest dreams that the scene would end up making the fans ship Ra's Al Ghul with Oliver lol this is hysterical on so many levels hahahaha
Ra's gave Oliver an offer. he trying to convince him, he trying to explain to him what will happen if he refuses this offer. everyone will be against the Arrow even your close friend in the Police department and etc, isn't that scary?! Oliver tried for almost 3 years for what the Arrow is now, a Hero, and imagine he will see himself at the first step again, a Criminal, a Killer.
he is good. he is good for Oliver Queen/Arrow and he is getting better and better and i want to see him in more projects because he's competitive and he will fight to be better.
I love what he does on Arrow and the way he portraits Oliver/Arrow or I would never have gotten hooked on the show. He gives it 110% (and I don't mean the stunts and training) and it is really great to se him grow. Loved what he did with Kyle on New girl, but sober Kyle was not very different to Oliver/Arrow. IMO his range is growing. A good actor imo is , Steve Peacock (he played a similar character to Arrow on an Aussie soap), Chris Hemsworth. Great actors for me are Jake Gyllenhaal, Tom Hiddelston, Luke Evans.... But I think that is not the point cause I still like what he does ;-)
Honestly I don't remember any of his scenes on either show even though I watched them, which means they weren't very memorable. But based on Arrow, I think he's a very good actor.
Even before The Flash I had kept Grant on a higher level than Stephen. I love Oliver more than Barry but when I first saw Grant on Glee I thought this boy has real potential to be great one day. He was so good in Glee.
All the pieces are starting to fall in place now. I can see how the higher ups at the show keep saying this is the beginning of a new way forward for the show. Originally I was skeptical but now I'm looking forward to seeing how it all plays out. One thing is certain for me though - Oliver will become Ra's Al Guhl.
I hope this is a turning point in the show. This seasons, for me, has not been the strongest. I hope Oliver looks at Rah and realizes this is will be his life if he doesn't start appreciating what he has around him- friends, family, allies and someone who loves him-maybe it's too late for the love part for now but I feel like the whole season everyone has been
Well, I meant for Grant to get stronger in the role of Barry Allen. I still think of Glee when I see him sometimes in the show. With Stephen, he's becoming Oliver Queen.
I definitely agree. Each guy has gotten better, but it definitely took Stephen a longer time since he's had to portray so many different 'types' of Oliver Queen for three seasons.
He has for the eight years, except now he has lost that purpose. Every man has there breaking point and Oliver's at the edge, only question is what choice will he make? But no one gets to tell Oliver that, and no one should, Oliver must reach that decision or whatever choice on his own.
his plan is to cause Oliver Queen and The Arrow in people eyes a criminal not a hero.........I sure there is more than just focusing him to be the demon head
No. But Ra's reads Oliver really well. He knows Oliver's internal struggle and which buttons to push to get him to consider the offer. That's why he is listing the things that makes Oliver the Debbie downer he is now. Only other person who could really know Oliver's fears when it comes to Arrow was Slade.
Yep that's what 600 years of life gives you. Extreme intelligence, observation skills, combat ability that puts Mirakuru soldiers to shame and the ability to manipulate and control every situation. I can't wait until Oliver unleashes Ra's bad side.
I am. I like noble he's got the fatherly, yet intimidating vibe of Ra's pretty well. And I like how he's actually immortal and a user of the pits. I fear that it wouldn't be overt. My only real concern that seems to be addressed in the next few episodes, is that Ra's hasn't proven yet how cruel he can be. But that might be the point so they could build up to the offer. Which will hopefully lead to the genocidal monster Ra's al Ghul is. That and the show's refusal to give some order or choose between how to pronounce his name. But I'm glad Nable said Raysh. Honestly though I find it refreshing that he's not start off the bat as a villain so constantly evil like Slade and Merlyn were when their villany was shown. I like how Ra's is legitimately affably evil. Not only because it fits with this persona with people he respects, but because I like villainous father figures (like Eobard Thawne with Cisco- really want that explored when the timeline changes and they learn who he is).
I am glad a comic book fan approves. I really like the prophetic quality they gave to Ra's here. His affable nature was why I questioned Oliver's decision to wanting him dead. Because he really seems like a logical and calm guy who understands who is evil and who is not. Now comes the exciting part. How is he going to react once his offer is denied. I hope they really ramp it up and let us know how powerful he is.
I have an issue with the name too. Pick one and stick with it.
I liked how he took the offer. He let him go, then like an asshole dressed up as the Arrow and killed three guys. Not gonna lie I thought he'd just send a guy to do it.
That was such a dick move from Ra's. I love it. It's high time he took a hands on approach. I expected Maseo under the hood because the guy who jumped down was leaner than Matt Nable. They really need to get a better stunt double for Matt.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Ra's pushing buttons, I like this. I like seeing this side of insecure Oliver..... this means this has to come to an end. and yet again SA grows as an actor.
ReplyDeleteAt some point I expected Oliver to say something like "Dude, you should be more threatening because I seriously can't take you serious...why was Malcolm so scared of you again?"
ReplyDeleteIs there a person in the world who doesn't know that Oliver loves Felicity? lol
ReplyDeleteHow did Ra's know did Nyssa tell him over tea and biscuits? hahahaha
"I am Ra's Al Guhl, slaughterer of the innocent, pleaser of the Oliciters and underwhelmer of the mac"
ReplyDeleteHe's not trying to threaten him. He's trying to recruit him peacefully. Besides, the most threatening people aren't the ones who need to convince you they're threatening.
ReplyDeleteAside from Ra's' vaguely sexual delivery, I am so thrilled we are finally getting to Oliver's story. But really this should have been 3.10.
ReplyDelete"underwhelmer of the mac" hahaha
ReplyDeleteit pretty obvious the league has a high level mole inside team arrow or they have lot of spies everyhwere
ReplyDeleteWait are you kidding or do you really think someone in the team is a mole?
ReplyDeleteI think he's trying to get him in bed. I was a little surprised Ra's didn't peel the grape and feed it to Oliver.
ReplyDelete"Come on, Oliver, if you're down and confused and you don't remember who you're talking to...Well there's a rose in a fisted glove, And the eagle flies with the dove, And if you can't be with the one you love, honey, Love the one you're with."
yes think Young Justice style.......Ra's already foreseen the future! he may be best friend with Harrison wells
ReplyDeleteHa! Now I get it. Ra's is trying to seal the deal.
ReplyDeletehahaha speaking of Wells, shouldn't this time change affect Arrow?
ReplyDeleteacting wise he's underhwelmng. You should feel the threat, I just don't
ReplyDeleteI read the flash event don't affect Arrow for reasons of some fan not watch both shows
ReplyDeleteI can't stop laughing lol
ReplyDeleteThank you I needed that after the Flash episode.
Good. They should keep it that way.
ReplyDeleteDamn Ra's was that supposed to be your tender side? You SOB. I feel for Oliver right now. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI could say the same about Barrowman. Entertaining, yes. Threatening? Nope.
ReplyDeletePrecisely!
ReplyDeleteMatt Nable *may have* missed the subtle line between menace and seduction. But he remembered one of Cosmo's top 9 flirting tricks: Draw attention to your mouth.
I just love this scene, Oliver lost look and cold Ra's...is tuesday already???
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't just want Oliver to become Ra's. He wants Oliver to become one with Ra's.
ReplyDeleteLOL I bow to you, sir.
ReplyDeleteI partially agree on that, Barrowman did deliver one solid threatening scene "they deserved to die, all of them. The way she died"
ReplyDeleteOh, no. I bow to you. I'm just following your lead, after all.
ReplyDeleteThat wasn't threatening to me. That was the pain and anger of a broken man. That made me feel bad for Merlyn more than anything.
ReplyDeletehuh, I took it as confirmation of how dangerous the guy is. However Barrowman is delivering his character a lot better than Nable is. Nables entire performance is not really selling it to me. But that could be subjective
ReplyDeleteI wish he would accept the offer. He would have the entire League behind him, it would make him so much stronger.
ReplyDeleteno offense to matt nable but imo john barrowman is a better actor with a terrible storyline.
ReplyDeleteThe guy (Ra's) basically wants to retire. He seems a lot to me like a guy who is exhausted by and disinterested with his life. Seems right to me.
ReplyDeleteThat's right but I highly doubt that this was the acting direction they gave Nable in his 3*09 scene basically giving Oliver his last rites
ReplyDeleteOliver was no match for Ra's. There was no need to threaten or be threatening. Furthermore, that whole fight was more of a procedure/duty thing for Ra's. There's no anger and fury about it. Ra's did it because that's how it's done in the League and he did it without malice. Any direction that contradicted that wouldn't make much sense.
ReplyDeleteFor the love of God become Green Arrow already I swear this Ras ducking w this man's head is too funny. I am very interested in seeing how this emo man is the same dude smiling at that wedding in the very next episode. my poor baby n no worries SMV Clark went through the very thing FATE always has a her way. Lol
ReplyDeleteHe might of got that info from malcolm
ReplyDeleteI don't think Malcolm was in a chatting mood that day.
ReplyDeleteMolcolm is the only that Ra's met that knows
ReplyDeleteWells! Now there's a guy that's more intimidating than Ra's.
ReplyDeleteNyssa knows but I think he's been spying on the team.
ReplyDeleteWhen? Last time they saw nyssa before sara die slade wilson attacking the city
ReplyDeleteStephen Amell gets stronger and stronger every season. I can only wonder if Grant does the same.
ReplyDeleteWhy does Ra's need to be threatening if he's trying to offer Ollie the role as the new Ra's al Ghul? That would never add up. Only when Ollie declines should Ra's actually feel like a true villain.
ReplyDeleteActing wise Barrowman was never threatening either, but it still worked. The only villain that doesn't have a calm composure was Manu's Deathstroke.
ReplyDeleteYeah and she must've known about Oliver's plan then.
ReplyDeletethen he wouldn't be Green Arrow.
ReplyDeleteAre you talking Ra's trap last episode? You lost me there
ReplyDeleteNo I meant his plan to fool Slade. Everyone knew then that Oliver wasn't pretending.
ReplyDeleteI thought sara was the with only one with oliver during that part of the episode
ReplyDeleteAnd with whom did Sara leave after that? I'm sure at some point Nyssa asked what made Slade kidnap Felicity.
ReplyDeleteWell sara is not the type of person to spill personal stuff about oliver to a woman like nyssa
ReplyDeleteI hope i'm not making you mad i respect your opinon
ReplyDeleteIm sorry my last post should be to you not to myself
ReplyDeleteI actually like Ra's now. He has this quite calm and knowledge which is far more dangerous than anything on the show. And I think character wise this Ra's is not prone to make mustache twirling threatening monologues. He would rather take a sword and skewer you. And right now he is not a threat.
ReplyDeleteGood lord ISbloom. LOL. That was funny. What will be the ship name Ola's or Raliver or GhulQueen?
ReplyDeleteThat is good.
ReplyDeleteAnother bad guy after Slade who knows how to punch Oliver when he is down. Still no one can do it as well as Slade though.
ReplyDeleteGrant is better with each episode. He'll get there eventually.
ReplyDeleteNo one from Arrow would notice or even remember a change in the timeline, so the storytelling didn't bother to acknowledge it. This would make for excellent fanfiction. What's the timeline that got erased like? Man, I'd love to know!
ReplyDeleteI think he said to Oliver "Al Sahim" anyone know if it means Green Arrow?
ReplyDeleteso that's his plan, destroy Oliver Queen and The Arrow to create Ra's Al Ghul
ReplyDeleteand they're actually scarier
ReplyDeletehmm makes sense
ReplyDeleteVERY strong but like the promo said it'd be like selling his soul
ReplyDeletei think the spelling's wrong or he said "oh i saw him"
ReplyDeleteEmotional conflicts are fine, it helps chracter growth etc.... but honestly someone needs to take Oliver aside and tell me "You picked this life now sack up and deal with it"
ReplyDeletealso, really nice of Ra's to basically say what he is going to do in the next five or so episodes.
It means the Arrow
ReplyDeleteNo not at all and thank you :)
ReplyDeleteMhhm I find Grant to be already Gartner developed as an actor than SA.
ReplyDeleteWell let's get some perspective here. I liked Sara but she and Nyssa were basically the same person not to mention that they were together. And it doesn't have to be just about gossiping or spelling secrets. It's natural for Nyssa to be curious to know how the fight went down since she was a part of the big picture.
ReplyDeleteI believe Roy it Dihgle could be a mole.
ReplyDeleteIt would be fun to read but I don't want it to happen on the show.
ReplyDeleteOla's hahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteSure Stephen got better but you need to remember that the character was supposed to be closed off and strong these past seasons. This season he's more vulnerable and expresses more emotions that's why it appears that he can suddenly act well.
ReplyDeleteHe is getting better, not saying he is good....
ReplyDeleteI like his acting actually :)
ReplyDeleteI like it better than Raliver. That has a bit too much similarity to Lauriver/Lauliver and I don't want to jinx this new ship. Ola's has anice touch to it don't you think?
ReplyDeleteI can't believe this is actually happening lol

Ra's gave Oliver an offer. he trying to convince him, he trying to explain to him what will happen if he refuses this offer.
ReplyDeleteeveryone will be against the Arrow even your close friend in the Police department and etc, isn't that scary?! Oliver tried for almost 3 years for what the Arrow is now, a Hero, and imagine he will see himself at the first step again, a Criminal, a Killer.
And all thing Oliver is afraid is to be ALONE.
he is good. he is good for Oliver Queen/Arrow and he is getting better and better and i want to see him in more projects because he's competitive and he will fight to be better.

ReplyDeletewhere did you find out, it's not on google transate
ReplyDeletehe really does give everything.
ReplyDeleteI speak Arabic.
ReplyDeleteHonestly I don't remember any of his scenes on either show even though I watched them, which means they weren't very memorable. But based on Arrow, I think he's a very good actor.
ReplyDeleteWhat if Roy is a mole for LoA and that is why he is apprehended in Oliver's suit by Quentin.
ReplyDeleteEven before The Flash I had kept Grant on a higher level than Stephen. I love Oliver more than Barry but when I first saw Grant on Glee I thought this boy has real potential to be great one day. He was so good in Glee.
ReplyDeleteNo no no no no. Don't do this. Don't start a new round of theories. I have a headache already.
ReplyDeleteHey blame arrowshieldfan. He started it.
ReplyDeleteI don't care who started it, I'm ending it! (are we in kindergarten lol)
ReplyDeleteI really love Ra's Al Ghul. Matt Noble is great!!
ReplyDeleteMommy... Not fair *stomps feet*
ReplyDeleteGo to your room! And no TV for a week *stern face*
ReplyDelete*Stomps away and close the bedroom door with a bang*
ReplyDeleteJust wait until your father hears about this, young lady. And it's 2 weeks now.
ReplyDeleteLOL Jajajajaja Burned! xD
ReplyDeleteAll the pieces are starting to fall in place now. I can see how the higher ups at the show keep saying this is the beginning of a new way forward for the show. ReplyDeletesmiling at your comments.

ReplyDeleteI wasn't trying to be snarky I was just answering the question.
ReplyDeleteYou just bought yourself another week missy. Wanna go for a month? (OMG that girl is SO CUTE)
ReplyDelete:D :D This is what happens when your shows make you lose your mind lol
ReplyDeleteThat's my girl. = p
ReplyDeleteWell, I meant for Grant to get stronger in the role of Barry Allen. I still think of Glee when I see him sometimes in the show. With Stephen, he's becoming Oliver Queen.
ReplyDeleteAhh nie i get it. Totally agree
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree. Each guy has gotten better, but it definitely took Stephen a longer time since he's had to portray so many different 'types' of Oliver Queen for three seasons.
ReplyDeleteYes! yes! yes! He needs to own up to his choices, suck it up and move on!
ReplyDeleteLOL, thanks for making me laugh. :) I hope it holds me over for next 8 weeks while wait.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing we get only one sneak peek anymore i guess give too much away
ReplyDeleteMaybe for a while, but in the end he will turn against him and realize his destiny as Green Arrow.
ReplyDeleteHe has for the eight years, except now he has lost that purpose. Every man has there breaking point and Oliver's at the edge, only question is what choice will he make? But no one gets to tell Oliver that, and no one should, Oliver must reach that decision or whatever choice on his own.
ReplyDeleteHes trying to get him to take his offer. If Ra's wanted to break Oliver he'd do it.
ReplyDeleteKnowing Ra's he probably had Oliver under observation. But it'd be hilarious if he had a meal where he asked Malcolm this kinda stuff.
ReplyDeletehis plan is to cause Oliver Queen and The Arrow in people eyes a criminal not a hero.........I sure there is more than just focusing him to be the demon head
ReplyDeleteNo.
ReplyDeleteYep that's what 600 years of life gives you. Extreme intelligence, observation skills, combat ability that puts Mirakuru soldiers to shame and the ability to manipulate and control every situation. I can't wait until Oliver unleashes Ra's bad side.
ReplyDeleteAs a comic book fan are you happy with Ra's? My experience of this character is only through Nolan verse.
ReplyDeleteI am.
ReplyDeleteIt just made me remember a line of That 70's Show Jajaja xD
ReplyDeleteQuhul? I think we need to avoid the argument on whether it's Olazz or Olaaysh.
ReplyDeleteQuhul is cute too. Agreed. It is law!
ReplyDeleteI am glad a comic book fan approves.
ReplyDeleteI have an issue with the name too. Pick one and stick with it.
I liked how he took the offer. He let him go, then like an asshole dressed up as the Arrow and killed three guys. Not gonna lie I thought he'd just send a guy to do it.
ReplyDeleteThat was such a dick move from Ra's. I love it. It's high time he took a hands on approach. I expected Maseo under the hood because the guy who jumped down was leaner than Matt Nable. They really need to get a better stunt double for Matt.
ReplyDeleteYeah they should. Lol and some doubted Ra's terribleness.
ReplyDelete
